Good to hear progress, even if slow is being made @Lamont D

Not the same, but I found while a visitor was nice (I was the other side of London, not a nice journey for family )

The thing I did enjoy more was just a call, someone speaking about daily life that wasn't all "how are you " driven.

I wonder if you have managed to talk via phone to Mrs L yet ?

Like the others on here, wishing all the best. Hoping for a continuing recovery that gets you where you want to be asap .

Best wishes fella.

Fbg to follow, in bed & chasing up meds that haven't been approved, as yet...ggrrr.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

Blood sugars at 5:30 am were 3.8, 2 dextrose tablets and they rose up to 7.5 at 6:50ish

Managing diabetic control is a minefield when you add Prednisolone into the equation, I have been doing this for years and still can’t understand it or get it wright, a bit like my understanding of the Engrish language ‍.

My one aim is two wake up the following morning and make people smile, oh dear that’s to aims, never mind, because this is my aim.

Well done @Lamont D on posting, my best wishes to you and your good lady.

Back now. Had an exhausted sleep in the chair but woke with Libre yelling at me that BG was too low. Ah well - a cup of coffee with sugar in it fixed that.

GP told me that my heart is slightly enlarged and the heart wall is thickened (too much hard work carrying my weight around) but it is pumping at a reasonable rate so heart doctors won't be interested in seeing me. Fine, I'm not all that keen either. Arthritis? Sleeplessness? Keep taking the pills or take even more of them, I'm not up to maximum dose yet. I explained that I don't want to take pills that will make me sleep for much more than my 2-3 hours because I would be so stiff that I wouldn't be able to move. A sweet smile and a shrug. My choice. Well, it is my body after all. Interesting how it's my choice when there's probably no answer and not so when I don't want to do what the diabetes nurses tell me.

Me too. Some years ago I had to take Tom to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for an appointment. His dementia had already become quite advanced. Trying to get back to our hotel from the hospital after dark, I took a wrong turn and ended up going down country lanes trying to get back to the town and start again. Despite his dementia, his sense of direction was better than mine and he managed to guide us back to where I had gone wrong so we could find our way back to the hotel. Maybe that was either why or because he was a good navigating officer when at sea.
That was amazing that Tom retained his sense of direction despite his dementia @Annb

When I was 18 I took my sister to Lloret De Mat for a holiday. We dropped our luggage off at the hotel and rushed to the beach.

After a lovely afternoon I realised that I had absolutely no idea where the hotel was, or even what the name of the hotel was. Luckily, after a few hours searching my sister recognised the street the hotel was in and we found the little hotel.

Good morning everyone on a wonderfully silent and sun shining start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.8 this morning.

A double dip appointment yesterday - annual blood letting and feet tickling as well as an emphysema/asthma check up. Lung meds changed to a new all singing and dancing powder puff - like a compact but without the mirror. Will see how that goes over the next three weeks and then a phone call.

Hope your day moves along swimmingly for you. Will finish my koffy and then wander down through the woods.

Good luck with the powder type

Think I got a "turbo inhaler" once.

Left me feeling wretched, had to insist they put me back on the old one .

Hope your experience is better.
AND it's effective.

Breathing...very much taken for granted until it becomes an issue & it's not so easy anymore....

Morning all

Fbg yesterday (I forgot again )
A conference league mid table 7.3

Today's a pub league 8.4

I have memory (or avoidance issues ) since accident.

So ran out of duloxatine before I could order repeat prescription.......

Except it's not on my repeat prescriptions, because since the GP took over monitoring my mental health issues , the mental health doctor seeing me is keeping a close eye on my dosage and how it affects me (ok, that's good, right )

Which means it's an issue by issue medicine for me, he needs to approve.

And next appointment is 2nd week in may EEK

Cue a krypton factor type challenge getting an emergency supply or an earlier appointment.

All of which ended in another doctor will be calling me today to see what they can do for me .

