What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Ah@Lamont D. Could you be talking of Portmeirion? We spent the first day of my retirement there in one of the Italianate buildings which was very special but sadly during our evening meal in the hotel we received a call saying my father in law had been taken ill and we had to come home. Still a very special place in a lovely location.
Portmerion it is.
Beautiful purpose built village.

Extremely sad that.
Bad news over the telephone is so impersonal..

Yamas

No meter, so no testing .

After a swim in the hotel pool
(Just us)...and a little bit of massage via the pools filtration system .

We hit molyvos.

It's not game of thrones, but it so could have been.

A tiring day, so a run back in the car to an easy night at our favourite bar, and a very decent takeaway on the veranda.

While Lauren popped to the loo, this gorgeous cheeky one invited itself to make it a "table for three, garçon "...

Loving it

Born this day 1939. So all this death and destruction was in the process of coming upon us. A good job we do not know what do the line.
D.
is it happy birthday mate or are you like royalty that has a second one?
when I remember my dad and his health after being in Burma, it has always been a source of how stupid war is.
And what these soldiers gave up for our future.

6.4 and a trip to town on Mrs L 's orders.
We did need a few bits, so I ventured out.
And a ham shank for later acquired.I

Just had a fun hour with #8 on the way to pick #7 from school.

The date of my birth is synonymous with the first battle of the ironclads.
Since then the naval warfare designs of ships of war has changed.I

Weather is clear skys, but windy, no rain. But you can't sit out unless you have a fur coat and four layers on. And wind chill around here makes it only feel like 9 degrees. Awful!
How can you go out without three layers, long pants and a windbreaker in June?

Mrs L needs tea. Yes dear!

The torys are liars, who would have thought?

Morening all

Blood sugars this morning were 5.1

Another busy day at the coal face ov pandering to whims ov Mrs J, whose operation on her broken wrist yesterday went well. The medics reset the break using a plate and screws.

Now it is time Mrs J says to start her day, stuff my day.
Planting her under the patio is not an option……….
Yes dear coming…….
Best regards to Mrs J and all the best with your below stairs employment.

Back from town after another leg bandaging morning. Odd sort of day T2-wise. BG was 5.9 at 04.00 and 7.1 before early breakfast of a crumpet with a fried egg on top. That one crumpet should have had a serious effect on BG so I took insulin that I would normally take for such a large amount of carbs. In the car, on the way to town, my Libre alarm sounded because BG was down to 3.9. Took 2 fruit pastilles to stop the drop. In the Health Centre, waiting for Neil to collect me, I checked and it was 3.2. Had 2 oatcakes from my emergency kit, nothing happened (oatcakes would normally send my BG sky high), had a third oatcake - same thing. That was my emergency supply exhausted. I was considering asking the receptionist for help from a nurse, but Neil arrived and there were more fruit pastilles in the car (my other emergency supply). Had 3 more. Got home and checked again - 3.3. Had a cup of tea and it rose to 5.9. Great! Now it has dropped again to 4.4. Don't understand it. With all these carbs it should be about 15. This is just ridiculous. Just about to try a cup of warm milk (it's pretty chilly here today) and see if that'll be any help.

Afternoon all. Taking a break from tasks while Mrs J is “ reading “ with her eyes closed !

Happy birfday @lindisfel

Just for info I gave up on adding milk into my tea and koffy asI found it raised my blood sugar. Please note all our body chemistry is different. I hope this information is ov use.

I usually still take milk in my tea and coffee and it does put my BG up but while I'm on close to zero carbs most of the time, I can cope with a small rise. As it happens, I used a cup of milky cocoa to bring my BG back up this afternoon, when it was staying stubbornly low. It is now up to 6.4. I fell asleep and had a very unhappy dream while waiting for it to work and slept for an hour. Still a bit groggy but not shaking now.

Nighttime wildlife video
Fox & Badger (Fox jumps off swing)
No cats about although the fox appears to be anxiously checking the swing. A different fox jumps on the swing than the one seen in the beginning...

Creative...a daisy like flower today...this is directly outside my bedroom window. There are 7 of them. More buds are ready to come out. These have been flowering for over 2 weeks now...all the blooms are still perfect.

A lot of the flowers and stuff in my garden seems to be courtesy of the birds or the badgers, both seed distributing creatures. I never know what is going to come up.

Time for a nap...

A cuppa first...

Have a great day

Good morning everyone on a blissfully quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. It was a good day yesterday. Most of my days are good days and so far I have continued to both wake up and also to move! As well as all the goings on trying to remember the glory and the stupidity of the past we wished our grandson a happy 15th birthday. Some annoying pain in my right calf muscle when walking into town and the usual lower back whining and complaining and my hands are seizing up more than usual. The are probably still in winter. Found an old pair of shoes that thought they were on shoe death row, awaiting execution. A stay I say - must be at least another two pennyworth out of them. Modern shoes are really comfy right out of the box but unfortunately are not very good when it comes to replacing soles and heels. Modern is not necessarily an improvement. Art bit - a couple of creaky old trees. Hope you can manage to decide to have a good day. I will make some koffy and have a little read.
