Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

I just woke and tested myself :-) my sugars are 5.4 havnt had anything to drink or eat yet. Im type 2 i take 2 metophage 500mg twice daily. Hope i never go to 3 daily or insulin injections. Are the insulin injections for type 1 only ?? Or do some type 2 use the too ??
 
6.2 mmol / L this morning.
5.4 mmol / L at bed time.

Was in bed before midnight. Still busy dealing with life's challenges so stress is elevated. The good sleep helps though! ;)
 
Morning!

7.1. A bit disappointed but put it down to a combination of a late dinner (after 9 cos of work) and very little sleep. Didnt drift off till after midnight and wide awake by 4am(when its properly light)!

on looking back it seems I often have my highest readings on a Wednesday so I may have to rethink my Tuesday eating.

Some type 2 use insulin because they cannot take the tablets for medical reasons. I am on insulin because of my genetic disorder I can't take any of the main Diabetic tablets and we are still not sure how much insulin my body is making. I get my test results at the end of the month.

Grey day in Cockney Land. Could be a frustrating escape tonight as operation stack is in place again!

@nomistheman hope you are Ok. Was getting a bit concerned with your absence as you eluded to it previously. Hang on in there bud.

Oh right i see & you are classed as type 2 are u even tho you are on insulin injections ?? Because you cant take the tablets i didnt know that type 2 people sometimes have to use insulin injections xx Im still learning new things only on here 2 days :-) i thought you had to be type 1 to be on insulin injections. I hope your results are good and help to regulate how much insulin you need :-)

T2 at the mo and on insulatard a intermediate acting insulin twice a day 10units in a morning and 6-8 in the evening depending on food and sugar levels. Insulin is used for lots of people who have trouble controlling there sugar levels with diet or tablets.
Any questions just ask away we will all try to help. As Clive said have you got a meter and what are your levels like.

Must be some genetic influence on the blood ketones. I just tested mine 4.5 hours after breakfast, result 4.6 mmoles/l.
FBG was 72 mg/dl and 4.5 hours after first bite 88 mg/dl which is not great.

Hi yes i got a meter when my gp diagnosed me. Is Bs Blood sugar ?? If so i tested around 6.45am and it was 5.4 i still dont know what HbA1c means ??? I prob wrote that wrong think the b is meant to he capital but people were askin me yesterday what mine was but Im still learning things ye spell short and what they mean only 2 days on here.
