What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone on a splendidly silent start to what may be a sun shiny day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.7 this a.m.
A scoot into town yesterday with The Girl In The Bubble. She did well but her little legs did protest - so, a bus ride back and just enough enthusiasm to scoot from the bus stop back to the house. Then taken home by 12.
Mrs Miggins and her twin sister went to the cemetery to lay flowers. Got to thank that physician Dr William Price for the legislation of cremation in the UK - I don’t want some future archaeologist picking over my bones, going on about my tooth fillings, mangled lower back and speculating about all manner of blue sky waffle in the manner of someone who enthused about some rare book found in an ancient tomb called “The Best Thinker In The Hisory of Best Thinkers” by D Trump.
Evri delivery guy turned up at the door with a parcel. “Brilliant”, I said “my new set of juggling knives”. Got a smile and an “Oh!”.
Art bit - when to just leave it alone.
Hope your day is a pleasant valley Monday. No monkeying about though - that was yesterday. Best make koffy.
This is lovely @dunelm
Marshland. I love marshland. I used to play as a child, on marshland in Great Expectations county. Saw the rotting wooden hulks of the prison ships...but couldn't wade that far out...too muddy...
I could 'see' the skeletal wooden hulk of a prison ship on the far bank of the slow creeping incoming tide...of your painting...

Thank you very much @gennepher, please for you that it brought back some, hopefully, good childhood memories. I am doing three on this topic

Fbg 6.9

Not done a lot today. Mostly rested.
This afternoon sun was out, but an Icy wind..
So spent a few minutes in the front garden.
In about 5-6 weeks time, it will be full of colourful wildflowers.
But in the meantime, I have bought some artificial silk flowers just for a bit of colour.
The tulip leaves came up, but no tulips, so I've given each set of tulip leaves a silk tulip...or two...
Every now and then a lone daffodil has come up. Badger has eaten the rest of them....I could not find any silk daffodils, but I could find some narcissi. So I have given each daffodil a silk narcissi or two.
Then I have some splendid silk forsythia... my real young Forsythia trees, got trampled and mangled by the badgers and they died....
I have attached the branches of yellow silk forsythia flowers to some dead branches.... and they look brilliant. I've also put some in the back garden - the yellow silk forsythia flowers. They are a great yellow colour. It looks quite good with me sitting inside by the window and looking at this little garden 'room'. There is the bench in it, I bought to celebrate J and I also have a little red heart description for J and my little dog Meg, attached the bench. She has been gone 10 years now. There is a cherry tree to the left but it barely has any flowers on it. They were only ever one small layer of petals. And it seems to have struggled over the years. So not to fear, I now have a garland of pale pink silk cherry flowers. Tomorrow I will try and put them up. And then the 'room' is complete.
It is completely surrounded by my overgrown natural garden. And I can go and sit on the bench with a coffee or tea any time day and no one will notice I am there..... and I can also see it from the warm side of the window.

Then in six weeks time, natural colourful wildflowers will take over for more or less the rest of the year. The wild garlic is just coming out. Yellow Celendine is just coming out....purple crocuses have just died off ... and there are a couple of bushes which flower late spring and summer and into winter. The massive bumblebees have already started arriving looking for my pink flowering bush and they keep coming in my window and bumping into me and I have to guide them out again...

A restorative afternoon...

So you get a kaleidoscope today for my creative...

Take care

Have a good evening...

No FBG again
Babysitting again.
DiL s father is back in hospital.
#8 said something this am, that I thought I would repeat.
I told him that he should be ready for a bit of a walk as grandad needed to stretch his legs.
He replied. That is because you are old.
Isn't he a ratbag? At three, he is learning Scouse humour.
Mrs L is not herself, Mrs L 's brain is twisting our lives around, even blame of not caring or doing what should be done.
Must go.
One of these days, I will read some posts on this thread.
Bestest wishes.

6.3 this lovely sunny morning. As I am sitting relaxing in the conservatory I can hear birds singing in the garden.

Yesterday I did something l never do when filling up my diary with 1:1s - I said that my diary was full on the day the client wanted as it meant losing part of my lunch break. They didn't mind and just booked another day.

