Why don't some people get it?

I was thinking that myself ;-)

Why don't some people get it?

I was diagnosed in 2009 and apart from taking the meds prescribed I pretty much ignored it and continued to eat and drink whatever I liked. I'd occasionally try to get myself under control but would last a couple of weeks and give up. I was completely addicted to sugar, it's a serious addiction...

How much exercise do you do?

I've gone from zero to at least 10,000 steps six days a week in the last three weeks. It's been amazing. Bg at normal levels, meds reducing, lost 14lbs so far. No mid afternoon slump. I need to maintain as I feel so much better X

    LCHF week three

So it's three weeks since I went cold turkey on sugar and started LCHF. I'm averaging 30-40grams carbs each day, would like to reduce it further. My fasting bloods have dropped from 13 to between 6-8. Post food down to 4.8. I've lost a stone and no mid afternoon slump so I'm very happy :-)

What to do with the Mother-in -law....

I was diagnosed T2 in 2009 and until recently I largely ignored it even though my mother lost her leg and vision as a result of non compliance. Friends and family have nagged me, supported me and challenged me but I just couldn't seem to connect and take responsibility. In January my Hba1c had...

    Anyone use a fitbit

I love my Fitbit, I log food on my fitness pal and it syncs to my Fitbit app. I find it does help me to be more motivated. I love the vibrating alarm and I also really like that I can discretely see who is calling when my phone is on silent at work. Worth the investment in my opinion

    Type 2 Steroids!

I'm T2 and after the first two weeks of a twelve week steroid treatment for colitis last year my bg was so high it was unrecordable (over 33) as a result I was put on insulin until 14 days after the steroid course finished. I didn't experience any lows X

    Not losing weight and Metformin

I started low carb 17 days ago... Zero sugar, sweeteners etc upped my exercise. It was hell for the first ten days then I started feeling better. I've lost 7lbs, don't have a mid afternoon slump at work and my bg is at pretty normal levels from super high. I slipped tonight and had four...

    Relapse

I went sugar free 17 days ago. following a low carb high fat diet. First ten days were hell. Add in exercise for the last week and my fasting bg is down to 6 from 12+ and I've lost 7lbs. Tonight I had four squares of dark chocolate, not low sugar. I feel like I've really let myself down but...
