Why don't some people get it?

I was thinking that myself ;-)

Why don't some people get it?

I was diagnosed in 2009 and apart from taking the meds prescribed I pretty much ignored it and continued to eat and drink whatever I liked. I'd occasionally try to get myself under control but would last a couple of weeks and give up. I was completely addicted to sugar, it's a serious addiction...

How much exercise do you do?

I've gone from zero to at least 10,000 steps six days a week in the last three weeks. It's been amazing. Bg at normal levels, meds reducing, lost 14lbs so far. No mid afternoon slump. I need to maintain as I feel so much better X

    LCHF week three

So it's three weeks since I went cold turkey on sugar and started LCHF. I'm averaging 30-40grams carbs each day, would like to reduce it further. My fasting bloods have dropped from 13 to between 6-8. Post food down to 4.8. I've lost a stone and no mid afternoon slump so I'm very happy :-)

What to do with the Mother-in -law....

I was diagnosed T2 in 2009 and until recently I largely ignored it even though my mother lost her leg and vision as a result of non compliance. Friends and family have nagged me, supported me and challenged me but I just couldn't seem to connect and take responsibility. In January my Hba1c had...

    Anyone use a fitbit

I love my Fitbit, I log food on my fitness pal and it syncs to my Fitbit app. I find it does help me to be more motivated. I love the vibrating alarm and I also really like that I can discretely see who is calling when my phone is on silent at work. Worth the investment in my opinion

    Type 2 Steroids!

I'm T2 and after the first two weeks of a twelve week steroid treatment for colitis last year my bg was so high it was unrecordable (over 33) as a result I was put on insulin until 14 days after the steroid course finished. I didn't experience any lows X

    Not losing weight and Metformin

I started low carb 17 days ago... Zero sugar, sweeteners etc upped my exercise. It was hell for the first ten days then I started feeling better. I've lost 7lbs, don't have a mid afternoon slump at work and my bg is at pretty normal levels from super high. I slipped tonight and had four...

    Relapse

I went sugar free 17 days ago. following a low carb high fat diet. First ten days were hell. Add in exercise for the last week and my fasting bg is down to 6 from 12+ and I've lost 7lbs. Tonight I had four squares of dark chocolate, not low sugar. I feel like I've really let myself down but...

    LOW CARB SUCCESS STORIES

Hi guys, I'm still really trying with the low carb, still no processed sugar, no sweeteners and real food. I'm using my fitness pal to carb count and was surprised today that I was over 50grams. I checked it out and it says 12grams of carbs for a latte, is this right? I thought full fat dairy...

    Celebrating

I know it's a little early but I'm 9days into zero processed sugar, zero sweeteners and low carbs. The headache is receding, today I felt OK for the first time and this evening I had 7.7 bg at two hours after my meal. It's been 13-18 up to now. So Yey! Go me! And to celebrate I ordered a new...

    LOW CARB SUCCESS STORIES

This is really inspiring. I'm eight days into zero processed sugar and low carb. I way 14st 7lb and this has been a very difficult week. I've done it though and I'm determined to keep going. How do you manage away from home? I travel a lot for work and end up eating out. I'm away next week and...
