What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Back now. Another hypo while out.
I hadn't realized how cluttered our parking area was until today. Grandson has bought a 2nd hand Dacia but he hasn't passed his test and it will be a long time before he can sit it, so he has SORNED it and left it beside our house - no room outside their own with their 2 (now) electric vehicles. DIL's camper van is making it's presence felt out there too. Again, no space for it and it is also SORNED since they don't intend to camp anywhere this year. Then there's Alistair's Dacia, which Neil is using while the Scenic is in the garage. Even when the Scenic does come home, the Dacia is going to have to stay until someone buys it for spares. We only have a 2-car space, with comfort (ie to be able to get a door open) and there are 4 cars vying for a home! I guess 2 of them will have to be put onto the croft - no hard stand, but near the gate shouldn't be too soggy. Might need to haul them off again with a tractor though, when the time comes.

Anybody might think we were well supplied with vehicles at a quick look, but, at the moment, only one of them can be driven (and it won't pass its MOT when the time comes for that).

Good morning all. Fbs early this morning was 12.?
Appointment went well. I now have my Freestyle Libre fitted and have carried out my very first insulin injection. The connection keeps failing with the Libre sensor presumably because the distance from the phone has been too far. That didn't happen with the original one I used some time ago. I have been told to sleep with the phone next to my bed and received new advice re what to do if I have a hypo. At the moment my reading is 11.8 and has been up/ down all day. Best wishes. :)

6.6 at 03.00 today.

Finally got my very-long-story/short book sent off to the publisher. It'll take a while before I hear if they want to publish it. I was fairly happy with it when I sent it off, but today I am feeling less sure. Is it any good? I'm too close to it to know.

Good afternoon all. My second insulin injection this morning.No problem. Difficult to say what my fbs was as my husband said it read as 7+ at 5.30am on the phone whilst I was still asleep but as soon as I woke at 7.30am it read as 10.3. I didn't inject until 10.30am as my first supervised injection yesterday was after 11am and I'm aiming to gradually adjust the time earlier so that I can do it just after breakfast at the same time each day. PS: I have been trying for ages yesterday and today to inform the DVLA about my move to insulin. Lots of info. filled in OK on line then it moved to identity checks for Gov.UK. What a nightmare! After gathering together the info they listed I would need including photo ID and full details of my medical services I had to scan a QR code to download the App on the phone then was told to scan a second QR code but that never appeared. I waited about an hour watching a circle going around. Eventually an error message appeared so I closed it down. I later found a telephone number on the DVLA website and got a recorded message to leave my telephone number and they would ring me in about 30 minutes. When they eventually rang a very helpful lady asked me a few questions, recorded that I had informed them and is sending a questionnaire to fill in and return within 21 days or they would revoke my licence. I think they need details of my GP etc to check if I am fit to drive. So my advice to anyone in the same situation is try the telephone first. Best wishes. :)

Good morning all.Difficult to be sure of my fbs according to my Freestyle Libre 2 plus. At 7am it read 7.3 but by the time I was fully awake it was 10.3. So far it hasn't made much difference to my blood sugar levels but I'm wondering if it's because I've reduced my Gliclizide from 2x twice/ day to 1x twice per day as advised at the same time as starting insulin??? Best wishes for a good weekend. :)
 
9.9 at 02.30 today. I'd been awake for some time and finally felt that I was too sore to stay in bed. Took painkillers and fell asleep (as usual) in the big chair. Woke around 07.30 - still seriously painful so I took more painkillers and went back to sleep. Woke at 09.45. BG 8.1 - but I had had 2 cups of coffee between sleeps.

Cool, wet and windy here today.

Bright but no sun to be seen. Windy, chilly. Heavy jumper weather again.

BG at 03.30 today was 7.4. Not wonderful, but not too bad.

I was asking Neil yesterday if he could find online for me, a new keyboard. The existing one is an old Macintosh one and was just the right clunky sort of action that I like, but quite often the keys or space bar would stick and I would type on, blissfully unaware of the misspellings or missed spaces. "Hold on," he told me, walking away, "I just have to do this." Two minutes later he came back with a box. An early birthday present. A lovely new keyboard. Quite a few functions on it that the old one didn't have so I'll have to work on that. It's lovely! Beautifully clunky so that I know I have hit the keys and so much smoother than the old one. He really hit the nail on the head with this present.

I'd completely forgotten about my birthday, so it was a great surprise.
 
4.2 at 5.45 am this morning here in Sunny Breckland. @Annb, belated happy birthday - how thoughtful of Neil that was. Here's hoping the publishers find your story to their liking. This thread does seem to have become very of the moment, all parched and deserted with tumbleweed rolling down mainstreet. If any of the erstwhile members are lurking I hope you are all keeping well, in the shade and hydrated. I shall finish my tea: no vertical drinking, sitting on my sofa watching TV with my grandchildren. Peace be with you all.

Not belated, Ian. A bit early actually. Thanks for the good wishes. My goodness - just a day or so short of 81! How did that happen?

BG at 02.00 today was 6.5. A bit early but that was when I had to get up. I did sleep again in the chair, or rather, I dozed until about 08.00. By that time BG was 7.8 but I had had 2 cups of coffee and some painkillers by then.

Bright and sunny here today, but breezy and quite chilly. This is a good holiday spot for people fed up of the heat down south. Certainly Alistair was glad to get home from their short tour of Europe. He never did like the heat. SIL in Swindon was threatening to get into their air conditioned car and drive up here to get away from the stifling heat in their apartment block. Brother refused, at 83, to undertake such a drive, so they didn't do it. They'll just stick it out. Maybe they should just go for short drives in the cooler environment of their car.
