What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Poor Alf
I shall start this posting with good morning, but morning for me was must earlier in the day and decidedly dark. Things to do, places to go and hopefully arrangements to organise, all with a little joker in the mix.

Yep the joker was my morning blood sugars a drat, double drat 4.6

This value meant I had to wake Mrs J and ask her to drive me around, this means I will have to open my wallet and treat her to lunch after my plinky plonky lesson drat and drat again.
Now if you don’t mind I’m going to hide in a corner and cry cuddling my wallet.

6.8 at 05.00 today.

Just back from having my flu and covid jabs. Arms already a bit sore, but I think that might have been because the nurse wasn't as good at giving injections as some others have been. Normally I don't even feel the needles going in, but I certainly did this time. Just had an invite to go out this afternoon so I'm hoping I don't get any sudden onset side effects.

Still tired. Been awake since 4 am

I am assuming that I am tired because I have to sort out so much technology at the moment, including using some old Bluetooth technology from the 2009s which I got (paid for myself) to try and listen to music. The cochlear team at the time said I would not get anything by listening to music so they couldn't help me in that way. But I never listen to the word no, I never have. And so I spent quite a bit of money in 2010 to get some equipment that I could listen to music to and it was amazing compared to what I had before.

Still have all that old stuff, I have been rooting it out and connecting it up. I would say I was quite depressed at the moment especially with all this faff with the modern day today equipment which is not working at all or properly.

I need that music to stop me falling even deeper into that black hole. So to that end yesterday I had a very old device (Which doesn't connect up to my Wi-Fi but did to the weatherspoon's one) and I was downloading music to it in wetherspoons.

Once home I have two options... Either connected up to what I think is called a boombox, and play music full blast (easy to move around with), I am in a detached bungalow....

Or I can use Bluetooth, on the boom box, with it but I have to combine it with the mini mic and a bit of other equipment ,(a faff to set up)to be able to stream it directly to my processor...

This gives me much needed respite. Although I am a bit anchored to the spot with the second system...

The other thing I need is more fairy lights and the front room and my bedroom. Not the flashing sort that kind sends me demented. But just a stay still light that gently fades and fades back in again...

I think another shopping trip is in order from Amazon.....

Wildlife nighttime video...
Badgers & a Fox & a Cat
Time 40 odd seconds.
I would say that I am on a short fuse at the moment. Someone commented on this video saying something like 'what's happening here'...Really? I had already explained that these were nightly visitors... I replied "Cat sits on swing, fox enters stage left, badger enters stage right, and then they all go home all go home!' when I read it back thought I was being a little unfair to those less than their full daily quota of dolly mixtures, so I reworded it to what is on there now....

And on some days, I have less than my full quota of dolly mixtures, so it's applies to me as well...

Creative is the Kaleider app with the same subject as last night...

Now, I have no idea who else I could upset today but it might be a jolly good idea once I come offline, and just cuddled this cat...

It is raining, we have some yellow weather warnings for goodness knows what... And so therefore I think it is safe not to venture out.

Hug for feeling quite depressed but big positive for recognising the fact, being honest, feeling secure enough to share here and taking action on your own account with the music and lights. The creative is worthy of a winner but the general tenor of the post means I plumped for the hug. The yellow warning for the weather would hardly help most people's mood either. You have had a run of trials which would test the sunniest disposition but always seem to bounce back, such amazing resilience.

7 .1mmols this manic Monday on a Wednesday.

There was incidents and accidents again in the early hours.
Hints and allegations, in the dawn's early light.
Not stopped except to the phone calls.
First, to the housing. Nowt!
Second was dsn, half an hour going through the meds, the testing strips, the patches and so on.
Flu and covid jabs on a home visit, sometime soon.
Still gotta phone pharmacy again.

Drier playing up again, with the extra washing, it cannot go on the line because........
It started raining around the pm last night, and the amber warning certainly applies to the peninsula.
Both front and back are under water, indeed it's a swimming pool, and a duck pond on the footie pitches.
It is wet out there, really damp, moist, squishy, wishy-washy, torrential, persistently p..... down!I
So not going shop.
Eggs are boiling away very slowly.
Mrs L is having a nap.

More kitchen duties to do, not getting anywhere near the garden today.

My best wishes to you lot as always.

6.6 this morning. Today's Covid test is positive. I thought it would be because I am feeling decidedly rough with a headache and coughing and sneezing. Paracetamol has fixed the headache.

Will cancel next week's classes to keep everyone safe. Also, I don't want to teach while feeling under par.

