6.9 and not surprised as it was form filling day, for me, spent all morning obsessing about it.
Then, it was the actual answering questions to the man.
Afterwards, I asked the question.
Mrs L will still get P.I.P?
Should not be a problem, he said with a positive shrug!
That is so reassuring!

Mrs L sends her thanks for the wishes, a little bruise, (another) on her upper leg, on the muscle. And Mrs L is not moaning, so I believe it is ok, and will keep an eye on it.

Question on a quiz, which is the largest landlocked country?

One said, either Russia or China.
The other said Russia!
I couldn't believe my ears.
Landlocked I shouted at the telly. Which earned a rebuke from Mrs L.
Answer will be later........

Picked up some fillets for evening meal.

Today, was one of warmth and cloud, odd bits of sun, and not much done in garden. But it can wait.

Not much more to report.
Best wishes everyone.
Probably that place that Borat comes from

Had a call from the GP today seems the colonoscopy found no sign of bowel cancer so immensely relieved she did however have concerns over resent blood test showing bit of a problem with liver function some times you just can’t win.

This is brilliant news mate.
I have up and down liver function results for over two decades.
Drink more water, and keep an eye on it.
When a blood test is done and you are even slightly under hydrated, it will show up as a worse liver function result than if you were overhydrsfed. It is the enzymes from your liver that show up in the blood test.
Does that make sense?

I have always known that the society we live in, in this country, has been rotten to the core.
The ethics and rules we live by, the law, politics, the hierarchy, upper echelons of the civil service, royalty.
Even to the propaganda we see every day in our press and media.
The whole lot are corrupt.
After today, the truth behind the scandal was a damming indictment of how bad it is. How the care of so many susceptible people did not get the duty of care or even given the choice. How children were used as guinea pigs. How the few doctors, the decision making, the cover ups, the lies, the deceit.
I was listening intently to the mention of Alder Hey in the early eighties. And the shocking news that children were given infected blood. #2 son had an operation in 84.. For a herniated bowel. And of course, he was given blood.
It is frightening to think my lad could have been infected.

On top of the Hillsborough disaster,
The post office scandal.
Water.
Brexit.
Power,
Oil and gas.
The banks.
The city of London.
Russian assassins.
The power brokers.
Self interest before what is right.
Bought Tories and a complicit right wing press over the years since the late adventures destroyed our democracy.
There has been an orchestration by successive governments bought by foreign influence, to infect of our way of British ideals.
The consistency of government based on cover ups and scandals, dogma, for the benefit of the corrupt elite.
The pursuit of profit before the rights and care of the people.

Food banks.
Child poverty.
That is what Tories term success.
While our pm, banks more money every week, than 95% of the population earn in a lifetime.

Sometimes, I am ashamed to be English.

With the post office enquiry the Helen Rose report is constantly mentioned well she was the person who interviewed Keiran and gave him his job in the post office he says she is a very nice person and he was surprised when she abruptly left the post office.
When I think back to the 70s and the 80s both Judith and myself had blood transfusions in those times and am thinking how both may have dodged the bullet it’s quite unnerving a thing to contemplate.

Yes, I dodged the bullet also as I had a blood transfusion in 1973. I agree that it is quite unnerving a thing to contemplate.

Yes, it is the Absolute Black 100%. Back in 2016 I switched to 70% which was really hard to do as I loved milk chocolate. After a while it started tasting too sweet so switched to 85% but the same thing happened so I switched to 90% but then a class member gave me the Montazumas 100% as a Christmas present and I absolutely loved the rich and intense taste and from that moment on I felt same as you - no other chocolate would do.

I do love the way the buttons slowly melt in your mouth.
Afraid, I'm way behind with posting again @Krystyna23040.

We're all different, but on diagnosis in 2003, I went cold turkey on sweet foods in general and although I'd thought my palate might change, I was unprepared for just how quickly that happened.

I too love the way Montezuma's Absolute Black slowly melts and coats every part of your mouth with a soft and sticky chocolate gooeyness. Delicious.

Monday's FBG 4.3 mmol on waking at 6.00 am.

Private companies have a duty to make profits - water should not be in the control of private companies - don’t hold your breath when it comes to seeing improvements - Ofwat is a bit like the UN peacekeeping force - utterly without teeth. Wonder if I can get a job with Ofwat? Will I need to be on the board of directors of a water company?
Completely agree @dunelm.

OFWAT is responsible for the same regulation that competition achieves in a normal market, but AFAIK it has never refused the water companies permission to increase their prices.

Swipey woes. Two Libre 2s failed one after the other. I think that the anti-adhesive chomping measures I used to get away with on Libre 1s in longer work for these fussy beasties. So two more on their way to me and I am trying out this “airing out” method while waiting for some under-patches from Expressionmed.

Meanwhile after the whole bowel cancer test scare, and the relative relief of knowing it is Ulcerative Colitis, yesterday was the first day I actually had some appetite - homemade chicken kebabs in mini wraps.

Lunch had been a poached egg, one frankfurter and a dollop of sauerkraut.

Let’s see what today brings.

Good morning everyone on a wonderful sound of silence start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. A trip has been planned. This time to Birmingham. I am leaving it in the capable hands of the Safari team (Safari just means ‘to journey’ but nowadays usually includes seeing wild animals - small grandchildren may fall into that category). Decadently frittered away time yesterday on that expensive pastime of doing sod all. Apart I must say, from the important task of supervising Mrs Miggins on the delicate task of applying some Teak oil (not to be confused with tea tree oil). Art bit - last of the five Indian ink on wet blotches. Hope you day is fruitful. I have a bit of shopping to do later but first I need some koffy.

Kiki doing what cats do, sadly.

Good luck keeping the chicks safe.

Nice pics btw.
Did you resize them ?
Its a long time since i had a young fit and active cat. Even then we were living in a town so not so much available or varied prey. There it was mostly sparrows and starlings. Don't remember any being caught.
Think I was just lucky this time and the pics were already a useable size.

6.5 at 05.50 today. Up a bit now but it'll be OK once I have breakfast.

Soup making day today - or at least stock making. A chicken carcass to deal with and a ham hock to boil up. That will give me stock for a pot or 2 of pea and ham soup and for some chicken and leek soup when weather turns cold again. Have to have a think about what to do with the meat from the ham hock.

Neil plans to take a whole pile of cardboard and paper to the recycling plant today but I haven't seen hide nor hair of him yet. I bought (online) some pasta made from edamame beans and mung beans and he tried that yesterday. It may not have suited his delicate constitution so plans might be subject to change.

Yes I find using my phone difficult especially when the predictive text takes over and you are restricted with the likes.
It’s enjoying when someone messes with your rig and is not as competent as they think.
Am assuming this is a predictive text misinterpretation.

As Ian said, hope Mrs L didn’t hurt her hand or arm or shoulder - bones don’t like surprises as you age. Shop order - hilarious.
More common to break a wrist putting hand down when falling, as Mum did some years ago. We all got the lecture - and some years later when ducking under a barrier my foot turned on loose stones. Down I went. "Don't put hands down" echoing through my head - then " I'm going down on my face! Flung both arms up to form a landing pad for face. Some scrapes to hands, arms and knees, but thankfully no worse damage.

Thank you @ianpspurs. Walk done, cash raised and my pal will find out tomorrow if he can come off his chemo or if it has to continue.
Best wishes to your pal. My father lived with Limphoma for about fifteen years. Enduring two rounds of chemo during that time. It was pneumonia that carried him away two months short of 92.
