What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

4.4 this morning after a night without sleep.
Take care @JohnEGreen
You need sleep.
I don't know the answer for this.
But for me, I do take naps during the day, and probably a longer one (1 to 4 hours) early to late afternoon.
I used to feel that was wrong (don't know why), and would fight it trying to keep going...but that didn't help me one jot.

If I can't sleep in that afternoon nap, then I just sit there, no reading, no internet with the frustrating powerlessness that comes with that internet.

Like I said, I cannot be of any help, but try and find a part of the day where you can just sit and be. Perhaps some music for a hearing person....

Peace and blessing be with you.

5.8 this lovely sunny morning.
Off to work in an hour or so. Mr K has just asked me if I have sent out the zoom invite for the late afternoon zoom class.

Good that he reminded me as I had forgotten to do that yesterday. Must look at how to set up a reminder on my phone. Surely that can't be too difficult.

Morning all from a quiet start in the cool of the morning here in L.A. Just me, the dogs, tea, breakfast and tablets for the BP. @JohnEGreen hug for the sleepless night. @Krystyna23040 where would you be without Mr K? :playful: A promising day yesterday which has now left Deuteronomy 1:37 , 3:26 , 4:21 in my mind. Interestingly JKP and myself sat at the edge of the Ouse with #3 son and partner yesterday afternoon enjoying a drink - lemon tea for me - before crossing the river and heading back here. I enjoyed and was very pleased for Celine Dion last night. I've never lived in Paris so can't properly compare but I do like it better than London. Summer is promised which will make your life difficult in that sauna @gennepher so advanced hugs. Enjoy your day if at all possible - I have plenty of tea and sport to watch but will give the horse dancing a miss.

Good morning everyone from a quiet and pleasantly cool start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.4 this a.m. which I only started experiencing from just before 8 - at least 2 hours later than usual. Pottering about yesterday and came across a speach by a James Stockdale called Courage Under Fire: Testing Epictetus's Doctrines in a Laboratory of Human Behavior - about how Stoicsm kept him going when a prisoner during the war in Viet Nam. Most interesting - but only if it interests you. No pomp in Paris last night. Mrs Miggins watched a film and I read. Council grass cutters have cut the borders down the lane and then all down the coast road. Just about a foot or two in from the road, leaving the rest to display their varying grasses and flowers. Prep day today in readiness for the arrival of our three granddaughters from Birmingham - we pick them up half way. They are staying for a week of buckets, spades and ice cream. Art bit - the start of a tree, or maybe not. Hope your day is a good one, @JohnEGreen I hope that you can get some sleep in. Best go and make some koffy.

7.15am FBG 5.7
Last night had our house listing pop up on Facebook. Am wondering if this will lead to more viewings. So now even more pressure to keep everywhere in house and garden clean and tidy. While MrSlim has severely dented his usefulness and is currently running at about 20% capacity. Unfortunately for bruised or cracked ribs the only cure is time.
Molehills formed overnight both outside and inside the greenhouse. No prizes for guessing where the trap will be today.
Watched the Olympic opening ceremony, some parts of it anyway. Loved the dancers on swaying poles, but the some of the fashion parade just made me want to laugh. Felt so sorry for everyone trapped in the pouring rain.
Imagine floating down the Seine singing while your accompanist's piano burns.

BG at 04.30 was 7.9 - still a hangover from Thursday's awful BG day. Up quite rapidly into the 8's and still there but I'm hoping that I will get it back to normal today.

Been trying to find a handyman to finish the work in the loft which Neil has finally acknowledged that he can't do, despite all the goggles and heavy masks he has been trying to use, the insulation still gets to his eyes and chest. There used to be lots of guys around who were willing to do little jobs around the place but they all seem to have gone into retirement and nobody new is filling the gap. We are now at a dead stop in getting the house back to something that doesn't look like a cross between a building site and a junk yard and we still have the hired container barring the entrance to our garden and costing £150 a month. It would probably be only one or 2 days work for someone who isn't bothered by the glass wool insulation, but I just can't find anyone.

Thanks Ian, but the day has gone wrong already.
Went to the post office in the mini market this morning to get some chilled goods, but alas, none of the tills were working, the scan function was not working, neither was the post office till. There must have been about 20 people in the shop wanting to buy their daily goods. They had been there some time waiting for the manager to sort it. They all eventually left empty handed.....

I am afraid Ms Trouble Maker here, said..."Why don't you put our purchases on the slate, and we'll pay you at the end of the month when our wages come in...."

Well, that was the cashless society in the 50's, 60's, and 70's and 80's that I experienced...

The manager gave me a look and went outside to phone head office...

I almost gave a funny for looking your back with humour to tough times. While I'm here I'll thank @dunelm for sharing the art - a tree you say, a departure from your norm. @Annb hug for the lack of a handyman.

I am working on defeating this impending heatwave @ianpspurs

Enjoy your granddaughters staying @dunelm
A tree...I'll look in tomorrow to see how it has grown...

And some folk want to get rid of cash. Everything now is on line or on an app. For travel, I always take a screen shot of tickets and then print them out - it’s a must for boarding cards when flying.

Thank you @ianpspurs - still haven’t decided if I should do more or just leave it.

Well done Em. Do let us know your thoughts about the TENS type footpad.
My TENS footpad (called MEDI-BOOST) has just arrived in the post. At the moment I am a bit daunted by the instructions on how to use and how not to use. Haven't put it all together and charged it yet but will do that shortly. It as to be charged for 3 hours before it can be used. I'm sure it won't be as complicated in use as it sounds from the instruction booklet. Legs are swelling, blisters developing and the skin is breaking in tiny spots now. Goodness knows what they'll look like by next Thursday. But I'm lucky in that it is no more than discomfort and sore skin - not disabling at all.

Yes, thank goodness Mr K was on the ball
