What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

4.4 here today. I'm still not convinced this sensor is reading correctly but that is comfortably within common levels for me over the last few years. Last night was the first one this summer where the temperature and humidity made sleeping an issue. Our ceiling fan has been enough until last night so we brought up one of the powerful ones from the lounge. Fitbit only rated the sleep as Fair but oddly gave me a readiness score of 97. Methinks Fitbit has gone all The Donald with that. @Annb interesting about the possible impact of coffee and hug for the pain. @Krystyna23040 good fbg and once again Mr K knows best :D Peace be with you.

Good evening all. fbs today was 8.7. This morning I increased my insulin dose as suggested by the diabetes service who are monitoring my readings via phone . The Freestyle libre 2 plus had worked well with continuous monitoring for the first 7 days then yesterday I was pestered by warnings every few minutes saying loss of signal. I contacted their helpline by phone this morning. They asked lots of questions and are sending me a replacement but it won't arrive until Wednesday. I can still get a reading if I place the phone directly next to the sensor or by pricking my fingers but I cannot do that during the night so I'm just hoping I don't get a hypo while I am in bed. Best wishes to all. :)

5.6 this morning.
Today I did a lesson plan for all my intermediate classes to practice over the summer vacation. It ended up 8 pages long - which was quite a bit longer than I intended.
The one for my Backcare classes was a bit shorted.
So all 20 classes now their lesson plans.

You are right that @ianpspurs that Mr K knows best. He was really determined that I wouldn't overdo it today. He was so right and I do feel the benefit of stopping for some rest and relaxation.

I do hope that you don't have a hypo tonight @dogslife

5.6 at 03.00 today.

I am waiting to get an appointment to see the opthalmologist at the hospital - optician didn't like the look of the pictures she took of the back of my left eye - so I am aware that something is going on but was a bit put out after I dozed off again to find that at 07.00 it took about 10 minutes to get even my good eye to focus. I wonder what that's about. The "bad" eye is really odd - it's distorting everything and missing bits of the image as well as being much darker and greyer than it ought to be. It still works, after a fashion, though. But I would be in a bit of a pickle if the "good" eye gives up as well.

Morning (just) Afternoon all, 4.9 here. Much cooler yesterday and last night, positively fresh at times. @Annb hug for the eye issues. If God only sends as much as you can handle then you must be amazingly strong. Oh wait, having read of and thought about your journey you clearly are incredibly resilient. @dogslife good news on the results, hence the winner, but hug for waking regularly. @Krystyna23040 good to read that you heeded the advice of the wise and all round splendid Mr K. :D #2 son's cricket team have won their league and he is on a run good batting performances. Shame most of them haven't been live streamed but he did share a short clip of him as he reached his hundred the other week. He wants to equal or beat scoring a century in 3 different counties. #3 son is off to Dubai this evening - not to buy JKP the authentic chocolate - as the company he works for has developed machines which test for bed bugs. Peace be with you all.

Not all that resilient, Ian. What happens, usually, is just within the limit of what I can cope with, so I would say I am incredibly lucky not to be tested too far. That right eye is weaker than it once was, but it still works, if a bit reluctantly at times. It still might outlast me. So far, so good.

Congratulations on having such a talented son. I hope you other son enjoys Dubai. Our visits there were a long time ago - one during Ramadan, which took us by surprise. Then it was a joy and very quaint, at least in the old town. Fantastic ice cream to be had after sunset. My cousin lived there (site manager of one of the ports) for a number of years and he loved it.

Good morning all. Fbs early this morning was 9.4 rising to 10.2 after walking to the bathroom then dropping to 8.2 once I'd sat down in the lounge. It's raining!!! Not a lot but good to see. Today we are planning to join our friends for a short group walk, then out for lunch before visiting my 84 year old cousin with a birthday card and gifts. Best wishes for the week ahead and to those inclined to dance in the rain---enjoy!

7.7 at 05.00 today. Nice long sleep - 41/2 hours!

Expecting a visitor this morning - it's becoming a regular date. She's a friendly soul and it lightens my Monday to see her.

Started a new story yesterday with my brother on hand (on the end of a phone line) to advise on technology. It has some sci fi elements. I should be working on the sequel to my previous story but this one came to back to my mind during a conversation with brother so I need to get it going asap, while I have it fresh in my mind.

5.2 this morning.
Yesterday was a completely relaxed day.
Am in holiday mode. Have completed my packing list for our little trip to The Victoria at Holkham. Have started the packing.
Mr K has completed his already with no packing list and in about a 10th of the time it will take me.

However, my list does include things like 'bring Bonnie's Kong and peanut butter'.

Hopefully Bonnie wilL be a good girl on her first holiday in a a h!hotel

Blood sugars this Morening were 10.0

Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen and those who are still struggling with the heat and lack of rain.
Sadly my naked rain dance didn’t work, Mrs J saw me just getting into the rhythm and called a halt to the proceedings loudly thus alerting the neighbours.

Now I must away be, make koffy and be a total twit as is my want…..

7.7 at 05.00 today. That wasn't actually a long night like yesterday. Didn't get to bed until after 01.00.

US scan today so nothing to eat after 07.00 and only milkless fluids. Had banana on RyVita at that point but either my system is being contrary or bananas are not very filling because I'm already hungry. Scan is at 11.30. Never mind, I have some lovely creamy chicken and mushroom soup waiting fore when I get home. Slight problem though - BG has already fallen to 4.9 and looks to be continuing downward. If it goes too far, I suppose I can have a can of espresso with sugar in it. Surely that won't upset their scanning.

Good morning all. I woke at 5am with bs of 11.2 then by the time I'd got up it was down to 9.4 so not sure which is my fbs. Surprised this morning to find all 3 water butts were full! It must have rained steadily during the night but I didn't hear a thing. Best wishes.

4.9 at 5.50 a.m. here today. @Annb I hope the US scan goes well and the soup sounds delicious. @dogslife congratulations on being in an area where there was that much rain. @alf_Josiah you are a wag (no, not one of those WAGS). @Krystyna23040 I hope the break at The Victoria Holkham enables you both to recharge your batteries. Bloods were taken without trouble yesterday and results were in by evening. On Friday I have a telephone appointment covering the scan I had back in July and any issues arising from that and/or the bloods. After the bloods we went to a well know aspirational grocers. The air con there made me feel very cold but the victuals on offer were very tempting. The main object of the visit was to buy some of their meaty (pork) ribs as despite touring what claim to be quality farm shops/butchers in the region none can match theirs. Other comestibles mysteriously found their way into the trolley - notably a large cheese pretzel from the bakery. The pretzel reassured me that the sensor worked but was divine darhling, simply divine. Just in case Gen Alpha confuse y'all with Tech terms here's some help. Peace be with you.

Scan done. Soup consumed. Much happier now.

Radiographer says my liver is still as it was - no deterioration visible. No fluid on my lungs - it's the wall of the lungs that have thickened and stiffened. No idea what that means. Maybe it's just one of those things that have no cause and no fix. We'll see.

That all sounds as though things went as well as possible. Good to read that the soup made you happier.

Good morning all. fbs at 7.30 was 8.9. Blood sugars were raised most of yesterday despite a group walk and a sensible diet. It increased during the quiz last evening. Must have been the excitement. LOL It's a mystery! Our 17 year old car goes in for its MOT this morning. The sun is shining, the sky is clear blue and the temperature is 15 degrees. Bliss! Best wishes to all.
