Morning all,

DSN has been in touch to suggest we try this instead of Levemir. I've been having problems getting BG down each morning and only getting it down after lunch, so consultant suggested this as an option to my DSN. I have already gained a stone in a year with increasing my Levemir and have just read a few posts about this from other users to say they have put on weight since using.

Does anyone else use it and any stories to share about your experience please as don't want to jump out the frying pan into the fire, so to speak !

Thanks ;)

Also known as tresiba.
It has an ultra long flat profile and is meant to reduce nocturnal hypoglycaemia.
It is sometimes difficult to change with the fire and frying pan scenario but ultimately you are after the best control you can achieve as you are here making enquiries.
I would try it !

Hi @Juicyj

I've been using this since last summer and can only say good things about it. It has a very flat profile - lasts for 42 hours, although you take it once a day. I certainly haven't put on any weight since using it. I use less units than I did of Lantus or Levemir.

I've been taking tresiba now for about 3 weeks so not long enough to notice any weight gain.
But it's working really well for me so far, my sugars keep really stable. It's even helped with my DP. I'd definitely recommend giving it a go.
Good luck!
