    Guardian 4 sensor

I use the extended infusion sets and reservoirs. They are easier on the skin too. When I remove them there is no redness or irritation. It’s amazing. I feel I’ve entered the Golden Age of MiniMed. I understand they are expensive p, but I pay nothing out of pocket due to my Medicare (I pay for...

    Guardian 4 sensor

The ease of inserting and starting a new sensor with Instinct is amazing! Literally takes seconds. Warm up is 1 hour. It’s so much more gentle on your skin than all the tapes and heavy transmitter with G4. I’m so grateful and I hope it works out soon for all those who want to get it.

    Guardian 4 sensor

c There was some reason for all the malfunctioning in G4 imo. I had intermittent good service with it….HOWEVER, I have now switched to Instinct Sensors on my 780. I am beyond thrilled! I just started my third one and the first 2 gave me full 15 days service! A few glitches a couple of...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

That’s amazing! It’s also my goal. I’ve been in mid to high 6 point range for the last couple of years. Hoping to get there next test.

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

I guess I’m trying to get lower out of concern of preventing damage. So far, eyes, kidneys, heart appear good. I shouldn’t stress about it though. I did make an appointment with the CDE.

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Today my a1c was 6.8. I’m trying to get in low 6 range, but I’m not disappointed with the 6.8. My cgm was indicating it should be higher, but I’ll take it.

    Issues with highs - 780g

Coming out of Smart Guard sounds strange indeed. How long have you given the pump to learn your body needs? Initially, I was all over the place too. It took me probably a couple of months for the pump to learn me. After that it worked well. Not perfect, but very well. There are a few...

explaining what it's really like to live with Type 1

I see. Having access to pump treatment is definitely a factor. I’m in US and still struggle with supply issues, though I’m fully covered. If your A1c is good, that’s awesome. If I could do that, I probably wouldn’t have gone with a pump.

explaining what it's really like to live with Type 1

Yeah, sometimes I’m off. But normally I’m pretty steady. I cheer for any who do well with MDI, but it was rarely doable for me. A pump is a lot of work too. I only bolused for breakfast this morning and never thought about it since. It’s early evening. I skipped lunch. Just checked and BG 125...

explaining what it's really like to live with Type 1

Have you considered a pump with automated delivery? It changed my life. Once the pump is acclimated, you just bolus for carbs. It does the rest. The pump knows when you need less basal and backs off….and does micro boluses if it sees you are trending up. I really struggled with MDI for many...

    Medtronic 780G Rough Start

I hope you are able to fully utilize the 780 Smart Guard feature. It took me a little while (months) to get adjusted when I went from 670 to 780, but it did eventually happen. I worked with my endo team to make adjustments and allow the system to learn my needs. I was able to get get results...

Thinking of going onto insulin pump tandem t:slim

I was MDI for many years and am glad I understand basal, bolus dosing…etc. However I am now very reliant on my pump. It does a better job for me than I do. It really scares me that I might have come off the pump for some reason. Even 24 hours would be horrible. I could manage it, but I’d...

Medtronic Simplera Sync sensors not available to order

That’s very disappointing. Man….My G4 isn’t that bad right now.

Has anyone else been told they no longer meet the Type 1 Diagnostic criteria?

The test requited by my insurance to confirm type 1 (and cover pump supplies) was C-Peptide. And mine was undetectable. It was my understanding that antibody tests cannot diagnose type 1. I found this piece. I didn’t see a date though. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/313764
