What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.1 this morning.
Mr K has had a reaction to either the covid or flu jab and it has wiped him out. Several class members have also reported that they have also been affected.

He said that he was freezing cold last night and couldn't sleep as he was so cold - which is so.not like him as I am usually the cold one.

Have just rung home and he is feeling a lot better after resting this morning.
We were not aware of any reaction to this year's flu vaccination @Krystyna23040 and I don't know of anyone affected. We've yet to be immunised against COVID.

I wish Mr K a steady recovery.

Monday 's FBG 4.2 mmol/l on waking at 6.00 am.

Mr K has tested positive for Covid so won't be back to his superstar self for a few more days. Yesterday he was negative but I tested him again this evening because I was a bit concerned about his feeling freezing cold.

Although I am still negative I have cancelled all classes for tomorrow as I can't risk passing it on to all class members and have also text my dentist to cancel my check up tomorrow.

This morning Fitbit flagged up my resting heart rate has gone higher. Could it be the vaccine or have I caught covid. Must buy more tests tomorrow.
Hugs for Mr K
I hope he recovers quickly @Krystyna23040
I hope you don't get it x

They are definitely colourful all over my garden. Grrrrf!
Bag them up for leaf mould next year, free compost and a great soil improver.
I never have enough leaf mould, the soil.here was unimproved clay and is very heavy to work with still, after several.years of digging in leaves and compost. If the house does not sell, I now have a source of manure, cow muck to be exact, but any manure is better than none.

Eating up the freezer. So an unusual dinner of beefburger and chips. Chip portion slightly larger than usual as insufficient for two portions, so finished the bag. After realised I could have just had half with extra veg. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Another viewing on Friday, despite the agents encouraging words, am assuming they have not heard back from the people who came last week.
Still weeding the drive, borrowed a strimmer and tidied up the garden a bit in places. So much to do out there.
Still using up the tomatoes, did I share a photo? This time a couple of kg yellow tomatoes, been sitting in the fridge for a while.
Have been noticing a change in Kiki, although her first response to a new, or sudden noise, is fear and flight, she rapidly changes to curiosity and emerges to watch what is happening. From a safe distance, of course. This is a really good sign that she is becoming more adaptable. Somehow I don't think she will ever achieve Errants level of trust and chill.
He would allow us to drive the ride on mower within a couple of feet, flattening his ears against the noise, but trusting us completely, knowing we were not going to run him over. A complete reversal of attitude from the Scaredy Cat we first noticed, who would flee at the sight of us in the distance.

Good morning everyone from the warmth of French Froggy France. A bit overcast but you can’t always get what you want Mr Jagger. It’s quite tiring spending a day sitting on a variety of public transport seats and thinking ‘so far, so good’ when multiple connections are coming down the pipeline. Today is all about shopping and doings some fixing up - which will include mending a crack in a glass door panel (wiv a fancy kit) and repairing a triple lock door locking mechanism - I shall use that experience to advise the govt on state pensions. Art bit - not actually painting a waterfall. An interesting art project in Lyon if interested. Hope you have a good day. Everything turns on your assumptions about it of course, but that’s on you as Marcus Aurelius might have observed. Must surely be time for koffy.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those of a gentle disposition. If you fit into this last category it might be prudent not to read my postings.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.6 I was expecting lower and thankfully the reading was not any lower.

Here in Tilehurst Towers knee pads are compulsory wear, Mrs J has ordained that I get on my hands and knees to scrub our lounge carpet. Unfortunately I know place and I must obey, supervision will be full on, toilet breaks will be timed. Tut tutting and foot tapping will be sound track accompanying my scrubbing motions…..

Yes dear I have knee pads on now……..

My SIL was quite poorly for a few days after her flu vaccine but has yet to have her covid one. I had to cancel my vaccination appointment because of my cold but have rescheduled it for tomorrow (both flu and covid). Fingers crossed.

8.2 at 05.00 today.

Sorry to hear that it’s Covid hope it’s mild and he recovers quickly.

When I had my appointment for dressing change on Thursday was talking to the nurse and covid came up in the conversation it turned out she had it twice first time when working on a covid ward and the second time she contacted it while giving jabs at a vaccination centre though she escaped hospitalisation on both occasions.
I am keeping fingers (and toes) crossed that it will be mild. It is a good sign that his temperature is back to normal already.

We thought it was a reaction to the vaccine so were a bit slow in testing for Covid, which it turned out to be. He has definitely improved today.

He is recovering faster than I thought he would. So far I am still negative "touch wood"

To be on the safe side I will also cancel tomorrow and Thursday. If I am still negative Friday I might do the Friday and Saturday classes.

Almost forgot to post fbg. It was 5.9 this morning.

Has been really busy. Had to dash into Norwich to bring back some of my stuff that I had left there for today.

Sent text messages about the class cancellations today and received lots of lovely messages back - which of course I have had to reply to. Must start on cancelling tomorrow's classes

Sorry to hear that Mr K, has come down with the dreaded lurgy, covid in any form is not nice at all.
Hope he recovers quickly.

Will you be making leafmould? @Lamont D. Handy for mulch, potting or soil conditioner, it's easier than a compost heap.
I remember seeing something similar at the old training ground.
but have never thought of doing one for my gardens.
plenty of !?!? leaves so I might consider finding a tub etc.
then again......... Probably not!
haven't really needed compost. Good fertile soil around here. It was farmland couple of centuries of more ago.
thanks for the suggestion.

Back up to 7mmols today.
Another manic Monday on a Tuesday.
Mrs L prescription arrived, no patches again. Second and third phone calls today to the surgery, apparently awaiting doctors signature. I ordered mine at the same time. Third was to pharmacy, to mention that both could be delivered when both filled out for delivery.
The first was to housing cos still not heard from electrician, and asked for clarity of appointment.
Didn't get it, just they will follow it up. Bah humbug. (Sorry, not chrimbo yet!)
Then the washing was done and with the weather, not using the washing line put it into drier, not working.
So half an hour later. Got it going eventually, thanks to my son again.
#8 kept me busy, during this time, great distraction.
Just wondering, which third machine will give me trouble. Grr!
@gennepher, just thought on.
If your surgery has no doctors, who signs the prescriptions?

My best wishes to you lot as always.

Fabulous bit of artwork ....
Thank you for posting .

Nearly didn't open.
I hate all those sneaky web sites, that makes you deselect so many options .

But I do get why they do it .

But persevered and glad I did .

Fur those who maybe didn't bother ..
Here's what ya missed
Details is incredible, I never noticed at first steps were drawn onto building. Thought I was just the camera angles. Doh...
