What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

10.1

Took reading slightly earlier than usual as up for GP telephone appointment. She reckons my difficulties getting a blood drop may be due to having deep capillaries - I have inherited elusive arm veins which challenge phlebotomists so she's probably right. There go my hopes of ever getting a reading in bed sigh.

So I saw my new GP yesterday who has prescribed Propranolol for me. I clench my teeth which I think is causing neck issues. I need to relax more. Doc warned me that one of the side effects is that they can lower blood sugar. i said thank you very much and I now wait in hopeful anticipation.

Bloods 7.1 this morning, little wonder I am clenching my teeth.

libre 5.2 currently. got woken up just after 5am with libre alarm at 3.8 didn't bother to eat anything just paid some more attention to it (putting it down to compression low even though wasnt leaning on it) took around half an hour to start to slowly rise, breakfast shortly then pool for a swim planned.

dr's surgery has decided its time for a diabetic review and sent me an appt. I'm seriously considering to try reschedule it as its just 2 weeks shy of hospistal appt where there going to try get bloods followed by dsn appt. is there any point of both? :O

8.6 this morning. To be expected as food in Greece is for diabetics not so much as "bad choice" but "bad there isn't anything else." It's all pasta, pitta bread and potatoes, some meat OK and greek yoghurt for breakfast but even the yoghurt is pre-loaded with honey. Very naughty but rather nice. It's only for a week and I might even find an empty spot on the beach.

due to the above can't help but feel you maybe able to push for a cgm.
it might be worth if you haven't already take advantage of libre alongside dexcom's free trials? armed with a at least a couple of weeks data, maybe its possible for you to have it prescribed if it works well for you considering monitoring is essential for ongoing treatment of diabetic condition.

enclosed is links to both trails:
https://www.dexcom.com/en-GB/one-plus-campaign-sample? 10 day trial dexcom 1.
https://www.freestyle.abbott/uk-en/getting-started/sampling.html 15 day libre2plus trial.

Have you considered seeing the dentist for a gum shield to wear in the night? My daughter did this as she was getting migraines.

@ChrisT2 that looks like paradise, where about in Greece are you?

5.3 @ 7:30. It’s foggy here but supposed to clear later this morning.
Have a good day whatever you’re up to x

absolutely stunning!

Woke up this morning six point one on libre.

Went about my day and kept on noticing unusual climb. Over eight at one stage and sure I’m moving stuff and being busy before food but not really hungry and most unusual readings for me

Thought well maybe I should eat. A packet of smoked salmon and some prawns later and back to it

I fell . Really not sure how or why ? Connected with unusually high blood glucose ? Correlation or cause ?

Who knows ?

One bloody knee later I’m resting

At least it’s sunny !
