Blood Sugar in High 20's and GP not helping, please advise

Deary me Scottie just one of those things would have been enough to ruin my day at the moment, you've had a lot to deal with all in one go so it's no wonder you need to let off steam. Better to get it off your chest one way or another though! You know there will always be someone here to listen though, I know i definitely will be!! Hope tomorrow brings better things. Keep smiling!! Xx

Thank you Muggle, how are you?

I see you were awake in the early hours of this morning, I didn't sleep until then even though I felt tired. Do you feel tired at all? I'm wondering if it's to do with low-carbing. Just had my Ryvita's and really enjoyed them, hoping my BG reduces in 2 hours.

BG fasting 17.4, before food 18.

My Fitness pal said yesterday I'm not eating enough calories, 454 down on recommended intake. It's said this for 4 days now. Haven't eaten today yet, just going to have some Ryvita with melted cheese. Still awaiting my shopping.

Now on my 9th full day of low-carbing. I need to see a GP, phoned out of hours doctors and they brough my medical records up and said just to continue taking extra meds and see my GP tomorrow. Luckily, even though the GP or chemist halved my anxiety meds, they have also included extra dosage of Glicloside which was supposed to stop after 2 weeks. My eyesight is worse today, even my daughter's face is blurred.

Having a craving for Weetabix, strange. Or chocolate. Or cake.
Hello scottie, don't worry about the" your not eating enough cal's" just remember to stick at what you know , and approx 70= 80 g of carbs , plenty of fat and lots of water, these symptoms will pass, hang in there ::))

Hello Clive, will do and am eating 40g of carbs. Eating lots of eggs so that is using my fat allowance. I was minus 2 off my 42g daily allowance.

Hey Scottie im good thanks, hope you are too. Ive actually felt better since starting LCHF. Before that i was napping every day, Id get to tea time, sort tea for the kids and then just crash out, like someone had just pulled the plug and switched me off. Ive been really hungry though and yesterday had a monster of a sweet craving! Im still confused with the low carbing though, i don't know if cheese counts as fat, carb or both, or how many carbs i should be having. I couldn't eat breakfast today, but for lunch i had ham salad with boiled egg, cheese and Mayo. No idea how many carbs in that lot, but previously Id have finished off with a lovely crusty bread bun or 2 so I suppose it's a step in the right direction... Sweet creamy coffee aftwrwards so i still feel like ive had a sweet pudding.

So eggs count as fat not carbs? I don't think I will ever get the hang of this lol

Well done scottie, hope your eyes get better quickly ,it can be very worrying ,have you been to have a test at opticians or hospital for diabetic retinopathy?

The tiredness will be your lack of calories. Calories are our energy. Insufficient calories = insufficient energy. If you are hitting your carb target on MFP you must be down on your protein and/or fats. Have a look to see which you are down on and try and increase them. Cheese is a good one because it has a lot of fat and protein, and is very calorific.

I think, and please check, that all meat, veg and salad are carb free. Use full mayo. Cheese is fat I think. Today it's showing as no carbs so I would imagine that's 'free'. So, now carbs in your lunch today.

I just think it's my high BG that is causing me to feel odd.

I missed my retinal eye screening and now can't go for another year. This was before I was taking it seriously.

Muggle - if you're using myfitnesspal, it will help you understand the constituent part of most foods. Just be careful though, as some entires in the database are entered by users who may not be measuring as carefully as we do, so think about what you actually see.

If your vision is a bit wonky, don't reduce your carbs too quickly, as it can put a bit of a strain on your eyes, if you've been running very high for a while.

Scottie , go to your optician for a check up, if they notice any bleeds or other problems they will send you to the hospital.( in high bs readings it is the wise course of action scottie::))

Stay strong Scottie, keep away from all of those. It would be better if you had an omelette, put some grated cheese in it.

Who said you have to wait another year.
I would just phone them and ask for an appointment for as soon as possible.

Oh, I'm not going to have them Milly, just want them because I can't have them. Do you ever feel like that? Is it normal?

Husband went to Asda about half hour ago, just to get donuts!!! He has just eaten 2.
Would you say thats being supportive?
