What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone on the end of the long weekend and also the start of the short weekend if you fancy.
5.9 this a.m.

Sad to read about Mr K @Krystyna23040 and hope you can get this resolved quite quickly. As Marcus Aurelius once observed, “The art of living is more like wrestling than dancing”, and seemingly so when trying to get what you need through the layers of the NHS sometimes.

Today is the 200th anniversary of the first passenger train run from Darlington to Stockton and a restored replica of Rocket 1 is going to chug it’s way down the line to cheering crowds of train spotters sporting tartan duffel bags and matching flasks, wondering why there isn’t a number on the engine to cross off in their little train spotting book of train numbers.

Out to lunch today with Mrs Miggins’ siblings - yipee! Another job for the reluctant duty driver.

Art bit. Two different inks with differing chromatic effects when painted onto wet paper - and a bit of watered down bleach.

I hope that any pains are tolerable. I must finish this late koffy and go for a walk before the rest of the day kicks in.
Thank you @dunelm. Yes, Marcus Aurelius was definitely right.

Of course a shock. Hope he has recovered.
Unfortunately the operation did not go ahead. The doctor he saw at A&E on Wednesday said it was cancelled because there wasn't a doctor on duty who specialised in that area. He is putting on a brave face but I can see he is in pain @SlimLizzy
As he will have to wait 2 or 3 months to see a specialist on the NHS we have gone private and arranged an appointment on Wednesday with a Consultant - it cannot come quickly enough.

4.9 this morning, 4.8 this evening. I am surprised at the good readings as I did a 6 hour Zoom training course. It was all theory and I think it has fried my brain. Sitting still and concentrating for that long is actually quite hard.

I was tempted to cancel it, but we both feel that carrying on as normally as possible is helping to lower our stress levels.

Extra hugs for you both @Krystyna23040

Love this @dunelm
How do you get your picture up loaded? It just turns out blank for me each time I try to upload from this site. Unless it is because I have a very poor internet connection at the moment. And I reduce my file size to about 300 or 400 KB.

I do have problems uploading on the other site, it keeps saying Timed Out
So it is most likely my poor internet connection...
Thank you @gennepher.
I do it on my IPad and as you say, reduce image size first.
It would not work for quite a while recently and then the missing “attach files” button just reappeared under the text box so back to using that.
Wonder if you could log out and then back in again or delete the app if you use that and then reinstall - will that do it?
Could of course be a bad internet connection as you suspect.

10.1 at 05.00 today. When I went to "bed"(Chair) at 02.10, it was 10.7. That was because I had a couple of Jacob's crackers quite late on in the evening.

Em's brother will be visiting today - don't see him very often. He is into those kind of fancy dress events where people try to look like characters from comics and Neil has offered to help him make his costume. Inexplicable kind of event or passtime to me, but each to his own.

Extra hugs for @Krystyna23040.

5.8 the pills are working.
Mrs L has not been herself today, completely unreasonable but not angry, if not being demanding, criticising and also being unsteady on her feet very wobbly. And fell once onto the couch.
And sleepy.
Footie day. Don't mention it please?
Good to see the grandkids.
Oh and I've hurt my knee somehow!
Just another small pain.
Oh yeah 2. Council form sorted.
Best wishes.

Kaleidoscope from one of my green paintings. Kaleidoscope was created in MirrorLab on my pixel 8 .

Dull day today.

I was tired after I had been to the shops. I would've preferred to have stayed in this morning I would've got much more done ....
I had a text this"to say my medicines were ready, these are some that are owing to me.

But when I went into the pharmacy they said my medicines are not ready, and in fact, they are unable to obtain them. So I said well, why did you send me a text this morning telling me to come and collect my medicine?. Pharmacist said oh that must've been an error... I wasn't pleased and the pharmacist said, you will have to go to your own doctor on Monday and ask for alternative prescriptions...

So I thought I'd go to Wetherspoons for a breakfast so I wouldn't have to cook anything today. But that turned out to be a mistake because even first thing in the morning the pub was full of, I presume Liverpool supporters, I made the mistake of staying, but the pub was far too noisy, and the breakfast was on the cool side. I didn't complain because I just wanted to get out of there..... so that was all my energy gone by the time I got home and I've just slept this afternoon...

So I feel like I've wasted today, when I would've sooner stayed at home working on my bedroom...

Anyway, here's a kaleidoscope for today...

Night night from me...

At last, this site's uploader is working for me!!!

One of our friends raised a pig for meat, it did escape regularly and it was very friendly, when the time came she was so upset that she has not kept a pig since.
So beware of getting too attatched.
Our friend is a farmers daughter, has a smallholding and raises ducks, chickens, and geese for eggs and meat, as well as rabbits for meat. She is the not at all sentimental about animals- but admitted to tears over the pig.
That didn't stop her eating the meat though. We had some of it, gifted as payment for Mrslims help with a barn roof, and it was tender and delicious.

8.4 at 05.20 today. Been up as far as 8.8 but must have dropped below 8 in between because Libre keeps alarming me that it is going over 8.

Another night in the chair and it was very difficult to get going after I woke up. Still pretty tired so I may sleep again a bit later.

6.8 this am, a full mmols above yesterday.
So far a relaxed day. Not counting the eggs or the chickens yet.
no carer this morning, a phone call instead.
no staff allegedly.

it's a bit of a cloudy day here, after quite a lot of rain last night. Cool in the morning, football pitches lots of dew for the little uns and the not so little uns later on.

have yourselves a lovely sunday.
Best wishes.
