I think it's something to do with one's liver focusing on dealing with the alcohol first, so that the carbs get processed more slowly and therefore don't cause the BGs to spike. Definitely not a great long-term strategy, though, LOL!Usually my fasting blood glucose in the morning ranges on average 6.3 to 6.8 following LCHF eating.
This morning after drinking 4 pints of strong ale, a double Jack Daniels followed by King Prawn curry with fried rice and a portion of chips washed down with a can of lager the night before was
4.9!
