Have you noticed that the temptation to sing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" is never more than a whim away.

2 years on and BG still high

I am eating well below 80g carbs per day, sometimes a lot less. I am a little heavy at 15st and 6'1" but nothing earth shattering. Despite this, I cannot get my readings below 8.5 regardless of carb intake or eating patterns/times. No idea why this is. Anyone had similar problems?

Looking at the programme in the link, you get choices of lectures on T1 or T2 throughout much of it. I am looking forward to my day out [emoji4]

Have you been told not to test your blood sugars?

From the other side of the fence; "So it's not never to test; it's just that there are very specific circumstances where we know testing can be of value,". http://www.cbc.ca/news/health/type2-diabetes-blood-sugar-overtesting-1.4157581 For the record, I am pro self testing', but I am also pro...

Mine's a glass of polythenol please landlord

People who drink three to four times a week are less likely to develop type 2 diabetes than those who never drink, Danish researchers suggest. Wine appears to be particularly beneficial, probably as it plays a role in helping to manage blood sugar, the study, published in Diabetologia, says...

    Missing sandwiches...

No need for any butter in the mix? I have just started to make the microwave in a mug bun type thing with 1 egg, 1 tablespoon coconut flour, 1 tablespoon of butter and a 1/4 teaspoon baking powder. Microwave for 90 seconds and it tastes like a plain sponge. No strong coconut or butter...

    High carb !

I would have thought just the chickpeas alone would total a **** sight more carbs than the overall total given on that sheet?

    Struggling with being hungry [emoji30]

As already said, try upping the fat. Nut butters of all types are worth trying out as well as peanut butter. I would also replace that wholemeal with something like Livlife bread from Waitrose. Probably at least 75% less carbs and tastes nice, considering it's meant to be healthy :p I would...

    Feet numbness

I had this and the associated pains, like bad pins and needles. A 600g capsule of Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) each morning put a stop to my pains within a week of taking them :)

    Bread or Crackers

I was a big fan of the Lidl rolls until I discovered Livlife bread at less than 4g carbs per slice. I now reserve the Lidl roll for my Sunday morning treat with lots of bacon and a dollop of brown sauce.
