Time to pause and remember the 56 Bradford city and Lincoln City fans who sadly lost their lives on this date in 1985. Lest we forget.

The government have given the Premier League the green light to restart the season from 1 June.

Football in the UK has been shut down indefinitely in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic that was claimed more than 30,000 lives and impacted thousands more.

Premier League clubs have committed to finishing the season in some shape or form with plans for matches to be played behind closed doors at neutral venues already drawn up.

And I suppose the rest of the Leagues wont get to finish their season which is good. I think in all fairness the leagues should stay as they are until next season whenever that may be. Its bad news for such as Leeds Utd as they wont get promoted which they would have done had the season continued. But I'm sure they wont worry about that. People's safety comes first.

Our last game was at Bloomfield road, Blackpool, we were in great form, three away wins on the trot and for the first time, no injuries!
Relegation is more than likely, but, depending on how the EFL figure it all out, will we still be in League One?
Loved going to the Stadium of Light, very impressive, it should host premiership games, the super white army still outsung you on a bleak Tuesday night! Especially since we got hammered!

It's all very strange!

No footie!

No work!

No travelling to footie!

I'm really missing it!
That was our next game Blackpool but the day before called off.
I was staying over and I was riding back to the North east by bike doing the coast to coast Morecambe to Bridlington. All this has put that on hold as it has our charity footy games I was doing it for

Iv always enjoyed tranmere away, easy to get to and normally stop in Ellesmere port before hand

Our home crowd is shocking. Plenty turn up but it's quiet and Midweek games are always quieter

We were softening them up for you!

Always get good reviews about away support at PP.
Your away support is tremendous, and usually in good form regardless of the form of your first team! Have to say I'm a big fan of Max Power. Started his career as a six year old, when we had an academy!

How can nearly 30,000 footie fans be quiet?

Keep safe.

Reports suggest that the EFL may have a battle on their hands to convince clubs that returning to action behind closed doors to finish the 2019/20 season is the right way to go.

The Telegraph report that ‘many Championship clubs are now growing concerned over whether the season will even restart’ and that any resumption potentially may not happen until early July as there is ‘no chance’ it can start before the Premier League.

They go on to claim that there at least four clubs who are ‘strongly opposed’ to the season being resumed, including Cardiff City, Huddersfield Town, Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday.

However, Town chief executive Mark Devlin and manager Danny Cowley have both previously indicated in recent weeks that their preference would be for the season to be completed when it is safe to do so.

It would be crazy to even think of resuming the season. Its safer to call it a draw and wait till its safe to begin 2020/21 season.

There is no 'safe' reason why football can be played.

Logistics and affordability to the smaller clubs to begin again without crowds is a financial disaster.

The contracts of more than half the playing staff in league one and two is up at the start ofJuly, so unless we start in June, which I can't see happening, most clubs will struggle with getting competitive teams to play.

Too early!

Too many dying!

Lower league clubs should wait now until it is really 'safe' to do so (with crowds!)

Stay safe.

League Two's season has been brought to an early conclusion following discussions between clubs and the English Football League.

After an indicative vote by the clubs, the table is set to be decided using a weighted points-per-game method, while the play-offs would be played as usual.

But any move still needs to be ratified by the EFL and Football Association.

Teams in League One will meet again on Monday after failing to come to an agreement.

Now that's what I call sensible.

Totally agree mate, at the moment if the agreement is ratified by the EFL and league one, then my lot will be relegated. But I still live in hope!
Realistically in the long run it doesn't matter, we will be still in the football league!

They have also agreed for no relegation from league two. This does cause a problem because if the season would have finished, two clubs from the NL would be promoted, but because of Bury, there will be one spot open, who fills it? I presume it will be Barrow.

There is a huge split in league one, because the bigger clubs who are currently in the top ten want the season to be played out, whereas the poorer lower clubs want the season to be over with similar recommendations as with league two. I can't see an easy result coming out!

But saying how it will all be, is one thing, we have to get to a point when it's safe to do so!

As things stand our lot will be safe in the knowledge that when a new season finally gets underway we'll still be in the Championship. But I'm sure that will be far from people's minds. When its safe to do so football will start up again. In the meantime the only football at the moment is Bundesliga.

