Hi all just had a phone call from my dsn at gp surgery and we just had a major fall out, let's go back by a few weeks, I had a letter from dr surgery saying they were changing my needles to a cheaper version, I wasn't happy about this as I'm happy with my 5mm novo twist needles, so I haven't got no choice on this so such is life I have to try them. Last week I had to see the doctor about my mood swings and got on to the subject about them changing my needles and they had a directive from the local health board telling them to put everyone on to these needles. Doctor asked me to try them and if I can't get on with them to go back and they will sort something else out, ok fair enough, so I have been reading a lot on here about the novopen echo and I have been thinking about this, so I rang novo nor disk about them and was told it was comparable with my insulin just need to change to cartridges instead of pre-filled pens, and I figure this would be a lot cheaper than the pre-filled pens. So I asked the doctors to be switched to this system, doctor said she couldn't do it but would ask dsn to do it for her as she deals with all diabetes related things in the surgery. So I get a phone call from dsn she can't change me on to this system as I have to go to the diabetes clinic to do this. As novomix 30 may not be comparable and may have to change my insulin. Then she said I see your not taking metformin anymore and why not so I told her about the stomach problems cramps the runs, the wind the fermentation and the odd smell coming from my skin, and was told this was impossible as I was on mr metformin. And it was down to the Victoza, not metformin, I told her that the Victoza is fine and I don't have any more problems with it her exact word was how did you find that out. So I told her everything calmed down when I stopped taking metformin, and if I start taking it again I have major stomach problems with in hours of taking it, so in the end she agreed that it is metformin causing the problems and to contact the diabetes clinic
