What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

libre 4.7 just about eat breakfast. short walk then off out to supermarket followed by making my xmas day lunch/dinner :)

the ginger cookies turned out nae half bad :D Will do for base for cheesecake.

fancy lasangu (swapping pasta sheets for thin aubergine slices) so will make bolongnese today then turn remaining into into lasanga tomorrow.

some soup (still undecided which going to make)

first morning no coffee ... milk out of date could of sworn had bought carton just a couple of days ago no idea what happend to it. might grab a costa to go latte whilst at the supermarket will be weird not having usual sugar free zero carb hazlenut syrup in it (tkmaxx is awesome for their sugar free coffee syrups)

5.9 this morning, yippee.….definitely blaming the sugar free treats for my high number the past few days.
The weather is super pleasant today, clear and cold. Sadly the snow is coming tomorrow. I hope the forecasters are wrong. Snow just means traffic chaos.
Gym today was upper body weights and a walk. Last minute shopping, insane traffic and crowds in the stores….patience was needed. I just smiled and took a deep breath, it was just fine.
My son is still planning to come on the 26th….I'm not happy, the snow is forecast for three days at least. Once again the highway closed last night due to an accident.

4.6 libre. fingerprick 5.3 ketones 2.4

diabetic review yesterday first time ever seen weight checked on 2 different scales posted a wee thread on how it went. https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/maintain-weight-losing-weight-diabetic-review.211031/ very short version:
need to stop losing weight and to hand in qfit stool test thing yuk.

Just making my breakfast which will be 2 wheatabix with milk, sugar free hazlenut latte. 2 large eggs scrambled with little cream & cheese. Bit more than normal to see if that helps weight loss didnt like nurses suggestion spoonful of sugar in coffees alongside some of other suggestions.

More cooking today soup yesterdays bolognese turning into lasanga. cheesecake looks awesome that made nice firmness will add a few raspberries and grate a little 90% dark chocolate ontop just before serving tomorrow!

Think i got everyones xmas pressies covered :)

Oh @Lainie71, I feel ya! I also woke to a 7.1 and it just didn’t go down…on day two of this! Did a leg workout and a killer yoga class…barely budged.
Interesting conversation at the gym today. Remember the guy whose blood sugar was through the roof at 70. Well, I spoke with his wife today to see if they have finally diagnosed him. She said they think (what!) it’s type 2. She has no idea what tests they did…anyways he’s on morning and evening insulin as well as insulin at meal times. They told him that they like to see his numbers between 7 and 10! Again WHAT! ****** diet recommendations, they just told him to eat less. I asked if they recommended keto…not even mentioned. I bit my tongue. This is so upsetting to me. Is the system that broken?
Oh…I think I may have an idea about my levels. I have been snacking on sugar free treats. They do not immediately spike my levels, in fact I never see a rise but I’m wondering if there is some sort of delayed effect? So they are off limits. No treats for me. Well…honestly I’ll find something I can make with allulose…which is not a sugar alcohol. Let’s hope these higher numbers stabilize soon.
@grantg, I love sugar free Londoner recipes! Also I did increase my water intake, I thought the same as you did…but no change. Hoping eliminating the sugar alcohols makes a difference.
Sunny and cool today, just lovely. Sadly it looks like a white Christmas, snow is coming Christmas Eve day. Hope the forecasters are wrong.
And some of us over here would love a snowy Christmas :)