Premier League clubs unanimously voted in favour of phase one of the training protocols, clearing the way for squads to get back to training on Tuesday, but more importantly setting a tone of consensus as the competition tries to get back for 19 June.

If you ask me this is way too soon. It should have been abandoned like the rest of the English and Scottish football leagues.

I’m glad they are trying to restart and I believe they will have in place some decent protocols to ensure high levels of safety for the players involved at the top level of the professional game.

Of course, nothing is guaranteed here. They may crash whilst driving to the ground or they may catch corona virus from the petrol station hand pump. Ultimately though we are all going to be exposed to risk in the coming months.

As for my team, the mighty Colchester United.... it is not clear if league two will honour a playoff system of sorts.

It all depends on what the outcome of how the championship and league one finishes will impact league two.
I agree in the south it has become possible to make the first steps to getting back to some sort of normality, but up in the north the downward curve is not as pronounced and we are still seeing new cases and deaths. It is too soon, as it is within the school proposals. It is to early!

It's all very well, the pressures from television and vested interests, not to mention the money that will be generated is good for the game but at what cost?
I have worked within professional football and asking some of them to use social distancing and not to socialise when at the training ground is a bit of wishful thinking.

The main reason why league two has decided to go with their way of finishing the season is financial. Not enough cash flow from gate money and sponsors. Loss of earnings from outside resources have also contributed. Clubs like mine cannot afford to play without the fans.
League one is split and a decision was due today but nowt yet.
Testing will be mandatory for all players and staff at training.

It's interesting that one of the club's that wants to play is one club that has a very small dressing room. How do you social distancing there?

Keep safe

Yeah our away crowd are usually always really good. Probably seen us quiet on 1 occasions this season. Shrewsbury and Gillingham. Gillingham was an awful away day. Ref made the linesman give an offside meaning we had a goal dissallowed

Been to all games except 3 this season when I was away, can't beat footy days out. I'm missing them so much at the moment

Max is a decent player, better under Phil Parkinson. Scored some decent goals this season

Interesting to hear your perspective on it. I am hugely biased as well as I’m desperate to see football but obviously I wouldn’t want to put anyone at too high of a risk. But risk is everywhere and footballers will be afforded much more protection than the general public. Stay safe mate

What I'm saying is, that because up here we are a couple of weeks behind the south in this pandemic, we are not ready to start the easing of lockdown to what is capable down there.
Being safe is really important. The risk is still too high. Another 500+ deaths announced today!

To.back this up six premiership players tested positive for the virus!

Looks like league one is going to go the similar way as league two.
Still not decided on the smaller points.

Some EFL clubs are facing the very real possibility of going out of business altogether amid the coronavirus pandemic with League Two already curtailed, League One reportedly likely to follow and all that being underpinned by a potential financial crisis.

But the Premier League are preparing to step in to ensure EFL clubs can survive.
"It is inevitable that we will have to push money down to the other 72 clubs," a Premier League source told the Daily Mail.
"There's certainly a willingness to do that. "If we don't, then a few clubs will be gone. The EFL need us to finish the season maybe more than we do.

They have a valid point there. Without this financial support from the Premiership teams then sadly there'd be a few clubs gone. Its a nice gesture.

Earlier this month Huddersfield implemented cost-cutting measures to protect non-playing staff jobs and protect the financial health of the club amid the current coronavirus crisis.

Members of the club board and the senior management team have voluntarily agreed to defer their salaries for the next two months.

That's very charitable of them.

Very nice gesture, but it depends on the premier league continuing. Which is why in think it is sensible for all efforts to be made to finish the season and start next season. Let’s get it done as safely as we can and as sensibly as we can. No guarantees for anyone though but that’s equal for everyone right now

A proposal to push back the Premier League restart date to June 26 is expected to get the green light this week, according to reports.

The Sun claims that clubs are in favour of scrapping plans to begin on June 12 with just over a fortnight to go and players yet to resume full contact training.

Its crazy to even think of restarting the season.

It is crazy mate!
How can professional footballers play at the pace and tempo of top flight football, be match fit with only a fortnight training and not full contact at that?
They can't!

And in July!

They were saying at least a month ago they needed three to four weeks pre season training before even thinking of playing matches.

Still waiting to hear from league one if we are going to start up or finish the season!

Keep safe
