Amen. I find stress raises bgl's rapidly. I've had days where the levels have jumped from 9 to 15 over an hour.

    Testing my glucose

You should test first thing in the morning, prior to breakfast, 2 hours after, and so forth for each meal of the day. As for injections, you will become accustomed to the process over time. Try to pinch the skin to reduce sensation. The results should range between 4.7 to 7.8 on average. Over...

We all live with this condition, and understand that it is life long. To cope, we join together and help each other cope. 5.2 is a good reading. Don't stress over that. Your control appears to be good. Keep up with the good behaviour and enjoy your life. Diabetes is not a prison sentence. You can rise above it, but understand it will bring you down if you ignore it. Keep your knowledge updated and manage the...

    What, me worry?

Why should I worry? I have a dedicated team who stand behind me, and make sure I take care of myself. These are the people I work with, customers, friends and family who are there to see me through. The depth of care and concern I see make make this life worth living. Yet it proves that I have...

Help my numbers are going up

Chances are the diet is stressing the body and provoking a release of glucose from the liver. BGL's around 7 are not too bad, so don't stress out. You are doing well considering you are pre diabetic. Keep a close eye on your levels and inform your GP of any erratic movements in your levels.

new to insulin with lots of questions

Sounds like a real roller coaster ride. You may need to consult with your GP if you feel you are not in full control. Steriods can really put you on the back foot, so be extra cautious.

    Fat intake.

I hear a lot about fat now being touted as a good part of a diet. Yet, if I ingest a large amount I can become nauseous and lethargic. I have been tested for a stomach ulcer and the results were negative (thank God!!). Foods with excessive oil fall into the same category, I just can't tolerate them.

    This made me laugh

To have faith is a good option, but to believe blindly is to invite disaster. Faith is effective to an extent, but logic is also a good option.
