What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all from a bright and calm start here which is in stark contrast to poor @gennepher's night and some health metrics. Hugs, thoughts and prayers seem totally inadequate, as is the current full force of the law it seems. I hope the process of either making or simply sharing a creative somehow gives you peace. @dunelm a fascinating post which would doubtless provoke beard scratching and endless hmm, could you just unpack the use of (insert word or phrase of choice ) for me before inexplicably linking that to your toilet training. If you shared the painting as well, goodness knows what issues and neuroses you never had, never will nor ever could have, would be diagnosed. Very bleak piece for me - not even a thrush :D - must be that pot of grey: good job you didn't use the other 49 shades. Judging by Genn's approval this piece, as indeed is the whole series, is technically accomplished. My visual palate has been ruined sir, I tell you, ruined by too much ultra-processed art:my bad. Enjoy the Burns night celebrations. We have haggis and the usual "sides" but no piper. Obviously not an LC adjacent meal but I don't have the bandwith today to even try to pretend I can make this way of eating deliver all of pleasure, nutrition and bg control. Spoiler alert I'm pretty sure that originates from the same school of somewhere over the rainbow thinking as Bazball and Angeball. After all that do enjoy your Saturday :playful:
Thank you @ianpspurs
Yes, creating stuff helps...

Thank you for sharing the wonderful creative which I hope proved helpful in reorientng the day towards a more calming place. I've no idea what @jjraak will see but there's certainly plenty of scope there including Siamese cats with ear muffs, centipedes and the Mekon - no Dan Dare though. :D
Yes Ian... creating stuff helps.
It always did.
I disappear into my own world....
The best therapy probably....

8.3 at 05.15 today. Up a bit then, after a cup of tea to 9.5 and still there or thereabouts.

My odd heart thing started up again yesterday evening. It may be something to do with the new pills the GP prescribed instead of my previous 2 diuretics. It settled down overnight and I've taken the same pill again today (along with all the others) and I'll see what happens. If it does it again, I shan't take the pill tomorrow and will get in touch with the GP again and see what he says.

Gennepher, I can only reitereate what others have said about that awful experience. I can see how that would make your feel and I'm not surprised at your high BG after such a stressful night. I imagine doing something creative will help with that stress level and should help to bring your BG down a bit. Do be good to yourself and, although you can't forget the past, try to set it aside and not to worry about it. You have enough to contend with in the present to let someone else's misdemeanors from the past affect your life. Easy to say, of course, but not so easy to do.

Thank you @Annb for your words.
The whole thing went on for 15 years. I did not know it was him doing stuff for a long time. Then when I did, I tried using a mediator, but that was useless. The police didn't believe me for a long time. But then they did, and used my house for surveillance. But the stalker knew they were next door to him.
I am amazed how stupid the police were thinking they were undercover. Just a wall between them and him...

Every day I remember....

Today I have decided to order brighter curtains for my bungalow...
Next week, I will buy some flowering bulbs. I can't put them in the ground in the front garden because the new badgers are digging it up. But I could make some macrame thingies you made in the 70's, and hang the plant pots of the flowering bulbs from the trees.
The present is important, not the past, but we should always remember the lessons from the past...

Thanks @Lamont D I have the beanie hat with a torch in the front, on my head. I have a flask of tea. I have the black 'electric' fur blanket....
I hope you are okay...

I fell asleep writing this...was replying last night....just woke up now still holding the phone....
Fine here, no damage, except for my outside thermometer. It doesn't tell you the temperature now

No FBG for many reasons.
@gennepher those nightmares are extreme and the aftermath of such can be debilitating (another fine word)for a couple of days, the tiredness, lethargy and horrid thoughts which won't go away.
It is also the discomfort in your demeanour as well, acing, sweating and an awful flight response to the day.
It is awful, I hope you do feel better soon, and good plans, get them bulbs in early.

footie day today, also Yorkie #2 grandson came for a visit, went to game, sorry the rest of my clan took me to the game. (!!!) Enjoyed the outing and the clan enjoyed it as well.
They had memorial day today. And cos of my working for them, I knew quite a few of them. Sad, especially those who were friends and taken too early.

Mrs L has had a quiet day today, the grandkids did cheer her up.

That is it folks for now.
Busy day again today.
How do I do it? #7 asked, as she asked for chips and pop, during the first half.
I just do what I gotta do. (Four Tops)

I have just had a nightmare so I'm well awake.
It is one that repeats. From a real event...
It was from where I was stalked for many years.
The nightmare always begins in the road, or I might be above as if I am a drone.
The man who stalked me lived next door to me. It was a semi-detached house.
Each nightmare is a new event.
I can vividly remember every one of my nightmares on this. They come back with each new nightmare.

