What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone on a wonderfully quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.3 this a.m. when bladder dragged me from my slumber at 0530.

Quiet a hot day yesterday, some folk hiding under tables in case their skin burst into flames.

A funeral attended first thing - oldest member of our veterans breakfast club at 96. Great turn out, a band, lots of standard bearers and a flag draped coffin.

After. Home, changed and down through the woods to meet Mrs Miggins and her gaggle of grandchildren on the beach. Back home via the pharmacy to collect drugs and a picnic in the garden before the children were returned to their respective parents.

Quite achy this morning. Probably due to a fake news report of 17,455 steps while brushing my teeth before bed last night.

Hope your day is a pleasant one. We are having a recovery day after all the fun and frolicks with the carpet people.

9.6 at 01.15 today. But that was after only 11/4 hours in bed, so I don't take that too seriously. About 09.00 it was 8.8 but I had had a cup of tea by then, and taken basal insulin. Breakfast and more tea may put it up, of course but we'll see in about an hour - just put a new sensor on so have to wait until it is ready to start working.

Legs Thursday today. At least my legs get to feel the air for a few hours every Thursday. Two outings this week - legs today and dentist tomorrow - a big filling fell out about 3 weeks ago (during the night and I guess I must have swallowed it) and the sharp edges of the tooth have been annoying me since then so it will be good to get rid of those edges when the new filling goes in. I may be a tad tired by tomorrow afternoon.

Morning all on a bright but cool start to the day in L.A. My fbg may well have been the 4.6 the fake news Libre sensor claims but the BBC can't verify that as Mr and Mrs P don't allow their reporters access. @dunelm hug for the aches and pains but admiration for the step count. The funeral, whilst obviously sad, sounds like an appropriate way to celebrate a life of service to one's country. @Annb I hope leg day goes well and the dentist provides relief from those edges. Here, we have four grandchildren today and two will sleep over. The fine weather means the younger ones can play together outside. #1 grandson is a teenager so has other interests but is very willing to help by cutting lawns and helping around the house. #2 grandson adores his big cousin - would give some a warm fuzzy feeling I imagine. Talking of immunity, spring COVID jabs are on offer for some. Have a good day and peace be with you.

5.9 this morning.
Bonnie had a lovely time playing with my sister's dog Lexi.

Then we took her to our local market town where we went to a lovely cafe that does superb coffee and is very dog friendly.

This, of course, was for her training and nothing to do with the homemade cakes and lovely coffee.

Good Morening Ladiies and Gentlemen

Blood sugars this morning were 5.4

Here in Tilehurst Towers today has to be a relaxing day with lots of feet up time after the last few days. The real word should be lazy.

Have a jolly spiffing day all, my early morning tea required. :-)

6.6 at 02.15 today. 21/2 hours in bed - that's better than some nights before this. Up and down of course since then and my last cup of tea before I go out.

Lovely spring day here at the moment - things are supposed to be getting worse though. We'll see -
Dave gave us a miss so maybe this one will as well.

Neil has just discovered that one tyre on the Scenic is worn but still legal and another is too worn to be legal. The others will have to be replaced before long as well so I am sending him to our local tyre replacement people while I am with the dentist to get 4 new tyres. Not sure what that will cost but it needs to be done.

Morning all from a sunny but not mild (i.e sub 24/5 °C) L.A. - its the layers (clothes not chickens) stupid. Fbg of 4.3 or 4.8 depending on pre or post comfort break. @Annb hug for the impending cost of those new tyres and dentistry (no Fuji 9 then?) but well done on being a caring citizen. @alf_Josiah good idea to take it easy - other Jackson Browne/Eagles ditties are available. @Krystyna23040 Bonnie probably needs some more opportunities to train in that coffee shop and you really ought to see how your body reacts to a cake these days. Two grandchildren here today to end the Easter Hols - #blessed. I am debating whether to buy a robot lawnmower. #3 son says no, #1 son says good idea. #1 son has both my lawnmowers and strimmers and has to bring them to me and he or #1 grandson cut the grass. #1 son hasn't embraced friction-maxxing. I will remove this sensor tonight - is digit stabbing FM? - or tomorrow so no posting thereafter for a while. Peace be with you.

