What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

A much more quieter day.
FBG 7.4.
Mrs L decided to get out of bed earlyish, because the blinds fixer fella (Mrs L 's words) was arriving soon. He wasn't!
Where does this come from?
I tried to deflect, enough to garner a response of...... Why didn't you tell me, he wasn't coming?
I must relearn my mind reading skills or get a diary of who is not arriving at our front door today.

There is a breeze, there is a lot of cloud, 21 degrees, but not really a summers day, so to speak. It actually rained during the early hours.

Kitchen duties too perform.

Best wishes.

6.9

Very puzzling. This is the first "normal" fasting result I have ever had, apart from a handful of days when I fasted 15hours plus, and had read higher earlier in the day. Can it be that after over 2 months, either Metformin has finally kicked in or that my liver has decided to reduce its output for some other reason? It's quite a jump from the 9s, 10s and 11s I was getting until today. Yesterday I got a 6.4 and 6.8 in the evening so think this 6.9 is genuine. Thursday and Friday were quite stressful, if anything I'd have expected a rise, not a fall.
If anything that is bringing your fasting levels down, is your insulin is probably working better than previous.
metformin protects your organs and reduces the amount of glucose needed, but doesn't directly affect BG levels. And the reduction of carbs of course.
However, over time you look for trends. That 6.9 may be a rogue reading, and you will probably get a higher reading again tomorrow.
After all, one reading is only a snapshot of your day.
Then again, if true, well done for getting back under prediabetic levels. Even if it is for one day.
I do hope you get a similar reading tomorrow.
Best wishes.

My problems are insignificant compared to yours but this made me chuckle, sorry. My husband expects me to psychically detect somehow when he has forgotten to do something and issue a reminder. (Yet if I remind him of something he hadn't forgotten, I get a complaint).
Best wishes.
And to you too. Hope you get some peaceful times today.

Remember what I to!d you to forget.

Don't put off today, when it's better to put it off again tomorrow.

5.6 this morning. Blood sugars are slowly improving. Interesting that resting heart rate is also better as the blood sugars go down.

A nice long break between classes - which I think I definitely need as we do seem to need more rest time in the hot weather.

Thank goodness though that we haven't got the heatwave Spain has. 46° is way too hot.

Good morning everyone on what promises to be an even more scorchio day than it was yesterday.
5.1 this a.m.
Walked The Girl In The Bubble home yesterday morning via the swing park near the woods.
Then down onto the prom for koffy and water before catching the funicular up the cliff and a wander home for a lunch time siesta after hanging out washing.
Back out mid afternoon and down through the woods where the air is cool, along the brook to the sea and along that prom again - more people out. Tide times favour beach goers for most of the day. High tides today are about 0730 and 2030 - nice!
Up the cliff steps and a stop off at a pup, The Marine, before heading back home. Not quite 10 miles but lashings of sun grease and of course a summer Tilley hat (Mrs Miggins prefers something made of ersatz straw).
Shower and a lather of after sun before taking in washing and watering whatever exists in a variety of tubs and pots.
Both far too tired for much to eat so just some poached fish, nothing more and only half a glass of wine - our wine glasses hold more than you think!
Hope your day contains moments of joy. If things happen contrary to your plans you have a marvelous opportunity to practice patience and just chill in all this heat. Best get some koffy.

Morning all from a sunny L.A. where the temperature is likely to eventually edge a tad higher than mild reaching 32C. Fbg of 4.5 on Libre at 6. 03 then sky rocketed to 5.2 by 8.34. @dunelm a busy day yesterday and thank you for sharing the photo. @gennepher thank you for the creative. I am thinking of you in this warmer weather. @Krystyna23040 reading of all you do you aren't far off Wonder Woman. For those who enjoy watching tennis, this is your time. I watched quite a chunk of Glasto over the weekend but not Charli xcx or "those" chants. Those in the "milder" regions, do remember to hydrate well and when outside don't forget. Clearly not your problem @Annb. Surely any school sports days in the warmer areas planned for the next two days will be rescheduled? Song lyrics

Really good blood sugars @@ianpspurs. I am really envious

Just had an e-mail to tell me that the headstone I ordered for my husband was erected this morning. I thought they would let me know when it was going to be erected so that someone could be there. However, Neil is heading to the cemetery now to check and to take a photo for me (I can't get into the cemetery, which is on a grassy hill, overlooking the sea - no paths, just grass. Not good for a wheelchair.)

Good FBG @ianpspurs -looks like they have been behaving.

7.2 must be the warmth overnight.
Or was it Mrs L going or not going and going again? All night!
Or was it I'm just mentally knackered?
or mad?
My latest revelation to the circumstances, is the anxiety of Mrs L waking and having to call emergency services. Something I just don't want to do.
However, with the social services being now involved, apparently now, out of my control.
I can't go back.
Mid afternoon nap for Mrs L.
No news and not a bad day.
It is 30degrees in the garden. With a mild southerly breeze.
Not going to last, unfortunately for those like me, who enjoy this weather.
Salad is roasting in the oven.
Gotta go. Kitchen duties.
Best wishes.

thank you @ianpspurs for thinking of me melting in this hot weather.... it was 29° C today

Fbg 6.8

I have been tidying iup today and this is unfinished painting I found from about five years ago...

So I finished it off today and here it is... my creative for today....

I was using watercolour on canvas paper and experimenting with that...

It was very hot last night 24°C outside about 29° C inside my bungalow and I got absolutely no sleep at all.

It has been 29° C. A lot of today....

Today I have been trying to catch up on sleep....

Take care...

FBG 6.6 This morning. Stress eating.
MrSlim is making a valiant effort to finish the new floor in the back hall, despite scorching temperatures Although it is mostly inside work he has to go out to cut the new pieces so with frequent back and forth the back door stays open, letting in the heat.

01.07
7.10am FBG 6.0 still scoffing biscuits
9.0am FBG 5.6
Cool and misty morning. Predicted temperature lower than yesterday's 36°
at 28° with a cool start might not even be that high.
New floor is in, will be stained today.
Just got message - artisans are coming today!!! 30 minutes.
