What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Blood sugars this Morening were 5.8

Good happy Sunday morning Ladies and Gentlemen and those awaiting guidance from their controllers.

Tilehurst Towers is very quiet at the moment Mrs J has issued orders to the effect that I don’t rouse her from pit/lair until 9:00am ish? Such decadence, me, me’s and myself will leave her there while I bask in the silence.

My early morning tea is now history and koffy is calling, whoops and so is Mrs J……

6.1 this morning.
We had a lovely walk around the grounds of Blickling Hall today. We did walk quite a few miles.
Mr K is quite tired now because when we got home he did do some gardening and other jobs.
It was a really good day. It was so nice travelling through the lovely Norfolk countryside.

I have been definitely diagnosed anO APP byone of my csrers.

Over and out from happy valley internment for the elderly or stalag oer65.

I was due to visit a friend - several years younger than me - yesterday. Have been wanting to go to see her for a long time, but her house is inaccessible and a long way from here so had to wait until someone could help me. I had a visit arranged for Sunday lunchtime, but her daughter phoned and asked if we could put it off to today. Her mother was very ill (she has been for years but getting by on dialysis) and not able to receive visitors. Sadly, she died yesterday afternoon. We shouldn't have put it off for so long and now it's too late. Next problem is getting to the funeral. Might just send flowers and avoid being a nuisance to everyone.

5.4 at 04.00 today. Felt really wonky and oxymeter was giving some very strange results - I think it must be going wrong. It briefly showed my oxy sat as 80% and my pulse 30bpm. And I'm still conscious, if a bit shaky. So I am assuming it is going wrong.

Didn't want to take insulin before breakfast since BG was, for me, so low. Had breakfast and then took insulin as BG started to rise. Currently risen too far, but I daresay it will drop again soon. Currently losing on the swings but not gaining on the roundabouts.

Feeling wonkey first thing in the morning is becoming the new norm for me, it seems. Pills and then another doze seems to improve things though.

A friend has just e-mailed a photo to me of a group of us which included the lady who died on Sunday. Must have been about 30 years ago. We all looked so young! We weren't. 30 years ago I was already 50 and the lady who died was in her 40's, but compared to how we look now ... I even quite like the photo of myself, although normally I can't stand to be photographed.

Good morning everyone one an up and out start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.

5.3 this a.m. before I scooted off to M&S foods for a couple of things; some frozen sofrito that I like for cooking and one of their large rectangular pizza margaritas to cut into six and freeze for the girl in the bubble (it’s what the fuss pot likes).

Sun is out and there are some holes to fill on the framework of the covered driveway. We scraped out some rotten wood and treated with a wood stabiliser so now for some filler and then a bit of sanding before applying a new coat of paint. Won’t be doing all that at once mind.

Hope you decide to have a wonderful day. I shall finish my koffy and then get the ladders out.

A lovely photograph @Annb . So nice of your friend to send it to you.

5.5 this morning

My favourite pub up the road from my Norwich venue where I have my Monday afternoon meal has suddenly closed.

Luckily there is another lovely pub down the road. It is just a little bit too far to walk to but there is a very good bus service and there is a bus stop right outside it.

Had a really lovely meal there Monday.

Blood sugars this national bin day Morening were 7.7 and not a prime number, never mind.

Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen, life here in Tilehurst Towers is busy and tiring and enjoyable, our eldest grandson came round to help Mrs J and myself in the garden yesterday and after we had finished for day we sat and listened to music, some his choice and some mine, he is on a musical journey of discovery old and new.

Unfortunately Mrs J is moving around so I had better negotiate my way to the kitchen and make her tea, I live such a hard, down trodden life .

Should be a huggy bear wearing a big grin, but that's not available.

Just back from leg bandaging and shopping. Glad to be home - the legs are really playing up today so I shall spend much of the rest of the day in the big chair with my legs elevated. I shall probably sleep as well - I had difficulty keeping my eyes open while waiting at the clinic and in the car on the way home.

For some reason "The Song of the Western Men" (Trelawny) has been running on a loop in my head and, although I know the story, I actually didn't know if Trelawny did die. Wikipedia is quite informative on that and I am happy to say, having looked it up, that he didn't. That question settled, I'll just have to give voice until some other song replaces it in what passes for my brain these days. :singing:

Happy birthday, Ian. There's a song about that somewhere, if only I could remember it (and get of old Trelawny) :singing::singing:

6 weeks must seem to have dragged for JKP but recovery from many things does take a long time. The important thing is for a slow but sure recovery. Well done you, Ian, for taking over those roles and mastering household tech. You're right, grandsons (and daughters) are a joy and, as they grow bigger and stronger, quite handy to have around as well.

Thank you for the song @Annb. Very apt for my location (at least until The Donald has a strop.) My grandson being here took me back to the times he stayed with us as a very young boy and we would spend very early mornings together. Even at 2 years old he knew how to use the Sky remote to get his favourite programmes. His morning order was Camomile tea, and apple cut up with Nutella (had to be the Italian one - his mum's maternal side Italian influence). Peace be with you.
