What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

5.2 this morning.
Am really appreciating just how much Mr K normally does since he has had to take things easy after the mishap with the ladder.

Actually it is quite hard work to stop him overdoing it and causing himself more pain.
Has he damaged himself badly, or is it mostly shock and bruising, as it was for my husband? He had broken his nose, which was rather horrid, but it seems all right now.

It is shock, bruising and muscle injury. Luckily nothing broken.
He just wants so much to get better quickly, which is why he is pushing himself too hard.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.2 .

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and I’m going to pause writing this posting, Mrs J is stirring from her pit / lair and will have to make her early morning tea‍……

……. Tea made and didn’t get a telling off Mrs J can’t be fully awake! Yet!
Now I must go and wish you all a good happy day

4.7 here today on a wonderfully bright blue skied morning here in The Brecks. @alf_Josiah it sounds as though you escaped without even a formal warning as to future behaviour. Busy morning here so far re-configuring Amazon subscribe and save orders and spreadsheets. Keto Granola and bars in (sales of Kefir will increase), one of the 1 KG tubs of PB out. Change of routine not Cozzie Livs. The bond markets gave a muted reaction. Trump hasn't reacted yet. Two grandchildren to collect from Cambs this afternoon, possibly stopping at "The Cake Shop", aka Starbucks, on the way home. They may not be the only grandchildren hugged and treated more this weekend. Those two will come home with us and be fed before dad picks them up. Two others will possibly join them for a while as they are sleeping over. #Blessed. Peace be with you all/y'all.

I think I was fortunate that we'd arranged to go down to my mother's the week after my husband damaged himself, so he had very little to do besides recover! I was still a little shaky after my operation the same week, so my poor mother, then aged 97, had to look after us both for a couple of days! In the end, we all looked after each other

Blood glucose 5.7 this morning.

Just noticed the window in here is shut - no wonder I'm so sleepy and have a slight headache! We closed it when we went out this morning, and I came in first, and totally forgot to open it. This has now been remedied.

That was lovely that you all looked after each other

4.8 here today. @Krystyna23040 good to read that you are relaxing after a busy day. @Mrs Redboots hug for the lack of sleep and not feeling well. @Annb the FBGs are good lately but that lack of sleep isn't good. Hopefully you will catch up later. #3 son forgot that his son had football training at 5.00 last night so we had to take him and his sister to MacDonald's - near dad's house - pick up dad's partner and take them both home so he could make training. His cousins - who slept over and were coming early to see the other two - were disappointed but they soon forgot. JKP has taken our granddaughter to ballet then acrobatics at the local sports centre and grandson is doing homework. I'm going to watch the "desperation derby." Domestic bliss - or something similar. Peace be with you all.

Afternoon all on another bright, clear blue skied day here where my fbg was 4.7. @Mrs Redboots I hope the rest worked and you managed to preach as you intended. @alf_Josiah I hope that beverage had the desired impact. @Krystyna23040 after a bust week I hope today is a day of rest albeit probably active rest in your case. Peace be with you all.

Good morning all. Fbs was 8+ this morning. Visited the dentist yesterday as recommended on line by my GP for the ongoing sore/dry mouth issues. She ruled out infection which was reassuring but couldn't understand what was causing the problem. She prescribed a pain relieving spray. The chemist said the private prescription would cost over £10 whereas it could be bought over the counter for £5.99. The dentist said dry mouth could be caused by iron deficiency and suggested a blood test. I also read that when you have been taking metformin for as many years as I have it can cause Vitamin 12 deficiency which can also result in dry/ sore mouth. My HbA1c test is due soon so I am going to request that tests for iron and vitamin 12 be added to my blood form. Today my Freestyle sensor ended, I applied a new one to my other arm and for the first time it bled. I must have caught a blood vessel! I just hope it doesn't adversely affect my readings. Enjoy your Sunday afternoon and best wishes for the week ahead. :)

I used to get a very dry mouth at night, and my dentist said it was because I was on statins. I complained loudly and long to my doctor, who promptly told me to take it in the morning instead - which I did. Also, having lost weight and, arguably, having my blood sugar under better control, has helped. Boots do a very good dry mouth spray, which I keep by my bed for the rare occasions I need it. Tastes of peppermint!

Meanwhile my blood glucose was 6.0 this morning, which I think is probably due to not having been quite well yesterday - much better today, although little energy! Service went well, and this afternoon we confirmed our booking for a Christmas holiday in Vienna! I know we're going away in the motor home next week, but a Christmas holiday by train both ways (sleeper out, and breaking the journey in Munich on the way back) will be great! We've been to Vienna several times before, but never for more than 48 hours or so at a time, so 5 days there will be lovely, and give us a chance to visit museums and things.

It's great that you have something to look forward to@Mrs Redboots. With re my dry/ sore mouth- I do not take statins. I already use a dry mouth spray and now a pain relieving spray as well as a variety of things from the chemists over the past 6 weeks or so which give only temporary relief. Enjoy your trips. :)

Yes, you are right @ianpspurs . Today was a day of active rest, but I also did have some proper rest and relaxation

Vienna is a wonderful city @Mrs Redboots . I especially loved seeing the Lipizzaner horses at the Spanish Riding School , the architecture and riding on the ferris wheel
