Newcastle diet starting Monday, done it once who gonna join me on my journey??

Day 14 and have lost a complete stone (14lbs) since starting ND. Clothes more comfortable as Telandy above mentions - stomach & face showing the main losses, athough the wristwatch is loose on my wrist too
Showing up on the face is so good, I have lost so much around the waist but not a lot from the face. I dont know how to loose all the weight around the face and squeeze it a little.

Day 32. Still away for work - so no scales. Fasting blood 5.7. Skipped the lunch shake yesterday and spent 2 hours at the gym to prepare for the evening diet deviation. Turned out to be no problem really. I had diet coke (only two of the party of 7 drank alcohol anyway - the rest were driving). No-one was interested in starters. I ordered the steak and had it with Rocket leaves (salad was a bit beyond them!) - which was fine and substantial. I avoided the bread and dips and no-one ordered a desert - so all in all nothing looked or felt odd or out of place. And - I believe I stayed within the 600+ calories for the day. Still tasting a buttery tongue - so presume I am still in ketosis. Only thing is my stomach is feeling a little tight this morning. It is not used to protein I guess. Anyway - back on the ND today and for the rest of the trip.

Bit disappointed with my reading on 4.9 fasting today. This is the highest I have been for quite some time, and to have this in the last week is even more disheartening, well 5 more days left so will live with it.
@Steve50 just wondering are you on 800 cal diet or 600?

HI Brettza. I know how you feel about the higher readings.

I am on the ND - which as I read it is 600cals + 200gm of salad or its equivalent - which brings it up to c800 cals I think.

All the best mate. Its not the diet that worries me its what the readings will be after the diet that worries me more :)

Day 33 - still away with work - so no idea about weight. Fasting blood was up a little to 6.

Hi i just been diagnosed with diabetes and looking at going on this Newcastle Diet, I just wanted to ask did people who was on this diet , still take there medication!!

I am on day 13, I have decided not to take the medicine or consult the doctor, the readings are good considering, high in the morning (7.7) and down to 5.4 in the day. You need to take on loads of water, a little salt (costipation) and some Olive oil (to avoid gall stones).

The weight is falling off was about 100kg, guess I have lost 6 kg, so pretty happy so far. Experimenting with soups and backed vegtables, I do eat out with customers so I have had to be a bit careful. Putting on a pair of underpants which haven't fitted for a while is the best motivation I need.

Good Tip from Steve50 - tea / coffee in the morning, first shake at lunchtime and the second at 16:00 and then the evening meal. If I get the munchies it is just before going to bed!

Day 34. Fasting blood 4.5. Very happy with that. Back from work trip - so weighed in. No weight loss or gain. So I guess I'm happy with that - but if I'm honest perhaps a little disappointed. Birthday today - so it's going to be hard! I would like my present to myself to be some weight loss in the morning - something to show for the effort.

Happy Birthday Steve - not too many cakes ! Don't get too downhearted after a business trip, a goodresult. Long term is the goal so I think you are going pretty well, how much weight have you lost all together now?

Hi Telandy. Last September I was 110kg. I went on the 5/2 (promoted widely in Australia - I'm Australian and living and working in England). Dropped down to 91.3kg - then went back up to 94.4 - so started the ND. Since being on the ND I have lost a further 7.6kg. So total weight loss has been 23.2. My target weight is 82.5 - which will be 25% of my starting weight. today I was 86.8 - so 4.3 kg to go. If Brettsza can do it - so can i!!!!!
