What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

10.2 :( Not the best way to start the day.

10.3 at 6.45am :(

I've only been testing for just about 2 weeks. I was denied a meter/strips and discouraged from testing ! No medication (yet, but will be I'm told) still waiting to attend DESMOND.

i had 2 Ryvita with cheese and 2 digestives at 10pm.

This is the highest morning reading yet.

I'm discovering that I can't even eat a little something 9- 10pm anymore with my readings being about min 7.5 and 9.5 in the mornings  I have no clue what to do as I'm sometimes at the gym so don't get home until 8.30pm...
go LCHF and pull those fasting levels way down before your doc medicates the **** out of you, thats what to do

Now here's a little puzzle for ya.

I went out with family yesterday to celebrate daughter's 21st birthday. Both she and I are diabetic and she has other issues (see previous posts).
I had chicken curry and pilau rice and saag aloo (spinach and potato) and she had chicken biriyani.

My bs this morning was 9.2, exactly the same as it was yesterday and daughter's was 10.3 (big reduction on the 13's and 14's she has had recently!).

Nope, I can't figure it out!

Just wanted to add that I can fully understand the moderator's concern that this thread stays friendly. I have noted posts to newbies that have more or less been hijacked by individuals who want to get their point across and don't seem to care how (or where) they do it. It's good to remember just how confusing and frightening all this can be for someone newly diagnosed..I'm just starting to feel less nervous now and I have been diagnosed for a month!

I think this thread has a feel good factor about it, nobody passing judgement on anyone else no matter what the figures are so I doubt very much if the mods need have concerns.

Look forward to checking in tomorrow. :)
I noticed unexpectedly lower readings in my early days after indian food. It was a mystery at the time but a little research has led me to the conclusion that it is most likely due to the turmeric. http://guardianlv.com/2014/03/new-study-confirms-turmeric-can-benefit-diabetes/ Chicken biriyani has both turmeric and cinnamon which is another spice with proven bgl lowering properties http://www.diabetesaction.org/site/PageServer?pagename=complementary_july_06.Your dish contained a lot of carbs with both rice and potato and may not have had both of the spices present.

I had an 8.3 this morning. Pretty disappointed with myself. I have a 90 day average of 5.9 fasting, doing really well with LCHF and then I threw it all away with a two day carb binge. Hopefully I can get it back down inside a week

6.3 today.....and had fish and a few chips last eve chuckles I expected it to be high ..I will never understand this diabetes
