What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morening all, well it’s on the last knockings of morning.

My blood sugars early this morning were in the 8’s I can’t remember the exact number nor do I care.

I have another painting by Mrs J to post, but not today, I am not at home and running on hooky wi fi, the owner is fine, but not so the bandwidth.

Now I must sign out people are looking, it must be my tee shirt.

Stay safe, stay warm and remember tea is best drunk when not in the shower.

5.9 this morning.

We now have a beautifully clean oven. The oven cleaning man did a really good job. I had my feet done at the podiatrist, so now have lovely feet. Mr K has just left for the dentist. So a really busy morning.

I went to our little market town early so I could get some bits and pieces and had time for a coffee at a lovely little cafe before my appointment.

Now relaxing with another coffee in my reclining chair

Have just written a long and detailed update, on Page 1, realising my mistake, i copied and then deleted it. Only to find when i pasted here that only one word had survived the process.
So. Precis.
MrSlim is back to normal.
Mum and I went to A&E where it was decided that she had not had a TIA, but an form of Migrane, without the headache. After a visit to the optician she is cleared to drive again.
Great relief all round.
Son2 is still taking antibiotics and waiting for infection to clear before ICD can be inserted.
He is in good spirits and gaining strength.
Son1 is expected back from NZ on 17th, long walk down completed.
Family lunch with two of my three siblings and Mum on Sunday.

Great to hear that all is looking up @SlimLizzy. Very relieved that your Mum didn't have a TIA especially.

8.1 at 03.40 today and now down to 5.9 after breakfast. Had only slept for 2 hours in bed so fully expected to doze off again. I did, quite rapidly I think and only woke again at 06.15. Had breakfast and fell asleep again until 0850. Total of about 6 hours - that's a bit of a winner for me.

Morning all from L.A. - much more involved in events in the Middle East than is widely known - on the final day of 6 Nations 2026. A better way for countries to do battle one feels. Fbg of 4.6 here. Out to lunch with #1 son later. One left turn, one right turn, another left then down a cul de sac. Perhaps a mile/mile 1/2 max but 96 year old MIL definitely can't walk that far and Bookies have me at 890000 to 1 to make it in one go these days. Mostly due to stenosis - no operation due to some other problem I can't remember now which may also be unhelpful. JKP also has stenosis and will have her op in a couple of months. @SlimLizzy that update sounds much more positive. Enjoy your Saturday and peace be with you.

* Coffee and so called "posh" bread/baked goods have also, none too subtly, become enmeshed in the awful mess of the M.E. in parts of our capital - and doubtlessly elsewhere. I knew about Gail's investors (also backed Brexit). I prefer Jason's protein sourdough, (JKP eats Gail's SF, Cal white). Jason's is from a family business based in Leicestershire - political affiliation unknown to me. We don't go to Leics, Ocado deliver - see below for where that lead me. @Annb I posted earlier in Lent about the Pope's idea of fasting extending to social media and what our money indirectly funds but that piece opens a whole new Pandora's box. Now googling Blackrock who appear to be major shareholders in M and S. They have upset some in Texas for what seem to be good reasons :woot: . First there were carbs and hidden carbs now there are enablers and hidden enablers. :arghh:

4.8 this morning. A bit of a crazy day today. Classes started at 9.45am in Norwich and went on until 3.15pm without even a one minute break between classes and 1:1s. Then I did get to sit down in the car as we went back home so I could run the 4.30pm zoom class.

I think I should dismiss the person who planned today. Oh hold on, I think that might have been me :):):)

Morning all from a sunny but chilly L.A. My Fbg was 4.8 at 7.39. By an odd coincidence my BG was 4.2 at midnight and is 4.2 as I type. Here is a Sonnet for Mothering Sunday, as the poet says like Christmas this can be a delicate day. I have had several emails asking if I would like to avoid emails advertising promotions or events based on this day. I haven't opted out because I only have good memories of and deep gratitude for the love of my mum. #3 son was going to cook JKP and MIL lunch today but his son has tonsillitis so it was agreed it was best to cancel. This is the 4th time he has had that this year but Dr says they won't take them out until he has had it 7 times in a year. Utter madness. He loves school but I do wonder if him not being 5 until August is a little too much. Anyhow, enjoy Sunday and God bless you all.

6.7 at 03.00 today. 9.1 now.

Bright sunshine outside right now although the weather forecast says it should still be wet and windy. No complaints.

Happy Mothering Sunday whether you celebrate it as a traditional church event or as a more modern secular occasion. As a mother, I celebrate throughout the year that I have my two precious sons. I always ask then to think of me, but not to succumb to commercial demands on my behalf.

In 1965 the ship that we were on was in dry-dock in Japan on Mothering Sunday and we asked a young lady who worked in the shipyard office what happens in Japan about Father's Day. "Today is Mothers' Day," she told us. "Every other day is Fathers' Day."

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and those who remembered Mothering Sunday.
Blood sugars early this morning were 7.8

Attached is the latest of Mrs J’s paintings, the second in a series of 4

Thank you for sharing the artwork. Do pass on my congratulations to Mrs J - it is a splendid piece.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those that never darkened gym doors.

Blood sugars early this morning were 8.3

@Krystyna23040 I shall pass on your kind comment to Mrs J when Mrs J surfaces from her pit / lair.

My back lawn had its first trim yesterday by my eldest grandson in exchange for for 30 pieces of silver, well modern currency, Mrs J butchered the front lawn earlier last week, yep we is posh in Tilehurst Towers, not really.
Now it is time to move on, with a smile because I woke up.

Morning all from a windy and cool L.A. where my mood was lightened yesterday by Igor T seeing sense. Unrelated but Fbg was 4.7 today after yesterday's chicken dinner. Nearly matched the well known saying but Pigeon missed a couple. @alf_Josiah, good news on Grandson cutting the lawns to help. Our grandson did similar last year and will do so this year if his dad ever brings either of our mowers back. I have wondered (more than that actually) about buying one of the robot ones but JKP has (so far, she thinks) talked me out of the impulse. (see below re coats) @Krystyna23040 good that yesterday was relaxing and this week is less hectic. We also recently had an air fryer decease and acquired a Ninja one. What with the N kettle, entering the kitchen is like braving the attached. Y'all have a good day now, warmth (well a few layers less) is coming - good time to buy coats for next autumn and winter. I saw one I liked while watching the rugby on Saturday so obviously incoming - well. now JKP approves. Negotiated down from the Arc'teyrx one I first mooted (you're not a gangsta and you don't go up mountains. Ian :hilarious: ) - the art of the deal :D Peace be with you. (Edited the you're but any other errors are orfentic)

Good afternoon everyone from the drafty interior of our somewhat noisy house here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.3 this a.m. before the window fitters arrived for day one of about four. Who thought that this was a good idea???

Some stomach bug doing the rounds and most of us have jumped on that bandwaggon with varying results. Not a great way to fast for a day or so.

Six monthly Echocardiogram tomorrow - what fun and then an appointment to get a referral to have cataracts replaced by built in Ray Ban Navigators - it’s all the rage man!

Oscars - gladly missed due to being more interested in watching some paint dry.

Hope you are making the most of this newly acquired week, “no one ever loses a life other than the one they are living, and no one ever lives a life other than the one they are losing.” (Marcus Aurelius).
