Unfortunately, the difference between the distance and reading lens part of mine doesn't view well on my pc.
I got an offer with my varifocals, for my pc pair.
I get dry eyes and a bit of eye strain with my old pair.
Of course, before the recent eye test, that I knew my eyes had been get worse.
I hope that because of the new prescription, that the new ones are corrective effective.
I have noticed already an improvement.

I expected a more expensive pair but suppose that 2 pairs cost more than the one expensive pair.
 
This has reminded me that I need to make an appointment with my optician as I have to get the cataract in my left eye sorted and the optician would have to refer me until I get it sorted I won’t be able to get new glasses and I am having worsening problems with my vision on the left side.

It's suddenly gone from heatwave to icy winter.

I put a cat tray in the bathroom (don't read further if you are having breakfast...) for Midnight. He's always preferred my garden.
Midnight was excited. He does zoomies when he is excited....
Next time I went to the toilet, Midnight came flying in. Looked at me, looked at the cat tray, (he's a large cat, it's a small cat tray), he was mentally working out the logistics. Straddling the cat tray, gave a perfect aim.
And whatever I do, he does the same.
And he gives me a beautific smile, and appears to be saying, "Now we can toilet in unison".....
I need a peg on my nose when he does the same as me...

That took me back to my childhood on the farms I lived on. One had a wooden plank across the stream (it had a little wooden house around the wooden plank for privacy) at the end of the apple orchard, where the pigs lived (the pigs would be snortling under that gap at the bottom while you were in there; it was a bit of a balancing act for a child). You had to walk through the pigs to get to the toilet. In that plank was two holes, one for a child and a bigger one for an adult. It had been professionally made. There was a man in those days whose lifetime occupation was making these planks with holes in....

Memories of a batty old lady...I need a life....

Back to the present...

Creative is a photo of a cushion in my bed, put into Kaleider Kaleidoscopes. It had a very coarse weave. It made for interesting patterns...
This is the first bendy tube/tunnel that has been created. I can't repeat it yet!!!

Yes, @gennepher here in London the ambient temperature fell from above seasonal average to below the seasonal norm in a matter of hours, thanks to a shift in the jet stream.

Okay, that's not uncommon in September which the weather men and women insist on calling meterological Autumn, but it's not officially Autumn until 21 September marked by the equinox, when daylight and dark hours are equal. We could well get some more warm weather before Winter sets in.

I had not eaten for several hours @gennepher, so read on. Your post had me in stitches. Good to hear your resident robin is feeding outside your window once again, btw.

I was reading back into a diary and about the same date in September in 2018 exactly the same happened there was a sudden drop in temperature, so it looks like maybe it's the norm for September?
It is a good job you had not eaten for several hours when you read the rest of that post!

I was so happy the day my mother gave in and bought me a proper swimming costume. I think she unravelled the woolen costume and used the wool to knit a jumper.

No FBG today. Test kit still packed.
Very long journey. ETA originally 4.16, actual arrival time 7.39. All due to roadworks and congestion. For some time we were travelling at less than one mile an hour. Not actually stationary, but so very slow. Demanding, tiring driving for MrSlim. Later heavy rain, which stopped just before we arrived. Some jiggling of cars, caravan, motorhome and then trailer full of tools is squeezed into garage.
Today we will unload tools, mostly into the house, my daughter will be helping me, or I will be helping her, to clean and set up the caravan for MrSlim to live in.
He plans on measuring everywhere today and then ordering materials. Maybe he is a bit ambitious as there is probably a lot of clearing out to do before we can start on reconstruction.

Would have preferred a standard glass one but why spoil the excitement of a 4 year old going on 5. TK Max prices are usually pretty good (other strange outlets and emporia available).

Good morning everyone on a bright and sunny yet chilly start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.3 this a.m. Girl In The Bubble stayed over last night. We did some finger painting. She has now departed on the Mrs Miggins school run. No idea what today will bring so I am just going to enjoy this sunshine while it’s on offer. Art bit - a tree and something called “a flower in the sunshine”. Have a good day, I am now rushing off to try out my new koffy appliance.

People growing up after the 1950s don't know how lucky they are in not having experienced the knitted (garter stitch!) swimming costume. If there had been therapists in those days they would have needed a special qualification just to deal with the aftermath.

@JohnEGreen you will be amazed at how much better life is after the cataract surgery. I've had both done. It's very straightforward, and aftercare is simple. Heed what others here have said about not getting new glasses until your eyes have settled down. How wonderful to live nowadays and have these options.
 
Afternoon one and all. No known fbg here due to a combination of medical appointment and forgetting to take my phone to bed meaning no sensor in place and I'll be blowed if I finger prick. @gennepher thank you for sharing another wonderful kaleidoscope. @dunelm thank TGIB for sharing that tree - such a talent for one so young. Your tree and a flower in sunshine may need some work but call it naive art and flog it as an NFT. Meanwhile DJT fully leaned into the crazy uncle meme. @Krystyna23040 keep Poppy on a lead :eek: Swifty is a crazy childless cat woman - who knew? Enjoy as much of Wednesday as possible, I'mma hugging 4 grandchildren very close later but I won't do cats.

The oz will love Old Trafford in September. Maybe, more than likely, it will be rained off, it is manc land after all, they could take in one of many footie matches,.
a southern cricket commentator, said it was the coldest, wettest summer since 2015.
A spokesman for the northern leagues, saying it had been an impossible summer of weather disruption.
And having the best pitch technology and still not produce decent playing squares.
Some clubs couldn't play on the same strip twice.
Durham county cricket club announced the square wasn't ready for the season.
Lancs have one of the best squads in the U.K., But languish in the bottom of the league, due to the worse weather of any county club.
But the schedule should have been more realistic!
It is freezing now!

:-) . I have been informed that the answer is 42, but then so is 6x7 and 2x21.