(Been here before, missing meds I back slide on my recovery and go quickly downhill until I get the medication needed)

So I may ..,get a prescription today

But last night the inner me that doesn't care anymore, had a chaotic & poor choice of foods frenzy

Reflected in the pub league score.

Hoping for a better day today

Love & best wishes to all however you're going through the mill personally

And for those finding life quite easy and very enjoyable...more power to ya

Long may it last

Ciao..x

I hope you can get your prescription today @jjraak. Sometimes you just have to kick over the traces and just do what you want regardless of the result, pub league result or not. It's fine, as long as you know what you are doing and don't just carry on in the same vein.

7.9 at 03.30 today. Soon up to 8.2 and actually is still in the same area. Currently on my 2nd cup of coffee. Still don't fancy the idea of tea so I'm consuming quite a lot of coffee at the moment. Just took my daily chemist shop full of pills - forgot to have them straight away after breakfast so it's a bit late. Better late than ... not at all.

I have found a podiatrist who can come to the house rather than me having to be pushed for 1/4 mile in a wheelchair to get there (that's the nearest available disabled parking space usually - Stornoway is remarkably difficult to park a car in). So she is coming tomorrow at 09.30 so that I can go for my 11.00 appointment for leg bandaging. I made this appointment 3 days ago, after hunting for some time to find a mobile podiatrist. Then yesterday, the lady who used to work in the surgery in town phoned to tell me she has given up there and gone private and doing only house calls. She's had a list of clients to call for a fortnight but only just got around to me. Pity she didn't call a couple of days earlier. It's the old story - you wait for ages and then 2 or 3 buses come along at the same time.

Good morning everyone on another splendidly quiet start to this sun shiny day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.4 this a.m.

Bin day, a double dipper and soon to be a treble dipper once the new food waste system kicks in next month. That will increase my step count .

I need to clean and refresh the waterproofing on our little cabriolet roof but the instructions on the products tell me not to do it in sunlight as it dries too quickly. Well ther’s an invitation to procrastinate for a while.

Garlic now in full bloom in the woods, nice on salads and some frozen leaves for soups.

Ping from our pharmacy letting me know that my all new singing and dancing powder inhaler is ready so will nip down and grab that while the idea is still fresh in my noggin.

Hope your day is a kind one. Best finish this koffy and get out into the sunshine.

Good happy national bin day fellow posters and painters.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.0

I’m not sure how my day is going pan out, Mrs J might have an influence on things, but not luckily not until about 11:45

Now it is time wish you all a good day, extract every ounce of fun you can, but don’t bark at the refuse operatives

3.7 at 03.30 today. Libre woke me from a very restless sleep so I got up and made my very shaky way through to the kitchen. Very stiff and sore, I was going to go to the fish shop in town and see what they had, after my visit to the nurse, but gave up on that idea - the legs just weren't having it. BG has been up to 10.4 and back down to 4.1 - just had a biscuit to stop the drop.

Podiatrist arrive at 09.30 so that's another thing out of the way - she says I have a fungal infection under my nail so I got the nurse to ask the GP for a prescription to deal with that. She also recommended "leg wraps" - fabric with velcro to wrap it tight but the nurse was not happy with that idea. I'll see what I can see online. Anyone seen or used such a thing?

5.4 this morning.

We had a lovely walk around the park with Bonnie this morning. It was quite warm and sunny. I am still wearing jumpers even though it is warm. It has to be a lot warmer before I stop wearing jumpers.

A good day. My sister came round and we did loads of admin then I went into Norwich for the evening classes

I actually wore a thin top yesterday (in the house - jacket to go outside) but today I am back into a jumper. Chilly.

8.8 at 02.25 today. Currently 7.9. On my 2nd cup of coffee and my 2nd lot of painkillers. Have to think about breakfast soon.

I found some of those leg wrap things online. They look very bulky. I'm really not sure. It would cost me £140 to buy one whole set. OK I could manage that, but can't afford to waste £140 on something that doesn't work.
