He is in his 30's. Basically the age when you can still seem to get away with eating or drinking whatever you like without any seemly comebacks or side effects.

(Sorry! previous post here got a bit scrambled/incomplete when trying to enter it from a tablet with a dodgy wifi signal)

Hello been a diabetic for 28 years found very difficult to shift weight .
I have type 1 diabetes . I started this green juice fad by buying one of these Nutribullets . 5 months now the weight I've lost is unbelievable I used to be nearly 22 stone now 18 stone 4 pound my blood sugars are between 7--10 all the time the most important is that I've reduced my insulin intake greatly I do eat normal foods as well but not as much because I'm always full so I've cut out the snacking also did u know that the sugars in fruit are not as harmful as man made sugars so I add quarters of apple to my drinks my blood sugars only spike a couple of units higher ...Weight loss can be achieved from common sense & checking regularly blood sugars that's the key thank you ::)))

People who interrupt you when you're talking and people who won't listen.
I've lost 41 pounds since May last year - about 16 of those were in the last 3 weeks since I started LCHF diet, so glad to say it's picking up at last!

Have pre-diabetes, was 11stone last summer, have lost 10lbs. Am dieting and exercising but it's going slowly. Need to lose at least half a stone more but not sure how much I'll have to lose to lower my blood sugar.

I've kept a stone off for a year but I keep falling off the wagon. Get back on and fall off again. Getting dizzy.

Hello to all and a major cheer to all the success stories I have just read, and just to say I am totally jealous as well. I am T2 and trying to get the weight down, but just going down then up again, which is relly depressing putting it mildly!!!.

I am now on Victoza, which slows down food going through the digestive tract, and then the large colon is slowed down as well, I might not feel hungry, but my system is so slow. So am I better off on the drug, or not?
I read a post about having to loose half of the body weight, well too have a major amount to loose, and not making any progress. Exercise has been mentioned, and I have another thing wrong with me, Osteoarthritis in the knees, lower back and incredible lower back pain, that makes me feel so sick when it really gets going. What do I do for the best?, the knee docs, want to give me 2 knee replacements, they said loose as much as I can by november (in february they said that), but nothing has worked, the only time I have a flatter stomach, is after the lactolose has work and I have 'been', and then it can be a good few kilos of weight difference,
So what do I do next? lots of splinters while I think, ttfn

When first diagnosed T2 was 114.5 kgs and obese (18 stones/252 lbs). Now several months later are now (according to nhs bmi checker) just overweight. Weight is now 89.3kg (14 stone/196 lbs). Apparently also according to NHS bmi checker I have to lose another 5 kgs (or about 12 lbs) and i finally reach ideal weight! Well... Ideal for 6ft and 45 years old anyway. Next blood test in Oct/Nov and I'll have a better idea about what weight I should be. If blood test is 37 (or better) and I stay about about 89 kilos then I'm happy (and so are my toes).