No 1 son would probably end up with the robot mower as well, if you bought one. (I still haven't found the hash on this keyboard.) I used to have a pack of something like Fuji IX but the dentist didn't approve of it. Maybe it could have cut him out of the treatment circle, or maybe he was right that it was a bad idea - it was only for making temporary repairs until a dentist could be seen.

Turns out that the tyre replacement garage is closed for the local trade holiday. I didn't know that businesses still took that holiday. The last one that I was aware of was "the Glasgow Fair" which kind of faded away about 20 or 30 years ago. How can I have been here for 50 years without realising that they still do it here? The spare tyre is in good shape and it is a proper tyre so it might have to go on temporarily until businesses open up again.

Digit stabbing is definitely FM, by the way, and to be avoided if possible. Listen to me - the most FMed person you ever came across.

watching !y box and close to napping waiting for more torture latern

it's not fun but it's the best place for me. Missing. My chair.my bed etc.

Great to hear from you @Lamont D. This may not be like living your best life but it is the best life for you just now. Think of it like rebuilding your innings after an elite bowler has ripped through the top order. Each and every run is progress a small step, towards a big win Celebrate the small wins, you are down but not out. Thoughts and prayers with you and your family.

Morning all from a very dull and distinctly cool, verging on wintry L.A. My FBG was 4.6 or 7 - annoyingly often changes as I enter. Reasonable result after fish and mushy peas for evening meal. No children today but two, #1 son's son and daughter, are singing solos in a concert at a nearby village hall. Thank God that the Astronauts landed safely but I can't help thinking spending on such missions instead of feeding and caring for all your citizens and showing love to strangers isn't progress as a civilisation. As well as but not instead of seems more appropriate. Peace be with you.

7.9 at 03.20 today. Dropped away to 3.6 so have just had a biscuit and waiting for it to rise again.

Dentistry was a bit of a surprise. The dentist told me that it was a filling put in 5 years ago, using a compound that they don't really use any more but he would just use it again because the last one lasted 5 years. Fine by me. Apparently, the next time it falls out (if I'm still around by then) the tooth won't take another filling because there is so little of it left. Fine, not overly concerned with that. But I was surprised that he did nothing to the tooth at all; didn't even try to check for anything that needed cleaning out of the hole. He just put the compound back in and that was it. I hope there was nothing left in there to cause infection.

I was invited to go to a local restaurant for late lunch/afternoon tea with some people who make high class chocolate and have a cafe in the Highlands. The restaurant was pretty poor quality, although it looked very swanky. Great selection of fancy teas and a variety of coffee styles but the quality of the food was poor. I just had a cup of green tea and no food. One of my friends just had a roll from a very limited all-day brunch menu which turned out to be a 4" dry roll with a 2" slice of haggis sitting in the middle of it. It was about 85% bread and 15% filling. Another had a full English breakfast which looked dreadful (perhaps they really intended the burnt butter finish on everything including the fried eggs) and others had a tiny salad - very fancy presentation, but little content resulting in food being transferred from the full English onto salad plates. And to top it all, as I struggled to get up to leave, I leaned on the table which tipped over, dumping broken cups and saucers onto the floor. At least I managed to lean against a wall and not fall over. Not a happy experience.:grumpy::hilarious::rolleyes:

Suffering for the effort today.

Sorry to hear that the kind offer of lunch/afternoon tea turned out to be such a disappointment. I hope you can rest today.

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and elephants

Blood sugars this morning were 6.3

Nice to see you posting @Lamont D, but sorry to read about your continuing incarceration, but steady slow progress is good.

Where the elephants came from in my greeting, yep I have no idea.

I am suffering from a lack of koffy and also paces! Perhaps that’s what prompted the elephants.
Time to go and cause mayhem elsewhere.

Bonnie definitely needs more opportunities to train in that coffee shop and I did have a slice of that really lovely Banoffee cake. Actually I was surprised that BS wasn't too horrendous afterwards.