I am standing in the road it is eerily dark and sinister, although it is daytime. These houses are Edwardian houses with pseudo wood black panelling and white plasterboard. It has been a small gated cul-de-sac, the houses all built by a great aunt of the man who stalked me.
In my nightmare it was dark and sinister and all the houses were painted black at the front the whole of the front of the houses, the doors, everything. Some/all of the houses have the doors boarded up and that was all painted black as well.
My house was boarded up, all painted black just like the others.

The only one house which had the door open was the man who stalked me. There was light from a yellow electric light bulb coming through the open door, which is right next to the front door of my house. It had been smashed open and there was wreckage in the hallway.

I walked past to the next house which was the first house in the road. In front of this house by the pavement was a white porcelain sink which had running water and 'invited' me to use it.
I turned on the tap and wash my hands, but the sink drain was blocked and the water did not go down the drain hole.

There was much more to this nightmare.

I woke up and I had to make a hasty trip to the bathroom. My heart was pounding but yet it wasn't. It was like a very low level pounding in my whole body.

The cat (Midnight) vanished, and I prayed that was not screaming or anything as I woke up, but no police arrived so hopefully I was not.

When I get one of these nightmares, although this was the strangest one in one yet as in the houses all being boarded up and painted a dull black, I check GRO deaths. And there are a few other things I check as well. I will never be free until I see a GRO death certificate.

He was arrested in a police raid, and I came back home just after it happened. I was in my car. And my house had that tape across everything as well as his house.

There was a press photographer there intent on taking photos of the stalker's house, and the police coming in and out, who did not realise I was part of this. The detective amongst the group of detectives who had been using my house for surveillance on the stalker the past few months, signalled me from his car to wait. Several of them came to my car door, told me to keep my head down, and got me in my house before the photographer realised anything.

There is more to this, but it would only take you seconds to find out if I gave any more detail.

I thought my ordeal was over. But it wasn't, it carried on and followed me here.

That cul-de-sac was full of secrets. Which I learnt from two of the older residents. One of them was bedridden and used to command me to go and listen to her for an afternoon, and then when she was tired I was dismissed. The other resident who appeared to be her arch enemy, neither of them spoke to each other, gave me a different side of the stories....

The stalker was taken away, and locked up. He was not locked away for long enough and is now living back in his old house next to mine.
So when I was informed he was out, I then checked periodically, that he was still living there, and the GRO death register.
That is horrible @gennepher. I do hope that you have a better night tonight.

A tad windy here.
A lot of fallen old oak trees in the roads around here...
Nighttime wildlife videos.
Badger Willow & Cat Merlin. I have had a break from posting because these new badgers, Willow & Thor only come for a short period each night. This video is over 2 nights.

Creative is a kaleidoscope of some stuff in the front room that I had tidied, but Cat Midnight decided to climb over it and looked innocent at me as he and my tidy pile slipped everywhere...and this was the result...

Right, stuff to do...

Have your best day...

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

Blood sugars yesterday were 4.4 , whoops and today 5.1

Yesterday was not good I had to climb ladders to fix my Parthenon, as I call my gazebo roof and guttering system, not something one should do when your day starts with low blood sugars. Today I shall be tinkering with my motorcycle in my garage, in the dry and hopefully warm.

Well that was yesterday and my plans for today, but as Mrs J has not surfaced yet, things could change…….

Me, me’s and myself hope you all have the best day you possibly can, smile at adversity and if adversity challenges you, just blame it on an episode of flatulence.

Stay safe, stay warm.

Good morning everyone and welcome to the morning after Burns Night where candles are banned, just in case. Health and safety gone mad! Swords mind, that seems just fine and dandy and can be left laying about on the floor for folk to stumble over. Anyhow, all that fuss over a giant sausage. Mrs Miggins and her two sisters each had different patterned tartans, all the same clan of course; dress, ancient hunting and modern hunting - yeh right! Someone is making a killing - probably in Edinburgh, somewhere along that fancy mile where there is a pub called The World’s End - but it isn’t now due to poor building regulations. Shared a taxi home so a trip to pick up the car later. The Girl In The Bubble is coming this afternoon and staying over so there will be a school run in the morning, what fun! Art bit - a bunch of trees, postcard size, a portrait of a landscape. Hope your day gives you a smile. Best make more koffy.
