mean people, corrupt politicians, poverty, happy pharmaceutical ads;
Do you think a baby aspirin (which our diabetic hospital doctor advised) would lower the blood pressure? I would like to avoid the ACEs and maybe others too as they has severe interactions with my other meds. Tx

I have no idea. I take a low dose aspirin every day "to keep the blood flowing" as my doctor said, but it has nothing to do with my blood pressure as I have no problems in that respect.

I am on low dose Aspirin too because that was 'best practice' for T2DM in 2007 and now best practice is statins. I'm not aware of any effect on blood pressure.

Aspirin can make me bleed for 10 mins when finger-pricking if I hit the wrong spot.

I waa amazed that pre op I had to stop my oregano tablets and garlic tablets.... This is because of their improving the flow of blood!! (Could be I could have gushed and gushed!!).

Also for actually hobby wise to improve actual blood pressure adult coloring is fantastic.

At every appt recently I have taken my colouring books and pens and my blood pressure literally has dropped to the floor. Even at home it is a huge benefit to total relaxation. Once started you just can't stop....

Aspirin in our CCG has been reviewed and is no longer on prescription for certain diseases..... Because of contradictory side effects. Huge pressure was put on the heart specialists/GPs to contact and change the patients on aspirin to get them changed to another drug.

Best way without meds is to get your salt intake in food down.
Very doubtful if aspirin will help htn.

I am no rocket scientist, but am aware that taking asprins, helps to thin the blood.

From a hydraulic point point of view, I know it needs a lot less pressure to pump thinner oil than it does thicker oil.

Could this mean, that a lower blood pressure, is needed, to pump thinner blood, around the body ?.

I may be wrong, and perhaps should leave rocket science, to the experts..............??????????

Well there's swings and roundabouts.. does thinner blood enable blood fats to escape into the retina more easily.. or does thinner blood move blood round the body faster .. I haven't had any answers yet. All I know, is to choose paracetamol over ibuprofen because that competes with aspirin.

Further to my last post I found the following exert:-

.........
Diet will also play a large part in increasing your circulation. Increasing levels of iron and vitamin C found in foods like lentils, beans, chickpeas or citrus fruits. Increasing your intake of Vitamin E

By eating foods like garlic, onions or olive oil can help thin the blood so it easier to pump blood throughout the body.

Cutting foods like sugar, fat and toxins like alcohol will help you lower cholesterol levels which can cause damage to the arteries and impact blood flow.................................................................

Getting thinner blood is not a cure for htn.
If you have loads of brocolli and cauliflower etc it is good for health but the Vit K in these vegetables increases one's clotting factor.
So much so, those on Warfarin rely on Vit K as an antidote in blood loss.
D.

BTW aspirin and ibuprofen do not compete they summate and if both taken together one could overdose and have damage to your stomach or blood loss.
