What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

MIL was surrounded by love but it is fair to say she felt she had had enough and was ready to reunite with her husband and daughter. Good news on getting back to a normal for your specific part of Norfolk eating pattern. @Annb hug for the pain and not wanting to take the pills. JKP and I had a good day in Ely - aside from the "business" aspect which was very easy actually. We found a shop selling locally made sourdough and some pastries for JKP. The bread is quite the best we have tasted having bought some from a wonderful farm shop hidden away in Silicon Fen. We also invested in a well known aspirational grocer since we were in the vicinity. Parking in their Ely car park is free which is rare for Cambs. The Ely branch also has a Sushi bar and I do like sashimi - #1 son also like sushi. The Newmarket branch is the larger of the two but has no Sushi bar. The Cambridge branch is rather spiffing but tends to require planning - mostly involving moving funds around:D I may be off air for a day or two until the new sensor (I forgot to claim vat back :arghh: ) arrives. It is also good that your MIL did feel she had had enough and was ready to reunite with her husband and daughter.

Apparently @dunelm posted somewhere on Wednesday (not sure where though). Nothing recently from @Lamont D either.
 
Good morning all. fbs was 8.7. I was in the process if administering my Insulin injection this morning and whilst shaking the needle to remove a drop of insulin from it before injecting somehow got the back of a finger of my other hand in the way and caused a deep scratch across it making it bleed and bending the needle in the process. Ouch! Had to start again with another needle. The good news is it is raining and 18 degrees, so much better than the humidity we've had lately. We went on our last formal group walk yesterday as the funding has run out and the leaders are being assigned elsewhere. Sad as we have made many new friendships but we have decided to continue the walks informally as there are so many benefits. Best wishes.
 
03.00 today BG was 7.9.

Had a call from the diabetes nurse at our Health Centre yesterday afternoon. The Practice had transferred me back to hosp[ital care because my health issues are too complicated for them to feel comfortable monitoring. She wanted to know if I have been seen by the hospital yet. The answer was "No, I appear to be at the end of a long waiting list." She also wanted me to keep a record of my blood pressure for 7 days. She said she would contact the hospital and find out what the situation was. Surprisingly, she called back in a few minutes with the news that I am not right at the bottom of the waiting list for attention but it would still be many weeks before I would get to the top. So, perhaps unfairly, I had a moan at her about being left in limbo with no-one taking any interest in whatever was happening relating to my weight, my diabetes and how it was affecting my general health.

Just felt like making a small protest, and expected no results. But she agreed with me. It wasn't right. She has taken it upon herself to prescribe the weight loss pill and once I have it, will keep a close eye on my results herself, even though I am not her patient any more. Wonder of wonders. Apparently these pills might have an adverse effect on my thyroid, so that means more blood tests. The medical consultant at the hospital will be pleased - he's been pushing for me to have the injections for over three years now.

Now I just have to find someone at the optician's to have a moan at. At my recent eye test, the optician didn't want to prescribe the new glasses that I need because I need to be seen by an ophthalmologist at the hospital. That leaves me with eyes that don't work very well and stops me reading very much. But, from what I can tell, she didn't refer me to the hospital. Trouble is, getting to talk to her - the receptionists get in the way, which, after all, is their job. Having worked in reception myself, I don't like moaning at them - it's not their fault.

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen, it was a good afternoon until my desk top pc stopped working, later this afternoon I will be looking into error codes, but first I need an afternoon nap zzzzzzzzzz

Ouch for the incident with the needle, but really good news that you are continuing your walking group informally @dogslife ,

It's lovely to chat with people you have become friendly with as you walk. Much like our walks in the nearby park with Bonnie. Often though, more chatting than walking takes place.

I know what you mean about more chatting than walking@Krystyna LOL. That's OK. We talk as we walk too but also meet up afterwards for a cuppa and a longer chat! :)
 
Good morning all. fbs was 8.2 but soaring up to 12.7 after breakfast of plain yoghurt and 2x peach slices (and 3 urgent visits to the bathroom-- cause unknown). Libre shows in range below 10 all night. :happy: It is pouring down with rain, darkish atmosphere and 16 degrees here. Apart from collecting an order for sore mouth items I think today is for stopping indoors! Best wishes to all.:)
 
Morning all from what might be a thundery day here in L.A. Fbg was 4.9 but that may be as good as it gets for today. @dogslife collecting the order then staying put sounds like a splendid plan. Yesterday we had time with 3 grandchildren then two son's and partners and a fourth grandchild. #1 grandson had been away at scout camp and returned enthused by a skill he had learned - making woollen bands. He asked if he could use some of the large collection of wool "Nan London" had gathered in her time. He and # 4 granddaughter spent the day making bands. Her brother, 5, soon lost interest. #2 granddaughter had been at at a workshop involving singing, dancing and acting. #3 son returned from Dubai early and unwell. He thinks it was the air n everywhere affecting him but we advised him to see a doctor anyhow. Not sure who arranged it but at the airport he found he had been upgraded to business class for the return flight. Two grandchildren here today. I wonder if there will be any cricket? Peace be with you.

Thank you @dogslife. They are indeed a blessing. It is a shame we really only see the 3 girls in Winchester virtually but we are fortunate - though we did move from Cambs :arghh: to be near - to be so close to the four here.
