What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

5.9 this morose, moody, mongy, manic, Monday.
Very tired, couldn't think of a word that means tired.
Mrs L has been very belligerent overnight, yes, belligerent with a big bee, and not a bumble thingymybob buzzing!
As per, toilet breaks, but up and about, between tea making and the possibility of house explosions and demolition. Her bed rest routine went out with the bath water.
Only thinking of the fun bathing in front of the coke fire, in the living room with the radio on, to a Sunday night comedy. In a tin bath. Once a week, wether I needed one or not!
Mrs L, would not stay in bed and as soon as I was snoring, (I don't) Mrs L was sneaking around.
And some me at least five or six times until eventually I had enough, and I needed tea.
This was 5.30 a.m.ish, just about daylight. No sun, no rain, just dull!
Well, within an hour of morning meds, Mrs L 's pit was calling.

Anyways, dentistry and the epidemic or the WWF warning of the extinction of the species.
A & E is full of children's issues.
My story goes back over fifty years to a stubborn wisdom one.
it needed to be out. So dentist eventually climbed on a chair with a knee on my chest to extract the ******.
Then in a matter of a couple of years. I was back because one of my front uns, had a cyst in the gum.
The dentist who done the prognosis was a dental surgeon. She an ounce with full confidence it could be got out and keep the tooth.
This would be done with a small incision into the gum.
I'm not adverse, to procedures, and the many I have had have been local anaesthesia.
so to save the tooth, the cut was made, however, the cyst was not playing, the dentist had to find another way, if the tooth was to be saved.
So the dentist cut the gym a little wider, no! A little more.
Then changed to the inner gum, my fifth needle, my whole face was going numb.
More probing and finally with help from another dentist, the cyst, surrended.
The next half hour after my sixth needle, was suture practice. In total somewhere around eighteen stitches were required. And it saved the tooth.
I was off work for five weeks and my face had grew out by about a foot, my beloved, Mrs L told me that I looked like the elephant man. And a lot of banter was had at my expense.
To say I was impressed, was contrary to my feelings, then and now!
That episode cured me from dentistry for life. Though I did get one pulled by a nurse in hospital.
And just because the dentist wanted to save the tooth!
It would have been less painful, less everything....... If the dentist had extracted the tooth before playing catch the cyst..........!
And to cap it all, the tooth in question fell out, no more than a couple of months later.
I wasn't happy!
I still have two thirds of my dentures. And the only good thing to come out of that episode, is the dentist admitted the nerve endings to that area had to be cut. So even when I should be in pain, I'm not!
@Annb I'm glad you're appointment went well!

My best wishes to you lot as is the daily routine. Going for a lie down.

Big question?
Could you really trust our prime miniature with your future safety and trust his lot?
Who is he kidding?
And why the scare tactics?

Good morning everyone from yet another hot chilli peppers in the blistering sun start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.4 at 0520 when I rashly got up. We walked down to the lower prom yesterday - quite early, sticking to the woods route for some shade even though I was hiding beneath the brim of my Tilley hat. Back home by 1030. Mrs Miggins pottering about in the garden while I did a few errands, roof down on our little car pretending to be Isadora Duncan but without the silk scarf - it’s health and safety gone mad! Haircut and beard trim - what! On a Sunday! Saw the place open and took the opportunity, carping my diem. New look scared the life out of Mrs Miggins as I promenaded into the garden doing a bit of peacocking. Art bit - just a single tree - I like trees - very underrated and always listen politely when you talk to them. Hope your day goes well, it’s your only go at it after all and time is easily squandered. Best make koffy and do some exercises.
As a child I saw pollarded trees along the river banks mostly @dunelm

Great art bit...

Had car service today.
This is the first car manufacturer garage, that has not collected the car as a courtesy for disabled people. I was told when I booked the car service, that they did not employ drivers for this any more. I had explained I was not up to the wait while my car was being serviced, and there were a few other problems the receptionist was not helpful over. The receptionist had told me that was my problem and she said I'm sure you'll find a way.

If I could have handed my car back there and then and got a refund for it, and gone for another car, I would've done.

I was dreading this morning. There was a disabled couple there who should not have had to bring their car in either, and they were suffering waiting...I left at 10:45am, and that disabled couple who had come very soon after me, their car had not even entered the service area yet. She was suffering badly...

I got to the garage forecourt, it is massive, at 7:30 am (I left home at just before 7 am to make darn sure I was there first. I was second...but at 7:30 am there was not a single car space left for a customer. And the workers had also parked their cars all on the pavements of the roads around this garage, and all on the central reservations, and even on the roundabouts. I created a space, in front of the main doors...

When I got back home I was exhausted, went to bed, and slept. Just woke up, 3 pm, my head needs more sleep. Trying to do this post now. Then it's goodnight from me. I am going to bed early...