Glad you had the jabs and hope there are no side effects to stop you having an afternoon out.

Good morning everyone from the darkness of pre dawn due to being an hour into the future in French Froggy France. Chores yesterday and Mrs Miggins got everything down from one of the two mezzanines for sorting and then gave the mezzanine a thorough cleaning. Lots of books, old tapes and another stash of CD’s to add to the 1500 or so already boxed up ready to go to new homes. Tackled the triple lock on the kitchen door - stripped out, cleaned, oiled and put back - time will tell if that will be enough. Lunch to prepare for guests today and some more sorting and disposing of ‘stuff’, mainly to the local Emmaus shop who recycle second hand goods. Art bit - a hint of yellow. Hope your day is a good one, I have decided to repeat last Thursday. But first, some koffy.
Nice pic, fits the the day nicely, from where I sit

Hug for the Covid but winner for promptly taking the sensible course of action for yourself and your clients. Would that everyone was so sensible. Take care and do rest - he says optimistically.

New Libre sensor arrived a short while ago great thinks I get it on boy in the process hit a vein blood every where one useless new Libre sensor what a day.
Hugs for @Lamont D for an even worse day and hugs for @gennepher for your day so far all I have had to contend with is a little blood and the loss of a few pounds not much in the scheme of things.

Been said many times here and elsewhere John, our problems are our problems however seemingly small compared to other people's. God doesn't disregard your problem and say I'm too busy for that because someone else has a "bigger" problem. We are not in a whatsit waving competition for problem size. If you cut me, do I not bleed? Or no job is too big, no Pup is too small, Chase is on the case :D Take care.

I'd very much echo @ianpspurs sentiments.

If only everyone followed your lead.

Best wishes you both recover asap.

Though I did smile at the slight knowing barb at the end of ians post .

How well we all know each other.... ;)

Ok, it's been one of those days.
Warning warning warning

So going to have to very:hilarious: circumspect in how I phrase this.

Imaginations at the ready .

A drunk lady customer arrives in store, very drunk.
Swinging wildly between "oh your SO cute' to pure vixen in seconds.

Try my best manage situation.
She someone's daughter, maybe a mother, she's someone to somebody .

So I go full on charm offensive, try my very best to placate her and get her to leave and return when sober....optimist me .lol

She's so not interested.

Insists I call the police for HER..

Anyway, one 101 call made.

While awaiting police to attend, I am sat near her, try in my best persuasive manners to get her to see the police arriving won't look good on her.

At which point she threatens to *mess me up ...but using a more fruity vernacular.

Because, and I paraphrase for politeness....

She has a *toy* in her bag, that ladies who might like others ladies, may find useful in making one of them 'happy'

To say I just didn't know what to say was an understatement.

Snorting with laughter I just walked away holding my sides... :hilarious:

Morning everyone on a slightly damp start here to a day which could see temperatures rise to 22°C. Nowhere near a UK record, that is currently the 29.9°C on October 1st 2011. I don't know so I can't share my fbg. @gennepher hug for the broken glasses and over heavy parcel but thank you for sharing that wonderful kaleidoscope. I hope the glasses from China arrive quickly and intact. @dunelm, a busy but productive day yesterday with more to come by the sounds of it. Thank you for sharing the art - the hints of yellow are splendid, quite Jodie Whittakeresque. This evening will see preparations for another passing out parade for General Waste Bin. I do feel my posts are rather like the Fool's description of Lear as an O without a shape. Anyhow, I genuinely hope you all enjoy even the smallest parts of your Wednesday but ideally the whole shebang.
Thank you @ianpspurs - Jodie would be saying Yeller.

Quiet day in the capital then. I've been told some gels like to rabbit on for ages :angelic:

I think the mood needs lightening so in no particular order a *msl (rhetorical I hope) question -

be'ave yourself and lie down for a while fella seems apt

and a wake up song - lyrics not overly cheerful but boy can Robertson wield that axe, all imho.

do these lesser knowledgeable press people (idiots)
Know that the majority of tournament finals are played in the summer month after a nine to ten month season of demanding premier league footie and Euro footie. Playing every three days during. And as we do struggle in the heat. It could be probable or even more likely that engerland will never win a major trophy.
I'm still not going on about the coach or the fact that indeed we do have a bit of talent. But I just can't see it.

And it is the same media, that told you need it would be brilliant.
And we know how that turned out.

Oh...boy...I needed that belly laugh... @jjraak

I am not feeling well, coming down with a fever. Covid testing is nil...

I don't do illnesses. I am never sick. But I do need that large steam vaporiser I have...
