What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

When I was diagnosed with PF last year one of the nurses advised me to buy a hand held fan and when having difficulty breathing to use it to blow air onto my cheek as they have found this can help with breathing I have tried it and does seem to kelp at times.
Good morning @JohnEGreen
I use a fan I hang around my neck. It is on pretty much a lot this hot weather indoors - I never wear it out of the house among people obviously because of Covid etc
But looking on Amazon it is now out of stock. I have two, one round my neck (or I clip it round my waist for a gentler breeze) and one on charge ... top pic...
But Amazon kindly show me an alternative...bottom pic...I was thinking of ordering another as a spare...

A friend brought me one like this next one below for my birthday....it nearly froze my head off and with the gale force wind it dried my eyes out instantly...I imagine the noise would be intolerable to a hearing person,,,like being in a force 10 gale at sea...

EDIT : at 6am this morning.
I have another neck fan for when my eyes are too dry which does fan and moisture (the mist) and I use just the mist function, but this one breaks down easily (stops working) although it is my favourite one for the mist function for my dry eyes. It has a neckloop (lanyard), so I can wear it as I walk around. So, it is working out expensive, but is very effective for my dry eyes. It is also cumbersome to wear.

The Zoom course was brilliant. Only problem was that it was so much information - my brain is completely fried.

They are sending us a recording and more course notes - thank goodness as there are bits I definitely need to go over again.
Yes @Krystyna23040, and sometimes these courses cram in more than people necessarily want to know.

Saturday's FBG 4.3 mmol on waking at 6.00 am

Morning all from L.A. on Trinity 8 - so just on the verge of ordering the turkey and putting the sprouts on a low heat for some. Cooler and frankly not to my liking today but many here will appreciate a drop in temperature. Our differences are interesting although one can never actually walk a mile in another person's shoes. Sleeping with any kind of top on in summer is new to me and not at all a nice experience so I can now better understand how people find hot nights an issue. Similarly, I am amazed at the time of night/early morning people post. Lately I wake much earlier - possible side effect of medication - and JKP finds it difficult to nod off. I definitely don't know how people function properly much less flourish without being fast asleep well before 11.00 pm. Kudos to you for that. That segways neatly into how we all handle managing The D/comorbidities differently. This thread has given me insights I would never have had otherwise. A BBQ is planned for here today - how does one fully enjoy such an event if one eats LC/Keto and needs to avoid the sun? #3 son, partner and grandchildren will be here so that is a blessing but a cup of tea with them would work as well for food and drink for me. I need to work through things logically so here's a song to remind me that even these days are gifts. Enjoy your day.

Hit 31 at 7pm yesterday @ianpspurs before starting to cool off. My ankles didn’t appreciate it. Lots of local families had children with them, some in prams, until well after 10pm - coolness probably plays a part. Aircon set to 18 degrees last night - bliss!

6.9 this morning.

Off to Oxburgh for for a lovely walk. Thank goodness it is lot cooler today. Then lunch is booked at The Twenty Church wardens. I have pre-ordered Trout.
Enjoy the walk and lunch which should help to balance that mammoth Zoom session. I reckon 30 minute chunks are about all most people can productively concentrate for when studying. Ignoring that is/was the cause of so much poor behaviour and underachievement in schools imho.

Fbg 6.6

A bit cooler last night, so better for me.

Wildlife nighttime video
Badgers & Foxes
A Badger finds a Fatball & a Fox acting strangely ...
43 secs

The small tatty looking magpie that appears to have adopted my garden as his home has broken the tops of my fatball feeders, and knocks them out. And so the badger finds a new ball on the ground...

This tatty magpie is half the size of a regular magpie, and is friends with my sparrows and hangs out with them...

Creative...a teasel in my garden as a kaleidoscope in Laboscope. This was taken while it was raining.

Have a good day...

Time for a cuppa tea.

Good news on last night being better for you to sleep and recharge your batteries. Thank you for sharing that wonderful kaleidoscope. Another thing I am learning is that so many people here are interested in, know the names of plants and wildlife and gain so much pleasure in so doing. I'm happy identifying and seeing grass, bark chip, a smart fence and a nice path here. I should probably feel guilty. JKP and MIL like plants and shrubs, they know and talk about names. Probably rudely I just instinctively glaze over, I just can't help it. I was relatively interested in such things when we lived in Cambs but more fruit and veg growing. Have a great day with all that flora and fauna.

Thanks for the sharing the art. Glad the Koffy was good and the aircon helped. Find some shade and relax.

Fbg this morning was 6.2 after a rather uncomfortable night breathing seemed a bit off at one point blood oxygen was 83% but back up to 92% much better.
Ade is cooking for us today since becoming a friar he has become a very good cook as he quite often cooks for all the brothers at the friary.
Was trawling through Judith’s family tree the other day and came across a 17th century 1st cousin of hers his name was Thomas Story who was a typical man about town complete with sword and fancy clothes until he became friends with William Penn and became a Quaker travelling with him to America where he helped Penn found Pennsylvania where he was voted in as the mayor of Philadelphia but refused to serve and had to pay a fine of £20 quite an interesting chap. Well perusing family trees is something to do at 3 AM when you can’t sleep isn’t it.

Thank you @ianpspurs
I didn't get much of an education as a small child, being considered stupid , but I had a flower, trees and bushes etc id book when I was about 7 years old by my Aunt (who I now know to be my birth mother, and a red penknife by my Uncle, who I now know to be my birth father, both useful items). And I set about learning how to id all wildlife and plants and trees around me. I have forgotten a lot of it now but it soon comes back, as the badger brings in more wild seeds and stuff into the garden...
We are just interested in what is important to us because of our surroundings as a child...

Probably good evening for you now? I have no idea.
Maybe some more coffee for you...
It is only 22C in my garden currrently...
My imagination has got that ground as a waterfall, and that tree is going sailing off down the waterfall into the cool pool of water below...
Don't mind me...just gone heat crazy...

Hugs for the oxygen reading going that low @JohnEGreen
A cup of strong black caffeine coffee can help me a little when difficulty breathing.
Hope you enjoy that lunch today!
Definitely trawl through family trees in the dead of night....