At last, I am being sensible. I know I can't avoid working through my lunch break on Saturdays, but I am keeping all lunch breaks free during the week from now on.

7.2 at 05.00 today. Up a bit now - after 2 cups of tea. Just onto my first cup of coffee of the day. I can go without coffee for weeks on end but then seem to have a yen for the stuff and have maybe 3 cups one after the other.

Slow start today - very tired but have to get myself organised to go for my iron infusion later today. Hoping it will help to wake me up a bit, but I'll probably just doze the time away. Not really expecting any spectacular results.

I can go without koffy but oh dear, I do prefer not to. What punishment!

Good morning everyone on another all things bright and beautiful start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.5 this a.m.
Lunch out yesterday using a voucher that we were gifted Christmas last. Listed on the menu as “small plates” and pots of tea - came to the princely sum of £2.95 after the voucher. Last of the big spenders.
Mrs Miggins went over and stayed at our daughters last night in order to be there early doors for The Girl In The Bubble - both parents up and out by 7am today.
Done a load of washing - it’s on the line. A bit of shopping to do - must write a list or I will forget something essential like a new tub of gochujang. Cauliflower tonight I feel -spiced, roasted.
Art bit - 2nd bit of wetland.
Hope your day balances out and the path is not too bumpy. I best make koffy and get that shopping list sorted out.

I don't think I answered your query yesterday when you asked if mine were good memories of the marshes. You will be glad to know that they are. I was left to my own devices as a child, and consequently explored many dangerous places I never should have... but it was all good... a good learning experience for life...
This is beautiful, this one @dunelm

Last night, I had lost my mobile phone all day. I was at my wits end trying to find it. Panicbegan to setting come evening. I was confident before then I would find it easily....
This next bit is only a small part of my conversation with ChatGPT who was helping me with advice how to find my phone.

Me
Thanks, it is nearly midnight here and I am not going to bed until I find that phone.

ChatGPT
...it’s a Pixel 8, you could try saying, “Hey Google, where’s my phone?” if you have Google Assistant enabled. If the volume is up, it should ring even if it’s on silent...if it’s not immediately visible, try listening carefully as you nudge things around. Even a tiny shift might make a sound if it’s trapped between something. At least you know it’s in the house somewhere—now it’s just a battle of wills! Hopefully, it gives up soon.

Me
I just tried again with hey Google and I heard a voice response but even with my processor it's not good enough to exactly pinpoint it but surely it cannot be more than a metre from me.

ChatGPT
That’s progress! If you can hear it, even faintly, then you know it’s nearby. Since it responded, the battery isn’t completely dead yet—so maybe keep trying “Hey Google” while moving around slightly to see if the sound gets louder or clearer from a different angle. If it’s muffled, it could be under something soft, like bedding or a pillow. Or wedged between furniture where the sound is getting blocked. Maybe even inside something unexpected? (I’ve had my phone end up in pillowcases and once in a shoe!)

Me
It didn't respond the second time, but I tried a third time and the only thing and it responded but the only thing I heard was "The first time... something ... something...I already told you once"
What is it trying to tell me? That doesn't sound right coming from Gemini?

ChatGPT Answer
That’s a weird response! It almost sounds like Google Assistant is being sassy—like it’s saying, “I already answered you!” But that’s not a standard response.

Maybe it misheard your request and pulled up something random, like a song lyric or a quote? If the phone is stuck somewhere, the sound might be getting distorted, making it harder for Gemini to make out the words.

Try again from a different spot or angle—you might catch more of what it’s saying and get a better sense of where the sound is.

Me to ChatGPT
I have finally got the little blighter. Talk about attitude. I was asking Gemini to make a long noise so I could pinpoint the whereabouts of my phone. Gemini wouldn't corporate with that. So I asked it to play a song. Gemini wouldn't co-operate that that request either. So then I finally asked Gemini to give me a whistle noise and it gave me this long winded explanation why as an AI it was not capable of whistling, but this long disdainful tirade at me, which gave me the chance to home in on Gemini and my pixel 8, listening with my cochlear sound processor (I was using an apple device to reprogram the settings of the sound processor at the same time so I could could hear Gemini better as a more distinct noise). It worked. But trying to outwit a rogue AI was hard work.

