What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

guess i'll call call libre next time get a wee pool of blood above happend a couple of times to me in the last 6 months i just left it alone i do insert umpteen hours early didn't appear to make much difference to readings. although i don't tend to finger prick very often now fingers no longer bruised :D

edit added below.
ps i didn't bother with swimming pool was absolutely mobbed reminded me of a can of sardines :O sod trying lengths in that would be really nice if the pool closed off at least one lane to allow for lengths which I've seen several other pools do

This was the second sensor in a row which wasn’t as normal. Luckily today, third time, all went well.

No more jabbing at fingers for a couple of weeks.

What luxury!!

A sweet 5.3 this morning. Super happy with that! Did a hill walk and upper body weights at the gym this morning, and after lunch walke with hubby and did some gardening. A cloudy day today.
The coyotes were on a rant last night, think they’re teaching the littles to hunt. Hubby found an injured duckling on the trail this morning, it didn't run away…he scooped it up in his hat and placed it in the big pond…but I don’t think it’ll survive.

Normally I’m on pretty much carnivore diet

Almost no carbs . Some days with cheese i may eat ten grams of carb

Yesterday I made a chocolate baked custard. - grated ninety percent chocolate into double cream added vanilla paste and egg yolks and baked

Around fourteen grams of carbs all in I calculated - shared with a friend , who added maple syrup to his for sweetness . Mine had none

This morning’s readings are:

Libre eight point one - contour next seven point four

- several years ago adding a pudding like this to my diet would have made little impact on my readings

Either this disease is , as was always thought , dynamic and progressive, or my sensitivity to carbs has greatly increased. Or of course something else I haven’t thought of ….

Needless to say I won’t be cooking puddings anytime soon

7.1 again today, fairly low carbs but not a good sleep which might explain things. I wished I could maintain a very low carb regime like @OrsonKartt and others but it is very difficult eating with family cooking. Despite this, before this forum I was previously on I reckon 200g carbs per day and now measured anywhere between 30g-50g on a good day.
I may not yet have got the BS readings I want but it has certainly been good for weight loss and blood pressure and knowing that we all have personal struggles of one sort or another is enough to spur me on.

10.8 this morning high all night re mad carb binge yesterday ...totalled about 400 carbs all day ! years ago that would be my normal intake probably even more but in my younger days up to early 50's I was very active .

Hello, my first time on this chat. My blood sugars are all over the place, Friday night bedtime 19.5, Saturday morning 3.5. Saturday night after going out for meal and a few drinks 17.5, this morning after vomiting food & drinks 11.5. I can't phone surgery, 14 month's ago ICB withdrew funding for specialist diabetes nurse and we're still waiting for a solution!

Do you know why you threw up? You might not be able to call a surgery, but 111 should be able to be of some assistance if you're unwell. If it was "just" a hangover, that's one thing, but if you suspect diabetic ketoacidosis, you'll want to call in the cavalry just to be on the safe side. Just explain the situation to them and go from there. Diabetic on insulin, feeling ill. They'll take it from there.

From your profile I gather you're a carb lover, but you might want to dial it down at least a bit, though do be careful with the insulin...
https://josekalsbeek.blogspot.com/2019/11/the-nutritional-thingy.html could help, but not if you're on insulin and seeing lows. You really do need some help to get things sorted in the short term, so get 111 involved. Don't wait, just call. Get that done first and then slowly, very carefully, sort out what you can do with your diet to feel better, and not have your blood sugars all over the place. For the immediate future though... Phone them. Please.
