Im sorry to have to tell you the rest of us are all different! Apart from you!And I haven't said we are not all different
I've said it's ridiculously over used as it's ridiculously obvious
Indeed.Thank god we are all different
I'm going to consider that phrase a compliment from now on![]()
Hi, I'm glad you found a method that suits you but in my opinion the advice "go ahead and eat it, find the answers for yourself" is not advice at all
If the only advice is buy a meter and test what you eat, that's fine, and good advice!
But there is so much more that can be learned from the experience of others
When I was diagnosed I need to drastically change my blood glucose, I never had time to test everything I ate so I took advice as to what foods make my bloods rise, cut them out and then tested foods to see what they did over time
If I had received your advice alone, I would have not needed the forum from the first posts, which told me to get a meter
LOL of course that advice is not good alone. As I said, my Three Golden Rules are know what you eat (nutrients, GI, GL), don't be afraid to try new things but be careful about it, and test often.
But, we are different. When I was newly diagnosed, to find out what I can eat became my number one priority. I tested everything, all the time. I now have a solid base of food I can use for my meals, and I know what results I can expect, more or less. I can tell you, for example, that I can put 20 mililitres of milk into my coffee and it won't affect my BG - but 30 will slightly increase it (and 50 will cause a diarrhoea >.>). Or that I can eat 3 almonds in dark chocolate and it won't affect my BG at all - but the same with white chocolate will spike me. Experimenting and testing is actually fun. And it helped me discover a lot of interesting ingredients and recipes.
You didn't use it in that postOk I'm going to use it in every post from now on
But it will be code for... I'm normal, we are all different...lol
