What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Not checking often these days, my numbers just don’t change….and that’s ok. I know my doctor will be very happy with my latest A1C even though I don’t think it’s good enough.
5.8 this morning. I usually run from 5.6 to6.5
were having some lovely fall weather with warm days, lots of sun(except today) and cool evenings. Getting tons of walking in, just the perfect weather for long adventures. Did hit the gym this morning for back, triceps and abs as yoga was cancelled today.

Libre 5.7 and dentist later, no food until lunch just toothpaste and water. @mojo37 despite being on a CGM for this month I am still finger pricking like a demented vampire as trying to compare results. Stupidly it has become a habit and without thinking I often go to the same finger and same place then wonder why it feels like I have put it in a blender-ouch. Sadly though I think finger pricking will be my go-to choice for many months ahead owing to the cost and being closer to what I hope are my HbA1c readings however the jury is still out on that score.

Hi all

Whenever I post here, which hasn’t been for a very long time it somehow feels like some kind of confession….

….. well since my last confession it’s been several years and my hba1c has crept up, and up.

I was pretty good at maintaining 42/43/44 that is pre diabetic levels but around a month ago I hit the manic 48 number

Now I’ve been pretty good at low carbing. I gave up actually counting the numbers way back but my back of the envelope adding gets to about 20 grams per day. Spread right out through the day with the occasional 24 hour fast thrown in. Maybe 5/ 6 times per year.

Every year it gets tougher

Over the last month I’ve gone further towards full carnivore and my morning numbers are at last back in the 5’s

Phew!

Well, that's not a bad habit IMO @ChrisT2.
Have you tried pricking your thumb for a change? The side of a thumb is often better upholstered than a finger.

Welcome back to this FBG thread @OrsonKartt. It's good to see you here again.

Logging my results here, it must be said, helps to keep me incentivised, especially when readings drift upwards due factors beyond my control like infection.

Once again, welcome.
