I heard that Fray Bentos steak and kidney pies are what Princess Ann serves at dinner parties - followed by a choc-ice for dessert as guests are ushered out of the door. That way they don't outstay their welcome.I know having Princess Ann coming to the island will cause a smidge of disruption but if you get to talk to her, ask her about Fray Bentos Steak and Kidney pies - it’s one of her go to foods - I kid you not. I have sat next to her twice at dinner engagements and she is a smashing person. OK, I know some folk don’t like the idea of a constitutional monarchy but I don’t like politicians and yet lots of folk seem to fall over themselves to vote them in even though they are only out for themselves no matter what flag they fly under.
Thanks @Annb - at 95, he is nearing end of life, very weak and his dementia, although not servere, is getting worse by the day. He will not get any better. Don’t think he will have to put up with it for much longer. We have though said our goodbyes over a splendid meal out earlier this year so all is at peace. I’m really going for my mum. He will probably go the way of Isocrates. No idea about the flavour of the protein shakes.Sorry to hear your Dad is not very well. Here's hoping you find him a bit better. Does the protein shake come in different flavours? The ones Tom used to have came in fruit flavours, some of which he quite liked.
Thank you @ianpspurs - I don’t think it will be long now but these things have a habit of not being very predictable and surprises do happen.@gennepher thank you for sharing another wonderful kaleidoscope - as George said, turned out nice again. Also, thanks for yesterday's after that Wednesday horribilis. @dunelm shame about the discomfort in your hands but thank you for sharing that splendid art. Sorry to hear about your dad - will he listen to words of wisdom from your brother or yourself? MIL is adept at feigning complete innocence when JKP reminds her what doctors have advised, especially over fluid intake. And yet, and yet she's made it to 4 months shy of 95.
I had to chuckle when I read your reply @gennepher. Can't wait to share with my neighbour. My dog always sat on the mobility scooter with me @LivingLightly ....
Parking wars - seems to be the on the increase. Bit petty and what an obnoxious neighbour getting all in a flux about you kindly taking in her parcel - good grief! Lovely kaleidoscope - that’s brightened up my day already.Fbg 7.1
Creative in Kaleider...from a bunch of flowers I bought myself. I think it is called Gerbera, the orange one, and the white is chrysanthemums. I was trying for cheerful!
Have a good day.
* I now have to try and get out of my driveway turning into the limited space left by two neighbours (opposite sides of the road) the way they park their cars opposite each other. I noted this on Wednesday's post that there was not enough space for the bin wagon to get through. But come Thursday morning, each had re parked their cars in exactly the same space, but half onto the pavement (They both have ample driveways to park on). And there is ample road space by theirs to park cards, but they way they park, they make it difficult...
However, once the recycle bin wagon had been, both cars were immediately back completely on the road again, with barely inches of room either side to pass. I don't know if they have a beef with each other or someone else in this close. Mr Insensitive, next door to me is unreasonable. And so is S over the road...I once took in a parcel for her (I was getting out of my car in my driveway) and the delivery man asked me to take it. So I did.
When S came back she was furious. But furious at me for taking it in. I had no right to take in her parcel.etc etc etc. I couldn't follow what she was saying. I am getting told off on my own front doorstep. And I am told never to take any more parcels in for her but in an aggressive manner.
When she finally left, I said to myself, never again...if I see a delivery man trying to deliver to a neighbour unsuccessfully, then duck...hide...but delivery guys leave parcels on the front doorstep in full sight of the road now anyway, drop and photo and run back to their vans, they don't ask neighbours to take in parcels any more...

That seems an awful neighbourhood you live in Gennepher. Everyone so unfriendly and even aggressive. Is everywhere on the mainland like that these days? Or have you just been unfortunate in your neighbours?Fbg 7.1

How strange that someone could get so angry with you for being a good neighbour and taking in a parcel for them. Usually people are so happy when neighbours accept parcels for them.Fbg 7.1

I need cheering up in this neighborhood!!!Parking wars - seems to be the on the increase. Bit petty and what an obnoxious neighbour getting all in a flux about you kindly taking in her parcel - good grief! Lovely kaleidoscope - that’s brightened up my day already.
My sympathies @dunelm for having to go out again for your meds.Good morning everyone on what appears to be the start of sun shiny day albeit at well below scorchio. Mrs Miggins is taking The Girl In The Bubble swimming today, leaving me with the important task of taking our slow cooker over to her sisters - she needs two for some cooking extraveganza in preparation for a family get together on Sunday. I wonder if I should tell her about the position of the slow cook/pressure cook valve as the writing has completely worn away or just leave it to a toss of a coin? Only half of my prescription is available - drat - I shall leave it to later in the day, after they have had their daily delivery of pills and potions and get the pleasure of another walk into town in the sunshine. Art bit - started yesterday - may take a couple of days. Hope your day goes well. I shall get some koffy on the go and then take Mrs Miggins a mug of tea.
Unfortunate in my neighbours @AnnbThat seems an awful neighbourhood you live in Gennepher. Everyone so unfriendly and even aggressive. Is everywhere on the mainland like that these days? Or have you just been unfortunate in your neighbours?
Thank you @Krystyna23040 for the kaleidoscope complimentHow strange that someone could get so angry with you for being a good neighbour and taking in a parcel for them. Usually people are so happy when neighbours accept parcels for them.
Your other neighbours are being really inconsiderate with their parking. That is also very strange behaviour - especially as they have plenty of parking space on their driveway.
I do love your kaleidoscope @gennepher
