Why cant I lower blood sugar

It was the 'threat' of insulin that prompted me to go keto 2 years back. I refused insulin because I found a less invasive option (LCHF) and got to loose lots of weight. Carbs are not bad for all but they are for some and most type 2's fall into this category. I think you are over thinking it...

Is it ok to cheat sometimes?

I consider food as something I eat or don't eat. Sometimes (every couple of months or so) I go to the chippy and I get a fish and a sausage or a fish and a steak pudding. I eat it and it's awesome. I don't think of it as a treat or a cheat. I never buy chips as they are far more accessible and...

    Exercise & BG

This is really where patience will pay dividends. My bloods increased by upto 2mmol after exercise and I managed to control it to a degree by eating 6 almonds before going to the gym. However after about 12 months my insulin resistance greatly improved due to the exercise and now I only get a...

    Aspartame....Good or Bad?

I put 100ml of polish vodka in a large glass filled with ice and topped of with coke zero or diet coke. I have several of these and wake up with a headache.........must be that aspartame :-) seriously though, one mans poison is another mans medicine.

    Nights out/lager

When I go out I usually have 6 or 7 pints then spirits. My blood sugars always drop so I wake with a fasting BS of around 4. The thing to really be careful of is how quickly you get drunk when low carbing. Sometimes I will finish the night with kebab meat and salad. Definitely no breads pitta or...

    Eat more Fruit?

Dietitian, doctor, expert and nutritionist and their opinions on T2 are now automatically put in my mental junk mail folder as I rarely if ever read anything that remotely meets what I now know to be good for my T2 from the aforementioned.

Type 2 A Question I Have been Asked

No doctor is going to thank you for adding to their cognitive dissonance. I have remained on one metformin for the benefits of staying young and living for ever as others on here do :-)

    Constipated eek help

When first going lo carb this can be the result. I tried tablets psyllium husks etc and they did nothing. I then found about a vitamin c flush. Basically a teaspoon of powdered vitamin c in a glass of water every 15 minutes. you would usually go after 5 teaspoons or 1 hour and 15mins after...

    IT CAN BE ACHIEVED

Thank you although it was a very long time ago. I really posted that to highlight my frustration at people posting prayer as a cure for the ailments of mankind. The implication being that if you are ill then your not praying hard enough. i'm sure if prayer cured diabetes then we'd be all over...

    Parking fine...treating hypo!!!

As previously mentioned. private companies have no legal right to fine you they are simply invoicing you. throw it in the bin along with any follow up letters. think nothing more about it and get on with your life.

Stubborn insulin resistance and building muscle

To increase insulin sensitivity across the whole of your body you really want to hit the gym about 3 times per week and do a total body workout for about 6 months. This will improve insulin sensitivity to all the muscles exercised. It will also have the added benefit of burning more fat and...