Creative...one half of the disabled couple sitting in the service area's uncomfortable chairs. It is a woman on her phone. I found her difficult to draw. Tried several times, but had to stop. She looked at me suspiciously...I had drawn several other people before I did her.

I need more sleep now...

Have your best day...

I had tried to photo the northern lights last night, but nothing ...

There was a lot I intended to do today but was "encouraged" by Neil to go through the larder contents again before it was all put back. The encouragement consisted of Neil wielding a bottle of bleach and a long handled sponge and attacking the shelves and walls which hadn't been replaced before bringing boxes through and checking everything for date and condition. Anything not meeting his exacting standards needed decisions about disposal - no question that it would be disposal; he wouldn't permit any of my usual nonsense of hanging on to out-of-date packets. Loads in the compost bin, packaging in the recycling, jars in the dishwasher and sparkling clean shelves and fresh plastic boxes stacked on them. Still not finished though and there are still a couple of boxes to unload, but not tonight now.

It occurred to me on waking from a dream and it maybe obvious to most but I had not seen it before but the Roman Empire was the ancient equivalent of the EU with free movement and trade throughout its borders and a citizen could move unrestricted throughout the empire strange how history repeats itself isn’t it.

Just back from the dentist. My remaining teeth are in fine fettle, apparently but he did grind down some sharp edges on my lower front teeth which have been causing trouble for my tongue. Also tells me I have "geographic tongue". I've heard of it and did wonder. Nothng to be done about it though, it will flare up from time to time and then go away when it feels like it. Advice - don't use mouthwash, it just makes it worse. Use salt water if I must but always before brushing, not after. Come back in a year. Surprisingly, I didn't have to pay for it.

Also gave me a chance to have a happy conversation with 2 of my ex students working in reception there. They were very flattering about my influence on them. They reckon that the education currently on offer at the college is nothing like as good as theirs was. I'd heard that before. Such a shame. My specialty was helping those who had had a bad school experience to be able to get onto the learning wagon again. That no longer happens.

The Move More class no longer happens either - last one today. Kirsty's contract hasn't been renewed because, it seems that, Zoom classes are no longer needed now that the pandemic is over.
It is a pity. You will miss your Zoom classes with Kristy @Annb

Such a bad experience and a waste of a day for you. Today will surely be better. Smashing sketch, she looks so forlorn.

And then the fighting began…. We never seem to learn and the screaming masses elect another despot in some form or another.

Good morning everyone on a much cooler start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 4.8 this am. A pretty quiet day yesterday. Mooching about. I had bought three new polo shirts and then had the dreadful job of deciding which three upper body items in my wardrobe were the most bedraggled and could be sent to wherever used men’s clothing goes. It seems that charity shops are very buoyant with frocks and such like and toys and books and old tapes, CD’s and sad looking video tapes, some in posh boxes disguised as books. But not much in the gentlemen’s department - “are you being served sir?” No, I’m not. Neigbour popped round in the afternoon and had a mug of tea in the garden. He is 95 years old - or it could be 96, I forget. He and The Girl In The Bubble chatted about a painting she was working on - one of those ‘magic’ ones where you brush water on and the latest miracle occurs. I am hoping that at some point she will turn that water into something to accompany steak. Then we can turn our attention to alchemy. Art bit. Looking at a photograph - splodges of coloured inks and watercolour - not altogether slapped down randomly - there were a couple of light pencil lines - then an ink pen. Hope your day, whatever it may be called includes at least a smile. I shall finish my koffy and then get on with something.

Really bad way to treat their customers @gennepher. Hope you feel a lot better today.

Thank you @dunelm
It was, it took me the rest of the day to recover.
Thank you for the sketch compliment. It was like her spirit was sucked out of her bit by bit and she looked quite despairing by the time I left. I had a few words with her as I left which I hope helped....

Wow @dunelm
I am loving this pollarded trees series.
Amazing colour in this one.

I am having a 'me' day today...

Creative...another one line squiggle from the hell hole of a car service waiting room which was a dead end corridor where the coffee and water and toilet facilities were for the entire site....I watched the receptionist add more milk to the remainder of yesterday's milk dispenser in the coffee/tea machine without even cleaning it or washing it out...my stomach was heaving...she was lucky I did not throw up... I couldn't stop coughing and had to suck sweets....luckily for me I had my own flask of iced tea...

This one line squiggle took, I have no idea how long, maybe a minute... I am doing 3 seated people and half of the car showroom...

Have your best day...

We have a deluge here. It is watering all my pots, and has saved my eucalyptus tree which is in a pot too small for it...I wonder if that should be a job for today...stand in the rain and repot the eucalyptus...so, a large pot or my one remaining black dustbin? The Eucalyptus (spellcheck changed it to Erica's?????) currently is 15 to 20 foot tall...it is lucky it has survived despite my neglect...
