What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Still awaiting social services.
FBG has been hovering around 7mmols.
No time to myself.
I think I have fell off the metaphorical tether!
Weather is beautiful, garden is beautiful, I'm a mess.
I've been told, I should consider counselling again.
Ah well, whatever it takes!

My best wishes to you lot as usual.

Too hot today, looked like it was going to thunder but didn't...
Too tired to sort and tidy.... waiting for it to cool down... then maybe I can do something...

Creative is the Mallow I can see immediately outside my window. It is usually absolutely covered in bees, but I don't know where the bees are today...

Neuralgia playing up today...and my toes feel like firecrackers being set off...

Trail camera...
Badger Willow is investigating the humane catch&release mouse trap...
This was wedged along my bedroom wall underneath the doorstep. But Badger Willow unwedged it, and used it as a plaything. I found it at the end of my garden in the morning.
This is what the badger does with my garden tools, and other things in my garden, he investigates and hides some in different places in the garden.
I have brought it indoors for the moment ...

Victor Hugo house looks like a good visit, the journey not so much. I don’t travel abroad now unless I really must - visiting my mother is about it at present - always awful at airports and seaport.
There are several other interesting place to visit on Guernsey. We managed a very brief look at Castle Cornet before we had to dash for the ferry.

The ferry had been previously owned and run by Condor Ferries. It had been taken over by Brittany ferries, but only the day before our trip. Am expecting Brittany Ferries to upgrade the awful facilities.
Part of MrSlims annoyance is that he now lives up to his name. The trousers he was wearing were at least three sizes too big and definitely would have fallen down without the belt. So he was stuck holding them up for maybe ten minutes while we waited for our boxes of belongings to be returned to us after scanning. Like many men, MrSlim dislikes shopping for clothes, but perhaps he will now see the urgent need for new trousers.

Woke late and had quick check of the garden before FBG. Pansies are still suffering from snail depredations. And one mangetout plant has been nibbled. But here we have hardly any slugs and not a lot of snails, so damage is minimal.
There are two tomato plants I bought ages ago, neither looks healthy but I have decided to plant them out anyway. Perhaps that will help them. Actually any kind of attention would help - they got forgotten and dried out, then the weather was too cold, altogether am surprised they survived at all. So I need to dig over and deweed, another length of the long bed down the left side of the garden. Probably towards the end where the morning sun lands first.

From this photo you can see that our garden and Victor Hugos are a very similar shape. Sadly though, we have no mature trees and neither do we have the century needed to grow them.

Thank you so much for sharing the video@gennepher. I used to look forward to your daily videos of the antics in your garden and have really missed them as I don't do TikTok or Instagram. Beautiful mallow flowers too. Hope you manage to keep cool during the next few hot days. Best wishes.

BG at 05.20 today was 9.5. Late up because I was late to bed (02.30) because I got into one of those lines of ancestors that Find My Past presents. Looks interesting but it will take a lot of checking. I have one line which FMP shows as one lot of ancestors and Ancestry shows as something completely different. Still trying to confirm one or other, but it may be neither. These sites are useful for finding hints of where to look, but are, by no means, accurate in their connections. Sometimes it's difficult to find out the true connections though, especially only having access to the internet. sometimes a local family history society might help, but they don't always offer assistance.

I have one, not too distant relative (3x great grandfather) who lived and died in Warminster and I always thought that he married someone called Elizabeth. That seems to be right enough, but different records show her as having different maiden surnames and different ancestors. Both ladies' records show them as living at his address at the same date. I had decided to stick with the first one I had found (seemed reasonable) and rather regarded the second one as an interloper but Ancestry DNA has given me a link to the second family. So all those records must be wrong - hundreds of people to eliminate from my family tree. Haven't had the heart to do it yet. I still want to find out the reason for the confusion first - maybe both names were used by the same lady for some reason. So I am left wondering if I am a "Sly" or a "Doddimead" - or both!

Thank you @dogslife

If you do YouTube, I can swap doing TikTok and put YouTube on instead if you helps you to see them... TikTok is playing up at the moment and it's not connecting the link properly... just say the word and I'll not bother with TikTok and see if YouTube does the link better... it's okay if you'd like me to do that...

It is too hot here. I hope you are faring better than I am....

It is really warm here @gennepher, beautiful day and I managed a couple of hours having a chill as Mrs L had an afternoon nap.
A lot more phone calls and slowly moving forwards. Maybe early next week something will happen.
My FBG is suffering because of the stress I have been feeling. 7.9 this am, highest for a long, long time, stress eating.
Just feeling I don't want to face the next day, because of the amount of stuff I need to do, just to get through the day.
Mrs L fed a cake to the carpet, this morning.
Then dropped her favourite cup on the same carpet, Mrs L was more concerned for the cup than the clean up.
All while I was doing kitchen duties. It just doesn't stop.
Have to go.
Best wishes.

I was working on how to delete 23&me today.
Because I received a chapter 11 notice. They are filing for bankruptcy but there are different types of bankruptcy and this one means that it is going to be sold at the end of June but it means a new owners get the right to all your stuff so I need to delete everything, but I need to do it carefully.... and I nearly forgot this post...

Been up for an hour pottering about, now need to decide, fast longer or drink the coffee I just made for myself?
Trying to catch up with housework although it's a bit pointless - HH is coming today and both he and MrSlim will be making more dust and mess.

Had to look up what 23&me is - good luck with the deleting. Interesting kaleidoscope

Good morning everyone on a fine and sunny start to bin day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.4 this a.m.
Into town first thing yesterday to collect train tickets. I am going to a living wake in Durham tomorrow. A bit unusual perhaps but he gets to have a party with friends and family before it gets too late.
The Ninky Nonks were at The University of Birmingham last night for education awards. One won the Year 3 award for Art and one won the Year 3 award for Sport - way to go The Ninky Nonks as they say in the state of the Orange King.
Art bit - mixed media - random blobs of watercolour and then some ink.
Hope your day goes well. I resolve to stay in the moment and drink koffy.

That is very kind of you@gennepher. Please do what is the most convenient for you. If YouTube works well please let me know so I can find your videos. Thank you. :)

9.8 at 0.400 today. Since then, been up to 15's but down again after insulin and breakfast to 8.7.

Legs day today, so better get a move on and finish this cup of coffee before organising myself to get out of the house.

Another interesting clue in the family history search yesterday - Alice Chaucer, grandaughter of the great man married a Neville. Now, I only have to confirm that my Nevilles are the same ones, and hey presto! We have another poet in the family.