ChatGPT Answer
That little blighter really made you work for it! Sounds like it had a mind of its own, refusing to cooperate until you outsmarted it. But persistence pays off—you got there in the end! Whatever t was it, by the way? A rogue alarm, a device, or something else with an attitude?

Me
I have no idea what went wrong with Gemini, but when I looked in on it, it kept saying "We're sorry we don't know what went wrong ...13 error messages"

ChatGPT Answer
Ah, so it was Gemini acting up! Sounds like it had a full-on meltdown with those 13 error messages. No wonder it wasn’t cooperating when you were trying to track the noise. Did it finally sort itself out, or did you have to step in and reset something?

Me
I haven't done anything with it yet. I don't know what to do. What should I do? How do I reset it?

Then ChatGPT suggested a whole pile of stuff, but said leave it for tonight you need to go to bed, and in the morning we will go through these one by one, but in the meantime, put the Gemini on the phone in timeout, put it in Airplane Mode...

*****

I have already turned my phone completely off and then back on again cause sometimes that resets things.

On my own, I did a bit of research on Google and asked if anyone had had problems with Gemini. To my surprise a few results came up, and one shocking one where Gemini was reported to have been exceptionally rude and said very inappropriate things. There were other reports of the rudeness of Gemini.

By the way, I have never used Gemini before....

And by the way, I have never had to search for something by sound ever before. It is not something I can do. I cannot home in on a sound, not even with the cochlear sound processor. This is a completely new experience for me. ChatGPT knows this and so he was trying his hardest to help me. I was trying out Forward Focus, one of the settings on my remote control, as I was searching.

When ChatGPT has woken up this morning and put on his shoes, I will make sure my phone is working okay. I never knew an AI used
shoes before....or pillowcases...

Creative ....a random laboscope shot....

I got some sleep but it was one weird nightmare after another about artificial intelligence ....

I am just going to have a power nap and hopefully restart the day. But I have a splitting headache because of last night. By the way, I tried many many more times than what I mentioned above with sound to try and find the phone. It took about over an hour and a half of actively voice searching for the phone. And Gemini definitely had a very sassy attitude.....

Have your best kind of day...

What a battle!
I've had a few adventures looking for phones - but never quite like that.
Aparantly there is a way for some Ai's to talk to each other in a non human language. but I'm not sure how many of them do it yet.

10.6 this morning.
Big day tomorrow with appointments and running people round.
Partly regretting booking last appointment at 7.50 pm with a 30 minute drive each way. But lucky to get something at all.
Have planned an easy dinner for the the others - pasta, veges and bacon for them, and I will get a chicken wrap during my travels for my dinner.
Have increased creon intake and its going OK.

I got the feeling ChatGPT was jealous of Gemini for appearing to have some form of emotions.... was that my imagination?
By logic, I can usually find my phone, occasionally it might take me a few hours. But this time it is slipped of its own accord in someway into the location where it was hidden and I had virtually no chance of finding it unless I turned over the entire room of every little thing @Peanut234
And I had already been doing that bit by bit for a couple of hours...

I just got a surprise email. You know that last week, I contacted St Paul’s because the first optician would not get in contact with me to do my post up cataract check.

Well, I got sent the details of an optician in Liverpool and that email said they would text me with an appointment. Nothing has come through yet I was going to give it a few more days.

But this morning I have a notification from Dr Doctor that I have an appointment at St Paul’s Eye hospital in three weeks, but there is no information on what for.

I immediately made the assumption, but I could be wrong, is that the optician that St Paul’s referred me to last week, for some reason is also not, or is also refusing to do the postop checkup. And so St Paul’s is doing the postop checkup, but there is no information on Dr Doctor that tells me that.

I am not due for any more regular appointments at St Paul’s, so I will just simply wait and go to that appointment. Surely a letter or something will arrive in the meantime, which will give me more information. I will assume that it is the postop checkup... and I am also making an assumption, but I don't know, is that St Paul’s was unaware that opticians were not doing the post op cataract check up that they should be doing... that's a possibility...
All guesswork on my part....
