What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning from Breckland's premier fan showroom where my Fbg was 4.7 which is where it remains until I decide to eat. We had 5 grandchildren here for a couple of hours yesterday as #2 son and family called in en route back to base in Winchester. :woot: Today we just have the two who have been staying here since Monday. My summer of sport watching continues with the European Athletics Championships. These two grandchildren like watching Athletics.:D Enjoy Wednesday but stay hydrated, in the shade and wear sun cream: probably not applicable to you @Annb. Don't look at the eclipse without your special glasses. Peace be with you all.

Fbs this morning 5.1

Sorry I have been 'missing in action ' these last few weeks :):)

It has been exceptionally busy with new people starting and I was getting behind with everything as the heat seemed to slow me down. Not just my body but my brain also.

Thank goodness the 4 week summer break started this week and I have caught up with so much and feel back to normal (or maybe normal for Norfolk),

Good to see you back. Don't overdo things in the heat you guys are having down south. We're back into winter gear here. Despite that, I actually turned the heating up a bit today.

6.1 at 02.15 today.

Back to sleep in the chair for about half an hour but can't waste time on a Thursday morning. Takes a while to get the bandages off of my legs, then a shower, then get myself dressed, have breakfast and get everything ready to go (make sure I don't forget something I will need).

The Scenic came back on Wednesday and seems to be fine. We have had trouble starting in the morning recently so Neil went out early today, in case he had to put the battery on charge but no. Started first time. I guess the electrics must have been going wrong for a while without us realizing it. Now it has a new AC unit and a new drive belt and seems to be fine. It's due an MOT in November though. That's the next hurdle.

4.8 here today. @Annb good news that the Scenic started first time this morning. I hope leg day goes as smoothly. @Krystyna23040 no wonder the heat impacted you this summer. Enjoy your break - well, as much as one of your nature ever takes a complete break. Here, we had no special glasses but JKP found a long forgotten colander to use as a pin hole camera for our grandchildren last evening and we followed on TV. Today will be at the upper end of mild on my scale here so fans on and hydration is the order of the day. Thoughts and prayers with students, parents, family and teachers this A Level, T Level and B Tec results day. Peace be with you.

@Annb I am so envious your cooler weather. It was 34° here today. In the end I gave up trying to work in our office upstairs. What is really funny is that predictive text has just changed trying to work to frying to work. Actually I did rather feel that l was frying in the office.

Yes @ianpspurs - you are right that it is not in my nature to take a complete break. Mr K's exactly the same. Although we both relaxed.and read on our recliner garden chairs in a shady part of the garden this evening. It was so peaceful and relaxing.

6.2 FBG today at 03.15.

Astonished this morning to receive an e-mail from my bank, wishing me a happy birthday (and wouldn't I like to spend some money?). That's a new ploy.

I am, apparently, 81 now and, I have to admit that my body tends to agree with the diagnosis. However, my brain just isn't having it. 21 more like, or 31 at a push.

Possibly 4.2 here today. The sensor may be OTB (on the blink, Alf) or I'm not hydrated enough or that is correct as I have seen that level FBG over the last 11 years (started this 11/7/2015) . @Annb can we assume today is actually your birthday? congratulations and best wishes. The mind is a place of its own .... (Milton) @Krystyna23040 relaxing on the recliner sounds just perfect so rinse and repeat. Plenty of sport to watch, tea and water to drink here. Peace be with you.

Yes Ian. Exactly 81 years ago at this time, I was not yet. By evening on this day, I was. Maybe my mind wasn't fully developed at that point and that's why it thinks I am younger. Thanks for the good wishes.

Just had a lovely birthday present - the bill for the work done on the Scenic. £740! £230 for parts (drive belt, water pump). The rest is for the hour or so that it took to put it all in. That's after the £250 for the part we sourced ourselves. But, cheaper than a new car, as Neil pointed out. I will very sad when the Scenic bites the dust - it's the most comfortable car we have ever had.

Really good fbs @ianpspurs. I didn't quite 'rinse and repeat ' today. My sister came over this morning to help with the admin. We had a very productive morning and end of year accounts are almost completed.. Then I continued working as I was 'on a roll' updating my 1:1 client's lesson plans and emailing them off to them and updating exercise sheets.

Mr K very wisely said that I needed to stop. So I have actually stopped and spent a bit of time relaxing.
