Hi I'm type 2 following low carb as best as possible to keep levels stable alongside metformin but would like to start using a shake replacement once a day as I often skip lunch at work or don't fancy actual food in the morning. What does anybody recommend? I'm in England.
Just reading your post and it's giving me the push to get back onto low carb. Well done, keep going. I'm just writing out the shopping list to start tomorrow [emoji3]
What happens when cream, cheese and nuts don't agree with you ,what do people substitute these things with, and I'm not a huge lover of avocado. This is my second go at LCHF as I got good results but couldn't keep it up
Diagnosed type 2 on 28th January I went full steam into LCHF which saw my bloods go from 92 to 46 which the doctor and I were excited about, but since May I can't keep it up. I'm really missing fruit and just eating a vast variety of different foods. I eat out a lot but often the menus don't...
So pleased I came back on this site again, been type 2 since 28th Jan starting at 86 followed LCHF, Mays results had me at 46 with 3stone lost too, but since then have been struggling and slipped back into old ways of eating. I love food especially fruit not a big fan of meat and LCHF food...
Hi @Jaynorwich1 I was also diagnosed 6 weeks ago and put on the same dose as yourself and had the same side effects. What I found was the less carbs I ate then the less side effects.!the last 2 weeks I've not had any awful problems. The Low Carb High Fat way of eating has also seen my blood...
Thanks everyone. I did use to have problems with Metformin when I first took it but this last month has been good. I often have my third tablet with just 3 walnut halves and have no side effects so think I might give it a go
I would need to have a week with you @RobPL as you have so many meal and baking receipes. I'm 6 weeks into LCHF diet but have kept to basic foods so far just so I don't stay too much in the kitchen but I think I'm in control of my eating and ready to try some new low carb meal ideas. Thanks so much
BG levels are coming down well but I would like to do a couple of 16 hour fasts to see if this helps but I take metformin 3x a day and I have to eat with them, could I take them on an empty stomach ??
Stop eating carbs, Potatoes, pasta all bread and go out for as long a walk as possible and it will help bring it down . six weeks ago my readings were 18 and I went on a low carb high fat diet and have readings of 6 now . I'm also on metformin
