I was actually 5.3 yesterday I find, not 5.4... and... 5.1 this grey morning with rain forecast... :) Let it rain, I'm happy to be 'normal' again... :)
I had sea bass with kale and baby marrow last night, and a hot chocolate with a tsp of peanut butter before bed... I was 5.6 last thing...

The most accurate way is 2 hours after first bite. I have always done this, and this is the advice normally given on the forum. I believe the thinking is that digestion begins immediately we start to eat, not after we have finished. Occasionally this may be difficult, for example if you have 2 or 3 courses with a gap between the courses.

Things got a bit complicated as I had a tummy upset after lunch - not sure if it was what I ate that day or the previous day but there must be some possibility that my lunch didn't get through the system for some time after I ate it, so the low readings may have been red herrings. Even so I was still only 5.7 at 11PM last night. But this morning it's 6.0 - my first 6 in ages.

Interesting comment about when to time the two hours because it will take some time for food to reach the small intestine, where sugar absorption takes place. At the end of your meal there will still be a fair proportion of your meal waiting to reach the small intestine.

9.3 this am after the reading in the night i got up went down and had some crackers and cheese but must say not into this eating in the night nor being woken and finding I feel weird and sugar levels low :meh:

Another one in the way too high range 8.2 but I did have a "mother's day " meal after I finished work at 10 pm last night which included a few chips and a slice of garlic bread.

5.3 am after 6.3 last night.
Had some porridge this morning for the first time since diagnosis and reading every 30 mins.... it's not gone well, 7.7 after 2 hours.... so that will be that. I thought I might see if some carbs early in the day would be better than in the evening meal... may have taken too many, 40g dry wt.....
