    Hypo without symptoms?

If hypo awareness is lost the usual advice is to run levels slightly higher than normal for a couple of weeks and it should return. Hypo awareness can be lost or reduced if your normal BG levels are generally low. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Why aren't Carbs on the front of food packages?

The information is there if we just look for it. There are so many ways to get nutritional information and carb content now if we need it, packaging, apps, books, internet. OK, it may be in small writing but the manufacturers are at least putting them there. I think 10 years ago there was...

I don't think I have diabetes - Are my readings good?

Those readings look fine. It's normal for anyone to have a rise in BG levels after eating. If diabetic, these readings are higher and can remain elevated for longer. Yours are getting back in range within 2 hours. It's good to be concerned with your health but I'd save your money on these test...

    Diabetes?

Really hope it turns out OK and results come back negative. I wonder if eating very few carbs would give a false reading in a non diabetic ? Not sure, maybe someone else will know. As for his sporting past, unfortunately diabetes is not picky and anyone can get it. Anyway, I hope it's nothing...

    Recently Diagnosed Type 1

Welcome to the forum Adam, that's good advice from Scardoc. Give it a try and see how you get on. One thing you'll quickly learn is that there are no "rules" with diabetes. What works for one may or may not work for another. Keep testing and recording.

    Calculating insulin dose

You can vary your dose of QA insulin for different foods if you are carb counting. I would double check with your DSN though as well. So, is your current ratio 2 units of insulin to 1g of carb ? Seems very high or have I read your 2:1 wrong ? I would be more inclined to avoid the foods that...

I get the same occasionally. Do you use different fingers and use side of finger ? That helps a little. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App
