Food that is killing me slowly
FBG 10.2 this morning.

Yesterday's Breakfast: White coffee with a sweetener
Lunch: Low carb meal replacement shake
Dinner: Roast beef with a couple boiled potatoes, with swede, carrots, onions, cabbage, courgette, peppers and home-made gravy

Received blood test results today. Hadn't tested for about a year. My HbA1C is 65... It was 42 a year ago. The liver function test came back with high numbers too. Not doing so well today, and generally am switching between feeling very sorry for myself and being angry at myself because the damage is self-inflicted - I just love food too much... :arghh::sorry:

A year ago was with medication which is 42. HBA1c is just an average blood glucose number last month.

You cannot compare with now which you are trying to fix with only diet.

Keep doing same low carb diet your HBA1c will definitely improve.

You will never fix your diabetes or insulin resistance with medication where as with diet and exercises(which is difficult) i am sure you will fix lots of other health problems and your overall health.

You need to believe you self.

I cut bitter gourd into small pieces add lemon or lime, salt ,green chillies, salad tomatoes cut into small pieces and leave it 1 hour.
Then all juices from lemon and tomatoes makes bitter gourd not too bitter.

Bitter gourd is as medicine in Ayurveda and helps to lower blood sugars.

I never used frozen Bitter gourds but need to try and see how it tastes. Probably if they are frozen you need to wait until defrosts.

woke up aching from yesterdays walk to and from my desmonds meeting P1

10.0 - neeeeearly in the single figures!!

I am starting to cultivate a routine, where I have white coffee with sweetener for breakfast and low carb shake for lunch. Dinner is where I relax the rules a bit. I had salmon with lettuce, pepper and tomato salad, and a tablespoon of fried potato. And a pot of freshly roasted and ground coffee as an after-dinner treat.

I just wanted to add that this forum is a life-saver! Everyone here has their own battles with managing diabetes, and it's reassuring to see that things can get better in time. I don't feel alone in this anymore, and can actually make it through the day without falling to pieces. You guys rock!:happy:

Just a bit low. Ate loads of carbs last night and my bg certainly showed it. Still, have fasted today and its back to 6.3. It went into the 9s and 10s last night. So annoyed with self since I usually have 6.2 mmol/l average.
Oh well. It's a marathon not a sprint.
