Forever Autumn by Justin Hayward bring back some great 70's memories, likewise with Seasons in the Sun by Terry Jacks.

You can't call Justin Hayward a one hit wonder!!! I fell in love with him at aged 13 when Forever Autumn came out and then badgered my Mum every Xmas and birthday for albums by the moody blues.

Listening to Sounds of the Sixties on Radio Two the other Sat morning I heard B Bumble and the Stingers doing Nutrocker. I don't think they had another hit. And Arthur Brown's Fire. My mum loved that one. :)

God forbid Zand :) After that effort, that'll do :)

Got you active did it not?

Your contribs / suggestions were SPOT on !!

If someone said a Slade hit, US members would NOT have a clue:)

Yes, I would. :) My (English) husband loves Slade. We even had a couple of their songs played at our wedding reception.

Prior to coming to the UK, I would have said that Kylie Minogue - Locomotion was a one hit wonder. :)

Did he ever have another big hit in the charts on his own, remember him well with the Moody Blues.

Don't think he did tbh. Though him and John Lodge , the bassist from the Moody Blues had a hit as the Bluejays with Blue Guitar. You can't imagine how happy I was to find a secondhand copy of that single in a dusty shop in the Handyside Arcade as a teenager.

Intolerance, career politicians, reality TV and so-called celebrity culture, mobile phones in the quiet carriage.
Ha! Gotcha! (ironic Falklands reference :)) Robert Wyatt also had a hit with "Shipbuilding " in the 80's, though I always preferred the original version by Elvis Costello, who wrote it. As a 60's/70's prog-rock nerd I still live in hope of something by RW's first band, Soft Machine, making it into the charts :)

PS: four words to expunge Clive Dunn from your head: "Saint Winifred's School Choir" :***: :D

Lol yes you're right about Shipbuilding, I'd forgotten and yes the original Costello version is, well, different certainly.

One of RW's or Kevin Ayers' songs from early Soft Machine would have made a great hit

Preferred Rockford Files, but only seen every other Friday as Rovers were playing at the same time. That's the theme tune that Rovers players come out to!
