Good to read about the benefits you find in gardening. They mirror this and many other pieces on the subject. Flowers and shrubs have the opposite affect on me but mulching raspberries and pruning fruit trees gave me a rocky mountain (well virtually sea level) high but the principle, time outdoors with nature, is beneficial. Not sure how anyone in a fully urban environment has a real sense of the seasons - the nuances from day to day are very subtle. Take care and enjoy the planning.I think my objective was to be busy but not be needed every day, in case of bad weather. Giving both front and back a splash of colour for the majority of months. And still be able to just spend an hour or two or not, just for the tidy up.tie
I'm amazed at the transformation of both front and back, from when I retired. Having a couple of bob to spend on it helps. So does a outlet that sells a huge variety at good prices. Knowing the owner helps. He played for the footie team I coached many years back at the local youth club.
I'm also amazed that I have cut the lawn less than ten times only this year. And is still short.
When I did it on the footie pitches I looked after, it was almost every week and more in July/August.
Bloody global warming/ British cold and wetting its called.
Plans are to be discussed over a cuppa over the coming months as the mass of bluebells start.
I am partial to the Heck variety and the ones made by our local butcher that do not contain fillers like rusk, cat litter and ground up corks that sit, row upon row on supermarket shelves like DIY Botox filler kits. Propper Toulouse sausages are on point and the Germans and Poles make excellent sausages.I became a sausage trier outerer, when abroad, especially in Germany.
And I'm partial to hog the cocktail variants at buffets.

Lots going on and it must be pleasing to see your hard work bursting into colour. #3 son's partner is Lithuanian and sources Kielbasa sausages which are very pleasant. I too like proper Toulouse - and Merguez sausages. Heck seem very salty to me but my pet hate are Cumberland which seem way too spicy. I think you may have confused Trump's lies about Springfield Ohio with the eating habits of the whole USA. We Brits have been known to be partial to horse meat in ready meals.I'm sure I read somewhere that the awful hot dog sausage variety, sold in supermarkets best no resemblance to the original and has no nutritional value whatsoever.
